Easy process, collection and drop off
The process was easy, there were no issue, I have booked a van there was 7 of us. Vehicle was pretty new, it had external damage, but it was market obviously before handover. Return was equally easy. No complaints in my case.

I've given the review 5 stars, however there's always a few pointers for improvement :-)
Collection of the car is very easy from the airport. You get transferred to the car lot to collect your car
The only thing I would say...it was a shame I didn't get the exact car I book. I was offered an upgrade but at a cost, which I declined. Instead, I was given a small Jeep Avenger. Though is small car it can be a little difficult squeezing through the narrow roads on the coastline (Amalfi). Also, when I took the car, it smelt of cigarette smoke which was a little disappointing.
I also recommend when you collect the car, take a video during the inspection.
Other than those minor things, the staff and arrangements for the collection and return was very easy. I will definitely be booking from this place again!

Don't choose locauto
The company charged an after hours fee of 45 euros even though we were there before the closing time .
.keep in mind nowhere was this mentioned during the booking process .
Also we were not able to fill the gas due to flight changes and they charged us 55 for the process of filling up the tank .
And the customer service is awful as well . I have not received any answer about my complaints. Don't choose them .

The Out of Hours fee of €43 is not a penalty, but a necessary cost (as outlined at the following link: https://portale.locautorent.com/doc/condizioni_particolari.pdf) to ensure that a member of our team remains at the office past our standard closing time. This allows you to collect your vehicle despite the setback and avoid having to wait until the following morning.
Concerning the issues experienced with the fuel we would like to remind you that our standard procedure is to deliver the vehicle with a full tank of fuel. This was confirmed and shown to you during the initial inspection (damage check) before the rental agreement was signed.
As per our 'Fair Fuel Policy', every customer has three options:
Return the car full: Refilling the tank yourself before drop-off.
Pre-paid Fuel: Paying for a full tank in advance and returning the vehicle empty.
Refuelling Service: If the car is not returned full and the pre-paid option was not chosen, a refueling service fee plus the cost of the missing liters is applied.

Excellent service and a hassle-free experience
This summer, I rented two vehicles from Locauto in Italy, and the experience was excellent. The staff were always very friendly, efficient and quick to assist. The cars were new, well maintained and very well equipped.
Both the pick-up and return processes were quick and straightforward, with no unnecessary paperwork. All the information and documentation arrived promptly by email and was always readily available whenever I needed it.
I would definitely recommend Locauto and would happily rent from them again.

The handover and return of the vehicle went smoothly and the staff were friendly. The vehicle itself was not up to standard for the price and had not been properly prepared. The air conditioning was inadequate for the local weather conditions. The windscreen wiper blades were worn out and no longer worked, which only became apparent when it started to rain. The vehicle had therefore not been fully checked to ensure it was in working order.
Update: It seems they still take the time to deal with their customers on an individual basis here. In that respect, I’m revising my view to focus on the key point: that they do take care of you. I’m therefore reconsidering Locauto.

Really disappointed with our rental…
Really disappointed with our rental paid a much higher price for a jeep avenger only to get there and find out they didn’t have any and instead gave me a beat up renegade (cheaper model) the car had so many dents all over it and wasn’t ready we had to wait another 40 minutes for it to arrive. I was told and paid for an additional driver paid £70 euros to add on my husband who was arriving 3 days later to be told he had to be there and his driving license I provided couldn’t be added without him being there was told to go to the office in Sorrento ( which didn’t exist it’s Salerno) some 57 km away to add him in the wrong direction from where we were staying. Therefore as we could t add him as I had his license in sorrento and he flew into Naples where we picked the car up the £70 I paid was for nothing as he couldn’t drive it. Would not recommend at all as I feel utterly ripped off not only not the car I specifically paid for but also conned out of £70 I still have had no confirmation I will get back

The "Full Protection" policy offered by a broker is a excess-reimbursement service provided directly by the broker to the customer. As an independent broker agreement, Locauto has no visibility into or control over insurance products purchased on third-party websites.
Our staff simply informs customers about our own direct coverage options, which eliminate the liability directly with Locauto at the desk. Taking Locauto's protection is always optional.
