Ordered a slab of riven slate. Prompt delivery and good price.

Unwrapped slate and it was pretty dirty, but signed for it as it looked superficial. After a good scrub there were three lines of adhesive across the BLACK slate that were WHITE. they were impossible to remove. I emailed and sent pictures.. Response came a week later, saying nothing they could do as I had signed for the delivery all ok. Terrible service. I would not recommend or use again. I spent hours trying everything - risking damage to my slate slab. In the end I scrapped every millimetre off bit by bit with a credit card. No solvent would work. Thanks of no advice and late response. What company sticks their packaging down with adhesive straight on the stone!!!!

When my hearth first arrived, it was unfortunately damaged, and the delivery driver left without checking the condition of the item. Initially, I was disappointed with the company’s response and felt there wasn’t much support.

However, after further communication, the company agreed to send a replacement hearth, which arrived in perfect condition. I appreciate that they ultimately resolved the issue and made things right. While the experience started off frustrating, I’m satisfied with how it was handled in the end.

Their heartstones are NOT for fireplaces with open fire. Only decoration, otherwise the rock will peal and crack as it is not up for a fireplace quality. Bit misleading..

I foolishly ordered a pallet of 350 split face Maxi tiles instead of Mini. The store was quick to arrange pickup of the original pallet and delivery of the replacement; there was also a no-quibble refund of the price difference. Great store (and great tiles to boot).

I purchased a lovely piece of Brazilian Black Riven Slate Hearth. It is of excellent quality and the kerbside pallet delivery process was seamless from receiving a text message delivery window to actually then turning up on time with a very well secured package/pallet.
I also received great communication from Mrs Stone Store from receipt of my purchase and then full delivery instructions. I can highly recommend this company.

I bought 100 sq m of tiles from Mrs Stone Store and despite a mix-up with the first order l negotiated a new choice of product.
With the extremely helpful sales staff l got my deliver to Oban in Scotland. Tv

Ordered & paid for limestone 7 Jan 2025 with delivery due 16 January. 14 January they contacted to say they didn’t have the stone. They offered alternative which I accepted. 15 January they contacted to say they didn’t have the stone. I asked for an immediate refund and ended up taking out a county court summons…. Says it all

Also I requested samples, they never arrived either

Can't fault the service. Ordered a lovely Brazilian slate hearth which arrived the next day well packaged on a pallet. We were so impressed I ordered another one a week later.

Was looking for a heavy slate tile and noticed some via the online website, made a quick call to see if they were in stock and their location. A very polite and knowledgeable person named John on the phone gave all the info i needed along with opening times/directions. once at the store John greeted and informed us about the tiles, took us into the storage area so we could see exactly the look of the tiles he showed us many tiles and we picked what we required. payment was made and the car was loaded. All in all an exceptional service and quality product and a reasonable price. A special mention again to John who was A fantastic person to deal with. I would highly recommend and if your local to them pop in to see there selection as they look far better in real life.

These guys made a slate hearth from a template and diagrams I gave them plus some slim upstands, all in lovely honed slate. They asked lots of questions to be sure they got it just right. Excellent.

I had a problem with the delivery firm which was in no way the fault of the company.John in their sales/customer service went above and beyond to help sort this out.The product itself was perfect and at a great price.Would definitely buy from these guys again and cannot say how thankful I am that John was so helpful as I required the hearth quickly due to deadlines with tradesmen.

Having a bespoke slate hearth made to measure was daunting but Sue at Mrs Stone was so helpful professional and knowledgeable. The communication was excellent the delivery was on time with a very courteous patient driver. Excellent service all round. Highly recommended.

I bought some slate skirting and they were very helpful in arranging a bespoke delivery.

Their website is easy to use and the calculation for delivery is what you pay and not an estimate. After I placed my order I needed to see if I could give some specific delivery instructions as I didn’t see a box on the order form for that.

John, the chap I spoke with was great. Very polite, and told me that he would pass on my instructions to the delivery driver.

Unfortunately, they use 3rd party drivers and the one I got wasn’t, shall we say, customer focused. He denied he had been given instructions. I am inclined not to believe him. But he did end up dropping the order off around the back of the house.

That experience with the driver might have made me drop a star from this review. However, I decided to order more paving stones as my plan for the patio area had changed. I placed another order yesterday and even though I had missed the next day deadline by about an hour, I called up and spoke with a lady this time (sorry, I can’t remember her name) she wasn’t sure if they could do anything for me or not, which I understood. But a little later in the day I got an email telling me that the order will be with me the next day.

I’d say that was going above and beyond. I’m very grateful. Top company with great quality products, and very helpful staff. I would 100% recommend them.

Arranged for delivery of tiles for Friday 21st June between 9am-6pm and stayed in all day for the tiles to not be delivered!! Was told they would call an hour before arriving and we never received a call. Was going to give them the benefit of the doubt and wait til 5pm (an hour before the end of the time slot) but then realised they close at 5pm and are not open on weekends! So we have paid for these tiles (and £50 delivery) and have not received them. Also upon looking at the confirmation email they have said the tiles will be delivered on the 21st May…which has already been and gone so clearly someone has made a huge mistake! So disappointing as there are so many good reviews! We have emailed them but of course no one will be getting back to us until Monday!

We were quoted over £350-400 in Edinburgh for our riven slate hearth so we decided to look online rather than source locally…

So glad we did was £65 for 3 slate tiles and same again for delivery, arrived within a 5 days and is perfect. Great quality and had all the beautiful detail you look for in a natural stone.

Would recommend for those looking for a cheaper option and there was no compromise on quality!

The quality of the black slate stone hearth tiles we bought for our fire place were very good quality. Price was very reasonable and the customer service off the company was outstanding .Highly recommended.
