Reflecting on my recent experience of being hired by Mangates to train for an offline emotional intelligence course. I am pleased to share a successful experience. The clarity in time commitments and timely provision of materials allowed me to prepare offline workbooks, to help the learning process.

The course content was thoughtfully aligned with our objectives, facilitating engaging discussions about real workplace scenarios—a method that proved highly beneficial.

Jyothi Oblesh's support ensured I fully grasped course expectations and outcomes, leading to excellent feedback after presenting the course.

While venue arrangements could improve, the overall success of the class leaves me open to future collaborations.

My rating: four stars due to venue-related details needing attention from my perspective as a trainer.

The training was very engaging and informative. I felt that I learned a lot of management skills to take back to my job and further in life.

My team took the Effective Communications Skills class with Jim. It was a great experience. We all learned various techniques to communicate more effectively. I would definitely recommend this class to anyone no matter their position within their company.

TDLR - This company is a scam.

I bought a ticket through EventBrite for in-person training on 8/23/24 and was not told the event location prior, so I sent an email to the address listed on the ticket. "Steven Jones" responded the day of class that it was being rescheduled for 9/4 due to an "unexpected trainer medical issue". I responded that this new date would work and he provided the location where it would be held.

On 9/4, I arrived at the location provided and no one associated with Mangates was there, so I called the phone number listed on the ticket. A woman picked up and told me that the class was cancelled AGAIN due to "trainer scheduling issues" and that "Steven" tried to alert me ahead of time via email but didn't receive a response - even telling me to check my Junk folder. The email I provided them is my business account that I check every day and no such email from "Steven" was ever received, even as Junk. Also, his email wouldn't have even been sent to the Junk folder since I had already been emailing with him about the first rescheduling. I told the woman on the phone this and she said that I could attend the virtual class on 9/6, to which I reluctantly agreed. Less than a minute later, I received an email from "Steven" saying to "please check my spam or junk folder for his previous email" along with a text block about class cancellation. Below this were several other text blocks about class cancellation dated 8/26, 8/27, 8/31, and 9/4 that appeared at first glance to be replies in the email thread, despite me never receiving them. However, instead of containing From, Sent, To, Cc, and Subject information like a normal reply, these blocks were separated by lines such as "On 8/26/2024 6:27 PM, Steven Jones wrote:". It was almost as if these blocks were added as part of the subject of the real 9/4 email to seem as though more emails were sent.

This obviously rang the alarm bells, so I started doing some digging on Mangates. I found a LinkedIn profile for "Steven Jones" who has "been a Mangates employee since 2015", but there is NO other information listed - not even about his education. I took a screenshot of his profile picture, ran it through a reverse image search website, and it came back with 4 results from stock picture websites. STEVEN JONES ISN'T EVEN A REAL PERSON LOL! I continued with my digging out of curiosity and found several 1-star reviews from people across multiple websites who had similar experiences and were corroborating that Mangates is a scam. These honest reviews seem to be shadowed by several other clearly fake 5-star reviews on the same websites. As an added bonus, I also found a customer review posted on their Facebook page on 6/10 from "Leticia Ortiz" with a picture beside it. I reverse image searched this picture and it came back with 2 results from stock picture websites as well.

After finding all of this out, I spoke with the same woman on the phone again and told her that I no longer wanted to attend the virtual class on 9/6 or any others and would like a refund. She tried to offer me a "one-on-one training opportunity" instead, which I obviously declined. She said that she would move forward with the refund process and I would receive it within 7-14 business days. We'll see if that actually happens!

In summary, Mangates is a scam company that uses fake names/pictures for employees/customers to receive money without actually providing the services they claim to. I would highly recommend going elsewhere for your training needs!

The instructor in the Louisville area for Conflict Management was great. Jim Jackson thoroughly helped work through the process of conflict resolution.

I recently taught the Practical Sales Skills course. From start to finish, I had an excellent experience working with Mangates. From their initial outreach, through contracting, course preparation, wrap-up, and payment, they were professional, well organized and highly communicative, often answering my questions before I even asked. The course content was comprehensive and well-organized, and their staff members that worked with me were top-notch.
