I booked an appointment for 11:00 am to have four Pirelli Cinturato P7 tyres fitted and a wheel alignment.

My partner, our 3-year-old child, and I drove 1 hour and 45 minutes from Airlie Beach, covering a 150 km one way, and arrived at 10:50 am. I had expected the work to be completed within the reserved time slot of 11:00 am to 12:30 pm, but was told that the drop-off time was delayed until 1:30 pm. Then, my car’s pick-up time was pushed to 3:30 pm, and in the end, I wasn’t able to pick up my car until 4:45 pm—nearly 4 hours after my original reservation time.

I did confirm with Mycar Mackay on 20 January at 10:22 am that the tyres would be ready for my appointment on 28 January. They assured me everything was set. However, upon arrival, the situation was far from what I was told.

This long wait was an inconvenience for my family, particularly since we had already made the effort to travel such a long distance.

To make matters worse, I discovered that the tyres fitted to my car were not the Pirelli Cinturato P7 tyres I had paid for, but instead, lower-grade Powergy tyres. This is a serious breach of trust and completely unacceptable.

I was also told that I could not get a direct contact number or email for the business, which I later found out was not true.

Julie, the receptionist, was unhelpful from the start, dismissing my concerns when I insisted on the 11:00 am appointment. It’s not my problem if other customers arrived earlier than their booking time. I had a reservation, and it should have been honoured.

After all of this, I ultimately gave up on the idea of driving another 300 km round trip to have the tyres replaced. It’s simply not worth my time to deal with Mycar Mackay again.

This entire experience was frustrating, inconvenient, and disappointing. I had expected much better service and professionalism, especially after driving such a long distance.

The staff were brilliant. I purchased my tyres from them during a service about 6 weeks ago and yesterday got a flat tyre. While driving on the spare took the new tyre to them and on inspection they said it would be they would replace it under warranty as it was damaged because I had driven on it while it was flat as I had no where to pull over. I was only asking for them to fix the puncture. They replaced it and put it back on the car for me with no charges. Will be back for my next service or tyres.

Left cap and filter off brake fluid reservoir, luckily I checked and found them in bonnet well.
Noted screw missing from washer bottle, but didn’t replace it. Would have thought one screw could be replaced in a $1500 major service.
Might go elsewhere next time

Absolutely Fantastic service from the team at the Mackay branch. Call around lunch time to see if I could book in to get my tyre repaired. Not only was I able to drop it straight off but they fixed it there and then. Team was also super friendly. Will go back if I get another puncture.

I contacted the call centre and told them the exact tyre I needed (Continental Contact Sport 5) as I only wanted one as it had to match the other three tyres on the vehicle. I was informed it wasn’t in stock and would take a couple days to come in. After a week the tyre was fitted with a Contact Sport 6. I went back the following day to ask why I didn’t get what I asked for and was told that the Sport 6 has replaced the Sport 5 and they didn’t make them anymore. I was also told it wouldn’t matter as they’re the same pattern but I can clearly see they are not. If I couldn’t be supplied the tyre I asked for I should’ve been told at the time as I had other tyre fitters that could get the tyre I wanted. Frustrating to spend over $600 on a tyre and not get the correct one.

Booked in for 11am booking, but was told on arrival should have brought the car in at 8am because it's an Saturday. It still got done but there was obviously lack of communication before hand.

Did not carry out the issues that were raised when booking my car for service.
Didn't check fault codes as instructed.
Refused to stamp my service manual.
There is more to this.
I won't be back.

I booked my car in for 4 new tyres on the Monday, Saturday morning I woke up really sick and couldnt get anyone to take my car in for me, I rolled up Monday morning still sick as a dog and the guys realised I was really sick and did my car straight away so I could get back home and die peacefully. Thankyou guys it was very much appreciated and good job on my car.

I rang my local store to be put through to an operator who booked an appointment for the following Tuesday as i had a a flat tyre which are run flats my husband left work 3 hours early to make the appointment to be told the tyre were not in stock and would take 8 days to receive actually took 10
Took almost 2 hours to change one tyre
Not happy i have purchased my last 3 sets of tyres not sure if i will be back with this poor service
