We were charged a full day rental for 2 hour overage. The daily rate was also substantially more than what we paid per day for our 6 day rental.
They would not even try to accommodate a credit towards a new rental or any sort of partial discount.
The car rental company also doesn’t respect the insurance purchased directly with booking.com so we needed to dish out 500$ for their insurance at the last minute.
Was not a great service at Palermo airport.

Regarding the extra day:at Locauto, we offer a standard 59-minute grace period for vehicle returns. In your case, the car was returned 2 hours and 40 minutes late, which automatically triggered an extra day's charge.
Because your original reservation was a prepaid booking made through a third-party broker, extending it at that discounted rate was unfortunately not possible. Late returns or additional days are subject to our standard daily rate available on that specific day.
Services or protection plans purchased directly through Booking.com are third-party agreements between you and the broker; they are not visible in our system nor directly managed by Locauto. Because of this, our staff explained how our internal protection options work and offered our package as an alternative so you could enjoy full coverage with us. However, purchasing our additional protection is always completely optional.
We hope these informations are useful and we look forward to welcoming you back for a much better experience.

Excellent car rental experience
Excellent car rental experience! We picked up the car at Palermo Airport and returned it there as well. Everything was quick, smooth, and completely hassle-free.
The staff were incredibly friendly, professional, and always ready to help. We were especially impressed to receive an almost brand-new car with only about 2,000 km on the odometer. The vehicle was in perfect condition.
We highly recommend Logauto — 10 out of 10! The next time we visit Sicily, we will definitely rent a car from them again.

Even though I accidentally returned the car later than planned, the company handled the situation with understanding and did not charge me any penalties. The entire rental process was smooth, the car was in excellent condition, and the staff were professional, friendly, and truly customer-focused.
It was a great experience from start to finish. I will definitely rent from you again and highly recommend your company to anyone looking for reliable and outstanding service.

Preety pleasant experience
Staff member on desk was very indifferent and pert.
I had no other problems. I purchased full insurance pack (highly recommended for non-italian drivers). Car was brand new and reliable. Luckily, I had no crashs or incidents, so I can't rate how the service in that case would function.
Booking process online was easy and intuitive.

Giving this 3 stars because of all the hidden fees Booking.com didn’t mention. Not mentioning I’d have to pay the young drivers fee at 24 years old which is ridiculous in the first place that someone thats had a license for 7 years is still considered a “young driver”. Then the insurance which Booking.com made it seem like I was buying from the rental itself, but instead it just being some booking.com insurance, and the actual Locauto insurance being 250 euros more.
I know that buying directly from the website is of course better, which I take the blame for. But the fact that Booking.com deliberately hides all these fees and doesn’t even mention them once is definately mad.
Was also told when I got there that the Fiat panda I had ordered was not available and only a big Peugeot van was possible. But after a firm no thank you and a short debate, a magical Fiat Panda was all of a sudden available for me…
This hassle aside, the staff was mostly nice and the car was good - Which is the bare minimum when renting a car.

Great experience! Easy pick-up and no stress with the drop-off. It's not one of those companies that charge you for some ghost scratches you didn't see when you got the car. As long as you don't dent the car, you're good to go. Very pleasant experience in dealing with the staff too.
