Worst rental car experience ever!
For seasoned travelers this was the worst experience of a rental car that we have ever had ! After having a great week in France with a different rental company, we arrived in Palermo and got given a very dirty unchecked vehicle. We asked them just to vacuum the floor of the driver, which was covered in sand and soil.The outside of the vehicle was also dirty. When we mentioned a scratch on the left rearside of the vehicle the attendant just answered that we can write the car off because we are fully covered and don't have to worry. We discovered later the left side mirror was damaged and at a fuelstation discovered it had no fuel cap!? We also had a slow puncture on the right front tire which we had to attend to frequently. The speedlimit indicator went completely highwire at certain times, it once showed 90km/hours in a 30km zone (we took a photo for reference) and 20km in a 80km zone. ... Very unreliable and dangerous for the driver to perhaps get a speeding fine. Surely after paying such a huge rental amount one should expect better? For a 13 day road trip a clean reliable vehicle is an important part of your holiday. Lastly, the signage at the Naples airport for rental cars drop-off was really not good enough... We met two other couples who also struggled to find the drop-off spot. We certainly expected much more from a reliable company as yours and would appreciate a proper response from your company to our unsatisfying experience.

Essential, no bullshit service
The process of the delivery was convenient, quick and simple as Locauto's office is inside the terminal building and the car park situated just across the street. Also, Locauto didn't block a guarantee amount on our card. The drop off was also smooth: we just left the keys in a dedicated box and that was it. The car was good and the tank full. The only reasons why Locauto doesn't get a perfect score is that the car had some damage on the side and was delivered to us unwashed and rather dirty.

We needed more instruction on the car functions! They just handed us the keys and said all you need to worry about is returning the keys. I appreciate the worry free insurance and the no worry to fill up gas tank. But the price for these worry free things was also very high. Will need to look for more economical car rental next time. Excellent experience with Locauto during our trip to Sicily. We collected the car in Palermo, where the staff were welcoming, professional, and very helpful. Everything was explained clearly, and the collection process was smooth and stress-free.
The car was perfect for our holiday and allowed us to explore the beautiful towns and countryside of Sicily with complete freedom.
