I am extremely disappointed with the…

I am extremely disappointed with the quality of my new very expensive oak shutters. There are several issues I noticed after installation and sent an email with many photos.
In my opinion the quality was far inferior to the sample I held when the salesman visited. The quality of "Oak" is very poor. Certainly not English Oak by far . In some areas the blinds are rough to the touch and sparse in paint . There is an area of indentations on the framework which one of the fitters pointed out not realising I could hear him.
There are also a line of indentations /marks all the way across one of the blades .There is a notch on the vertical section in the centre .There is a very generous allowance to accommodate when fitting so I have a 8-9mm mm gap at the sides where you can see the screws from outside :(
The framework does not align in one of the corners.
Needless to say I was very upset after my inspection when the fitters left .
A phone call was made on the day of fitting regarding the indentations ( before seeing all the other issues)
I offered to fill these myself and so was promised some paint but no sign of any paint yet over one month later .
I sent an email and received a reply from Amy seemingly very surprised at my disappointment stating that they have never had such complaints .
she offered to send the fitters back but I do not know how they can fix these issues . For the second time she offered to send the paint out to me first class but failed to do so ! I found the fitters to be unprofessional .They had no stepladder and were using a tool box to reach the top of the shutter .I offered them a SL but they declined .They left off the covers caps on some of the frames and left a mess on the window cill .
Each shutter cost approx £800 so a total of £2,400 for the 3 . For this price I expected much better quality.
There is questionable quality control, if is exists !
I can assure you I am very relieved we only had 3 shutters made and will be using another company for the other 15 windows by another local company we have used before .

2 Great Experiences

I have used this company twice - once for wooden venetian blinds in an apartment, the second time for plantation shutters in my house.
On both occasions the quality of the blinds and the fitting service has been exceptional.
I changed the dimensions of one of my windows after measuring, totally my mistake but they sorted out a new shutter for me at very reasonable cost and no fuss.
I also had a minor issue with another of the shutters - they immediately offered to send out one of their fitters to sort it out. Great help from George.
I am very glad I went with this firm who really seem to care about what they do as opposed to a national firm who also quoted for me.
I post negative reviews occasionally (not this company) but I want to make a point of saying how good these guys are
