How a company reacts when things go wrong is often more important than when everything is fine. On Christmas Day I was unable to establish a connection to my nearly new Meater Pro probe to be able to... See more

This item works...most of the time. Occasionally it won't connect to the app on the phone even though the charging station is within 1 foot of the probe and my phone is within 1 foot of the station. It also will definitely NOT WORK if you have the probe in a cast iron pot in an oven. For the money, you would think the reliability would be better.

I am so very upset with my duo pro meaters. I should of kept my original meater plus thermometer that had a aaa battery! I upgraded to the duo pro meater thinking it was going to be better but no. Everytime i need to use them they are dead! And I call customers service and they tell me that the wooden block does not keep charge! Like why doesnt it say that on the description! Literally I charge it use it once and a few days later their all dead! So mad about these! I want my money back asap!

Tough and complicated to use and convoluted instructions. All instructions are videos and there are multiples of them.
I dread to picture my father in-law trying to use this.
We used this once and were dissapointed with the experience amd put off using it again. The next time we used it, we had the same issues.
I doubt ill use it a third time.

Was given this as a gift, & forgot all about it for almost a year. Apparently it is a BAD design and collected moisture/humidity in my kitchen drawer in its original box & wooden case/docking station. The connections actually even rusted!!! I was told that it was manufactured 2 years ago and was out of warranty & they offered me 30% off purchase of new docking station. I asked what was going to keep this from happening again in my house in the Summer. Then I was told they have one on Amazon only that is made of plastic, but I would have to purchase from Amazon directly without any discount!!! Obviously 🙄 it is a design flaw and Amazon doesn’t want to deal with the issue of an abundance of returns!!!! Buyer Beware!!!!!!

I purchased the Meater 2 Pro and have been using it for five months now. I was extremely excited after seeing the ads, but I’ve been so disappointed with it—especially considering the price.
The cook is not as good as I expected, and the food is often undercooked. The cooking and resting times provided by the app are completely unreliable, making it impossible to time other dishes to be ready alongside the meat.
I've also had constant issues with syncing between the thermometer and the base unit.
In my opinion, it’s a lot of hype and definitely not worth the money. I feel really lucky that I didn’t go for the four-pack, as I was initially tempted to.

Creepy. It’s fickle. Have had this for some years. I won’t cover what other reviewers gave said about that. Disturbed by survey emails after cooking: ‘How was your lamb? Let us know! Hugs’ also couldn’t shut the app off after the last use. Had to restart my phone. I have a cheap meat thermometer that doesn’t stalk me. Might be using that instead in the future.

Tonight’s London Broil was cooked to a perfection. I actually foil wrapped the Broil during the Rest period and you could monitor the internal temp still rising during the rest, very nice. Last week’s Turkey was the same with no issues and the Bird was cooked to a perfection. I think it’s time to retire my instant read digital stick thermometer.
I received my Meater temperature Wi-Fi probe. Wow! The wooden storage box containing the probe and battery for charging the unit was a piece of art in itself. Truly it was designed by an artist engineer if there is such a title. After charging and connecting my I-phone via the app it works flawlessly. This would make an impressive gift for someone who has it all. Now I do.
What fantastic, friendly customer support. I had an issue. Was resolved quickly with no fuss. Very happy. Thank you.
The meater plus seems to be the only 1 that will halfway work. It says 33 feet away it should connect but it’s really you basically have to put the box on top of the smoker to get it to connect an if you walk more than 10 feet away everything constantly disconnects. Honestly it’s easier to just use the probe from Traeger on the smoker than this thing. Not sure why it’s so high maintenance an temperamental

Stop working after the warranty was up and they just offer a 15% discount on the regular Meater

Same ole, same ole ... the unit is worthless 30' from my smoker. I have an Expert Grill meat probe that I got from HEB for $15 that is much better than this POS. If you're grilling/cooking/smoking 15' from your meat, Kumbaya!
If you're more distant from that, it's worthless. Period! Don't waste your time or money.

Never stays connected. The probe and the charger are literally one foot apart and it looses connection all the time. I have good wi-fi, bluetooth works just fine. The product itself is flawed. I do not recommend and would never spend the money to but another one.

I would return it if I could. Not happy with this product. Why should I have to have an account with Meater to get the temperature of something I'm cooking!

Junk and worthless, always disconnecting. Even though less than 10 ft away from the oven. Definitely not happy wish I'd never bought it

Disappointed in the battery. I will often go weeks or months between cooks (especially in winter). Everytime I take my Meater Pro Duo out of the box the batteries are totally dead, the base and both probes. There is NO way to turn anything off to save batteries for your next cook.
So now I need to remember to charge the Meater at least 2 hours before EVERY cook -really poor design.
Also
I often cook (grilling) over charcoal, the constant "Flare Up Detected" alerts are really annoying, -I know! I don't need the Meater squawking at me every 30 seconds during a cook....

If it had the option not to leave a star I would. I have had nothing but issues with this product since getting it. The whole system has failed me almost every cook I have done. The probes will randomly disconnect or won’t connect at all. The block also always will disconnect from WiFi signal or won’t connect to wife at all as well. I have been dealing with the support for 3-4 weeks now and each support call we have trouble shot the issue and all the support agents have said it looks like there is a bigger issue and fwd me to higher ups. I have been emailing back and fourth with the higher up of support and they are trying to get me to download apps and all these different things for my WiFi when we already know it is set up for the correct connection that the meter has. They also just keep saying they are here to help when they just constantly keep telling me to clean my probes better and check my WiFi signal. I have sent numerous pictures showing my probes to be in like new condition as far as being clean, and have sent multiple pictures of a fantastic WiFi signal and my meater block not connecting. I have a family member with the same one as mine who have similar issues with theirs, but it will connect better than mine and I still have the same issues connecting to their signal as well. I have done just about everything and have wasted hours on the phone and over email and all they wanna do is deny any issue and do everything possible to blame my WiFi dirty probes ect ect even after trouble shooting all of these things with a agent over the phone and confirming none of these are my issues. If you plan to purchase one of these just beware the support is worthless and as it appears from other comments above I am not the only person with this issue. I really wish I could trust this block because I grill all the time but sadly it has been a absolute pain and has let me down almost every single time I have tried to use it. I guarantee meater will reply back to this email saying they are trying their best and to try cleaning my probes, check batteries or check your WiFi signal and just keep ignoring the fact I have done all that with them multiple times now.

The Meater works well. I enjoy the fact that I can sit in the house and know what the temperature of the meat is.
I am REALLY disappointed in my Meater Pro Duo. I previously owned (and LOVED) a Meater Pro and an original Meater. They both used replaceable batteries which lasted a year or more. The Pro Duo has a rechargeable battery with a USB C port for recharging. That is OK with me, but the battery dies WITHIN A FEW DAYS AFTER AN OVERNIGHT CHARGE, just sitting in the drawer!!! The support guy I talked to basically said "yeah that's the way it is." This is a GIANT STEP BACKWARD from previous generation products. I don't want to leave my product out and plugged in all the time. I want to fully charge it, and then expect it to JUST WORK - for MONTHS - when I take it out of the drawer. If a single probe Meater Pro could do this with a pair of alkaline batteries, it sure as hell should be able to do it with a lithium ion battery. I think this is a BUG, and the company should own up to it and FIX IT.
To add insult to injury, there is no "fully charged" indication on the LED lights - it just glows red when you're charging - forever. Come on , Meater - this is just piss poor engineering design and you know it.

So easy to set up and use. Perfectly cooked lamb rib roast, without the guess work!
