Phenomenally rude customer service - refused payment method 'because of their coronavirus terms and conditions' these were not shown anywhere on the website, unless you specifically search for them. Nothing was shown under payment methods or my account.
Have been a repeat customer here for many years (both as a buyer and seller) and I this will be my last transaction - I am completely fed up with their rudeness and disdain for their customers.
Lots road auction bizarre staff reception very rude went to view rugs and carpets were not even on the premises impossible to view apparantly online but not in the building after adding up the commission I walked outside and noticed another shop next door selling rugs helpfull guy knew his stuff big section I was able to view at home and came out on top in my budget so ended up with an unexpected great deal 😊
Decided to sell an item at Lots Road and I regret it. The estimated valuation came quickly, but once the item had reached Lots Road, it was impossible to get a straight answer from anyone. I was contacted to ask the lowest price I was willing to sell for, and in response asked a question about what fees would be due. Nobody responded so I emailed again and called, but nobody knew. After trying to call 20 times, and only 30 minutes before the auction, I was told I had a greed to discount the item by 50% (I had not). The receptionist did not have answers to any questions about fees, and seemed angry at me about it. Ridiculous experience.
I am shocked to see any positive reviews on Lots Road. My husband and I have spent upwards of £100,000 over the past 5-7 years with Lots Road. Have always paid and picked up our items. Recently bought two small items and was unable to pick them up due to Covid and we had gone off to Greece Shortly after the auction. I get a “courtesy” call to say the items are no longer mine because I didn’t pick them up (despite in all these years I never picked them up by the deadline as I was buying every week). When I said it was an oversight, happy to pay , they said too late. I was like just charge me for storage as it says in your terms and he said too late. We are giving them back to the owner. When I said ask the owner if he is ok for me to pay for them now, he said too late! I bet they already resold it in last week’s auction and are covering themselves. Horrible, awful people. Will never spend another dime there. And not to mention, they lie about half the stuff they are selling. All reproductions and lots of fake art. Thank God for other real auction houses. I’d give them less than 1 star, if possible. More like an infinity of negative stars. Appalling customer service. No appreciation for long term customers. Yuck!
Failed to respond to my request for condition report. to my emails, and to a message left by phone. If they're unable to respond to the most straightforward of requests, it doesn't reflect well on the business as a whole.
Extremely rude overpriced fake auction mainly items sold by the trade and not from local homes as expected so no real bargains
Just love dealing with Lots road auction house. Not only do they have a wonderfully eclectic mix of items each week but their team are simply first rate. Highly recommend.
Good choice in Auction lots and range of prices. Bidding system works well for absent bidders and I was successful with my absent bids on the items chosen!
Friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. I always feel I’m in safe hands at Lots road.
My experiences over the past thirty years have always been exellent, I have furnished several past homes with unusual different pieces which have made my homes a little edgy and very tasteful with things that can't be bought on the High St. or anywhere else for that matter.
