I sent all my books some of them I had two copies and even though they don't accept two of the same book I just sent it (I thought let them sell it I don't need it anymore). Then I receive an email saying they didn't want some of the books I had sent, my choices were to either pay the delivery so they were sent back to me or to give it for free to them. I find it very unfair, the books I sent double were never mentioned, they were cool with that and the others they didn't want I had to pay to receive it or give it to them??? Very interesting, to me it says "Oh we are gonna keep your books and give you no money for it".
It was easyJet to get what I bought for glasses to get money. Jokey, ist it. Jack?
These are rip-off merchants. They take your items, give a random excuse (I have photographic evidence of my items), refuse to speak to you when you query how they managed to get this (for instance, they said my book wasn't genuine when I purchased it from Water stones directly!).
Even if they offer higher trade in prices, you won't get any of it! I'm telling you now, don't make the mistake I did, DO NOT use them. There are far better other company to sell items do with UK based not GERMAN based which this rip-off company is.
Very slow to get money - took 4 weeks. Took 3 weeks to receive my parcel of books then another week to check them and send the money. I asked for updates but they do not answer questions directly so you are left in the dark not knowing if your parcel got there or if you will get your money. Never again.
I recently traded in 14 CD's. After the items were recieved, i waited 7 days until the company said all the items were accepted except 1 CD. The item in question ironically was the most valuable cd in the order and so their descision not to pay me for the item due to it being 'incomplete' bought the value of the sale down around 25%.
Momox do not offer any customer service regarding items they decline as their email states: "Note: Communication by telephone or email is unfortunately not possible for legal reasons regarding data protection."
Not impressed, sent many working DVDs to this outfit, 3 of them were rejected, one because they couldn't find a barcode (but could identify the DVD on the order to reject it) and 1 was excessively worn (not true) and 1 was incomplete (?)
£5 to return the items or 'free recycling' (selling them anyway would be my guess) such a fee makes any rejections look even more dodgy as it backs you into accepting regardless.
I recently sold 22 books to momox.co.uk and was offered between 0.12 GBP – 6.50 GBP per item. Less than half of the books had been used, but still in good condition. The others were unused and of good - v. good condition. The items were carefully packed before shipment.
I was notified that six of the books ‘did not comply with purchase conditions’ and was given the option of either the books being returned to me at a cost of 12 GBP or to be “recycled” free of charge. The six books did not precisely match those I knew to have been used. Whilst I accept that 2/6 of these books were used, they are in the business of buying ‘used’ books and so this should not come as a surprise. The others were of good - v. good condition. I therefore have a strong suspicion that their choice of books to mark as unsatisfactory for purchase was arbitrary and devious; being the result of standard practice, regardless of any meaningful inspection of actual condition.
I am qualified to recommend my review as completely sincere, as I would not otherwise have bothered to record such a full account of my experience for the sake of 4.30 GBP (total offer for rejected items).
I find your response seriously rude = and as for telling me not to phone you in that route is absolutely out of order. I have been asked by my solicitor to tell you that if you destroy or recycle the items without my consent - I have the right through the court to take action and make a claim for the full amount - in the county court. I note your feedback on trust pilot is awful It shows you treat all customers badly. I also have to tell you that failing to reply is also unacceptable. Your only option is to return the goods to me at your cost. Not mine.
I shall continue to contact management. In order to ensure MOMOX confronts their responsibilities. Starting tomorrow.
Also I have passed all your emails to the press to collate a story for the new papers.. Consider my emails as a complaint about your service - and thus should be treated as a complaint - where as you seem to think that you can ignore complaints.
I suggest you call me to sort this matter out. I have also been asked to tell you that you should mediate this issue and I am giving you the opportunity before I take it legally.
I Photograph Every item i send - it proves condition and then also proves the items I packed in the box. I currently have 4 disputes with them - where I will not accept their offer as they tell me my items either are not in the package I sent or they Considerable signs of wear and age or they Item is incomplete or they say No sales copy. I have emailed them and called them - They are totally unhelpful. I have contacted the CEO - he cant even be bothered to call back or return emails. Disgusting attitude. They never reply to a direct question - they also refuse to view the photos of the items that I took before sending them - are they scarred that I might be right and they will have to pay me. They have no customer service - all the way up to the CEO. I am in the process of putting them through the court system - My Solicitor says I can do this as I have evidence in full. And Momox refuse to answer should be an easy win if they fail to answer. If you have issues with them I would love to hear from you and I will add your complaint to my case.
Well I've tried this service twice now – never again. The first time was just a little tester, and they immediately proved they want everything to be in pristine condition, otherwise they reject it (sometimes they reject it anyway, as I've found to my costly loss). This second occasion has been ridiculous. I built up a large collection to sell to them, as I'd bought a joblot of books, and needed three large and heavy boxes to send them all off. One went, and I listed the entire stock as in that box as it would have taken too much time to delete them all. I made up new sales for the rest of the books on two new invoices, some at highly expanded prices – and they ignored all that, and instead credited me with the quotes from the first box, and pretended I was resolving an 'open sale', or something like that. Copious messages on their contact form have sorted out absolutely nothing about why they have felt free to sting me like this. It's a great shame, as the system works – no size limit on boxes, accepted at Parcelforce or Post Office counters, sent quickly to Leipzig (yes, they're German, and the office is in Berlin) – and generally a quick response (unless they cause you a problem). Momox fit nicely in between the two UK biggies in this trade – not offering the high prices of the best, but accepting different titles to the other – but they will never darken my browser again. I love Germany and all things German but from now I'm selling British.
Box received 10 days ago. Acknowledged. No communication since and logged in today to find the entire order marked as completed with no money due to be paid?! There were items in shrink wrap in that box - how utterly ridiculous. I'm fuming and my messages have gone unanswered.
Recently sold some DVDs to this company. Haven't heard from them for month, but after contacting, got an email back, that my parcel arrived damaged, so they send it back. Reason - poor packaging (new cardboard box, not sure what can be better). Another month later I'm still waiting for my DVDs and not sure will I ever get them back.

I have done many trades on the Momox system.
FAULTLESS!
There are other companies in the UK but not so good.
However if you want a good honest approach and good service - every-time without fail - I'd recommend Momox to anyone.
And thats not something I say lightly - I am the most critical and a proper bulldog that wont let go when something annoys me.
So when Selling - Use Momox
The only thing I would ask of them is that if a customer uses you regularly to sell through you - offer them a code for their future business thus giving the customer a little extra something - 10% or something.
And look forward to the Momox app that works with blackberry - so I can stand in a shop all day scan all their books and buy anything that I can make money from...
Otherwise USE them!
