I’m a frequent visitor to the central Manchester Royal Exchange branch - having received a good deal on some broken / unwanted gold a few days earlier I popped back with a few more pieces seeing as gold prices are quite high currently.

I again received a good offer for my rings and a bracelet and had the cash in my hand very quickly having gone in prepared with my ID.

Also very good for assessing non-hallmarked items and will give you an honest appraisal.

Very happy to recommend for both purchase and sale of jewellery / gold.

Went to Mays to collect our stash of turkish lira on Saturday 30th August, so sorry but I didn't remember your names but you were both so lovely. We ordered a very large amount and it took over half an hour just to count it all. You were both lovely and polite and so friendly. Would recommend this shop whether get you jewellery or the exchange bureau. Thank you so much.

Having a fair amount of jewellery, that we no longer wear, we called into the Oldham Town Square store. The ladies were lovely and very helpful. They took the time to properly check the pieces & were tactful when letting us know of any items that they wouldn’t be able to buy.
We were very pleased with the price offered and the money was in the bank before close of business. We would definitely use them again and are very happy to recommend them.

I needed to have two links taken out of my silver ID bracelet, so I visited the branch located at 192 Rochdale Road M40 7RA.

I was seved by 'Casie' who was engaging and professional Could not be any happier because the alteration was completed in just a week for £12. A nice surprise was that they cleaned it too which I did not actually request!

I answered an add on line to sell my gold, quick evaluation and great prices. I completed the application and description form and added photos, a day later I was instructed to bring my gold to one of their shops, so my first concern was why was I not just told to bring in my gold instead of all the paperwork and photos. I arrived at the shop and was met by a sullen looking female who took my gold off me and went into a back room, I asked why are you not apprising and weighing my gold in front of me, she replied our scales are in the back. I could hear her on the phone to another branch so it was then obvious that I was being dealt with by some who has neither the skills or the authority to appraise gold.

The value at that time of my gold (112 grams) was £2.864.00, Mays disgraceful offer was £2050 which was £800 less than scrap value despite three of the five items were in better condition that some they already had in the shop window and would not have been scraped. The lesson here is simple, don't deal with back street so called gold traders because they don't trade they rip off, stay away from MAYS.

Received a reply from Mays which just added insult to the initial insult. Readers take note: Bolton Bullion in Farnworth gave me £660.00 more than Mays offered, my advice stands, STAY AWAY FROM MAYS.

Staff are really polite and helpful, feel at ease going to this place 😊👍, highly recommend.
