Easy pick up at the airport and friendly staff
Easy pick up at the airport in Palermo. The Locauto counter was easy to find in the arrival hal, the staff was friendly and accommodating doing all the paper work. The pick up as well as the return of the car went smoothly as well. All in all, it was a very good experience and I absolutely will recommend Locauto.

Hello, the girl was very helpful and we get car very fast with debet card, with no problems. Before we have a lot of problems wirh booked car at Sicily by car, because we did not have credit card on drivers name they did not want to change the drivers name so we have to cancel reservation on our costs. Well, the car was clean, and by returning car we just leave car keys in the box on the airport.

Con car rental agency
The car was ok, no problem with it. But we checked-out at the agency in the centre of Palermo, we arrived 35 minutes late to drop it and the man in charge charged us 59 additional euros saying he couldn't do anything else than charging us for an additional day! I perfectly know I was a little late and that it was my fault but I don't accept this lack of simple "humanity". This locauto agency downtown Palermo is exploiting customers/tourists and I will never rent another car with this Locauto again. I suppose business is business but I don't like this mentality (and I am used to rent cars in foreign countries). And watch out for the fuel tank when you pick-up the car, mine was not totally full although it was written that it was on the paper!

For this reason, we offer a 59-minute grace period to accommodate potential travel delays that may arise.
Upon reviewing your file, the vehicle was returned 94 minutes after the scheduled time listed on your agreement. Once the 59-minute window is exceeded, our system automatically charges for an extra day. This automated process is why we always encourage our guests to adhere closely to the return time stated in their contract.
Regarding the fuel level, it is our standard procedure to conduct a joint check-out with the customer at pick-up to verify both the vehicle's condition and the fuel level, allowing us to correct any discrepancies relative to our system immediately.
We sincerely apologize for your disappointment and hope to have another opportunity in the future to show you the true value of our service.

They will NOT give you the car you…
They will NOT give you the car you rented. You'd probably get a car full of scratches. When u return the car, they will find a small scratch among them which was there before and claim that you did it, so give us 300-500€, whatever they could take from you. Don't book then if you dont like stress on travel.

I went to Locauto/Enterprise at Palermo airport after problems with my reservation at different company. Locauto - they had car and rented me car with debit card(i had my credit card in virtual form in my phone). For 10 days Skoda Kamiq it was 840€ with full insurance. Car looked like new, had 35000km and drove well. I had not any troubles at return, literally 0, they just checked the fuel, because of full-full policy. BTW I cleaned the car, fueled it to top and arrived at agreed time for return. I was satisfied, had no problems and everything went fast and smooth and 10 days with full insurance for 840 was ok price either.

The only thing I didn’t like was the way the insurance was handled. I arranged everything over the phone with one company, including purchasing full insurance, but when I arrived to pick up the car, I found out that the company I had been dealing with wasn’t actually the company renting me the car. They were a broker working with the rental company.
The employee at the counter told me that the insurance I had already paid for was not valid with the rental company itself. She explained that if anything happened to the car, I would have to pay the rental company first and then contact the broker afterwards to try to get reimbursed.
I find this completely unacceptable. If I pay for insurance, I expect to be covered directly, not to pay out of my own pocket first and hope to get my money back later. This feels like a very misleading system, and I think other customers should be aware of it before booking.
Fortunately, everything was fine with the car until the end of the rental period, so I didn’t have to deal with this unnecessary hassle. However, if something had happened, the situation could have been very different.

When you book a vehicle through a third-party broker, any coverage or excess refund protection you purchase from them is a separate contract between you and that broker. Because Locauto is the direct car rental operator and not the broker, our system does not have visibility into the specific third-party policies you selected during your online reservation.
For this reason, our counter staff is trained to clearly explain our standard rental conditions and offer our own direct coverage options. These direct products allow damage claims to be handled immediately on-site without requiring you to pay out of pocket first. However, accepting our additional coverages is always completely optional, and our customers remain entirely free to choose whether to stick with their broker’s policy or add our direct protection.
We regret that this distinction caused confusion or distress during your pick-up, and we will continue working to ensure our rental terms and counter explanations are as clear and transparent as possible.
