Car was not available on time and had to wait for 6hrs at airport!

Found the team really helpful and honest. No selling of extras or trying to put pressure on to do so. Definitely recommend as a company.

We had a delay and locauto opens till late. Car was the one we chose altough we arrived late, very modern and well maintained. Staff was super friendly and helpful.

Very good from start to finish.

Our booking was confirmed for 13:30. However, upon arrival at your airport office, we were informed that the van was not available due to “a problem.” Staff advised us that the driver bringing the vehicle from another airport had been involved in an accident. While we were relieved to hear that the driver was not injured, it is incomprehensible how, at the scheduled collection time, the vehicle was still nowhere near the airport and there was no contingency plan in place.

What made the situation worse was:

No alternative vehicle was offered, even temporarily.

Several staff members were unhelpful and in some cases rude.

The help centre was equally uninformative and repeatedly redirected us to the airport office without providing any clear answers.

We also attempted to seek assistance from Booking.com, but received no help whatsoever. Locauto staff repeatedly insisted that Booking.com was responsible for any compensation, and not the company itself, leaving us without support from either party.

We were left waiting for over 5 hours in the airport with four small children and without any timeframe or proactive updates.

The lack of assistance from both Locauto and Booking.com at that moment caused unnecessary stress, frustration, and the unfortunate reality that our holiday began on a very negative note.

Another thing to be careful is that upon our return the employee checking our vehicle told us that we gave fuel 40km away, and it was not true since we make a full refill from the station near the airport. Luckily we still had the receipt to show so its important to keep it.

No compensation given when asked for it at the airport office!!!

Locauto is by far the best car rental at Trieste airport. Having tested almost all of them. Surely avoid Sicily By Car, they leave office before time, so with a late flight you will easily remain with no car. Unthinkable for Locauto’s staff, all very customer oriented
