I order one manual in the trial period, after receiving the manual ( only wanted one) I then cancelled my subscription within the trial period and received confirmation of my cancellation…all within the trial period. Despite this I was charged the monthly charge of £24.90 for the monthly charge. After daily communication…where the refused to acknowledge this cancellation.
Today finally they have but no refund offered. This means that the manual received cost a third of the price of the Honeywell programmer.
I believe this site is set up to mislead. You can’t just order one manual even in what is a “trial” period, without being locked into a monthly subscription.

This type of trading should be outlawed. Whilst not illegal it is downright deceitful. It should be made clear in 12" high letters exactly what people are signing up to. One for Trading Standards to pursue.

Company lures you in with inexpensive manuals but there is a price to pay. I wrote this to obtain a refund.
When ordering your user manual, you have also subscribed to our premium service. This offer includes a 3 days trial period for £1.49. After this period as shown and mentioned on our website our premium service is automatically charged as a monthly subscription for £24.90.
Thank you for your email. I think it's a sneaky way to take money by including it in your terms and conditions which, I'm sure you will be aware of, most people don't read. Terms and conditions have to be reasonable and not overly onerous. I did not see it it referenced on any pages I visited or I would have reacted. I can't get onto your site as it just takes me to login to my account. So I am unable to read your website. I don't know if this is legal but I will certainly check it out. I wonder how many other people have fallen foul of this deplorable way of a firm making money and doing nothing for it because I, for one, won't have the need to look for manuals in the future but if I did I would approach the manufacturer

We have received your refund request for a transaction of £24.9 and we proceeded to this one.
This refund will be made on the account of the payment card used for payment and should appear on your next bank statement within 7 days maximum.

COMPLETE AND UTTER SCAMMERS. Once this company has hold of your credit card details they take a recurring £24.90 out of your account allegedly to pay for your ‘subscription’. We paid £1.49 for a one-off purchase of a manual and certainly didn’t sign up for a subscription. Who would want a subscription to a manuals company? We are going to check our statements very carefully as who knows where our credit card details could go next? Why are they still in business? They need closing down by Trading Standards asap and we shall be contacting them.

Utter con.
Avoid.
If used beware that there is a monthly subscription which will be taken after three days. The email confirmation does not mention this, and they will not refund.

Utter SCAM!
I was looking for a manual for my induction hob. Came across their website, entered my item details, and it said a manual was available to download.
A subscription charge of £ 1.49 for a 3-day trial did not seem unreasonable.
However, the next day I got an email to say they didn't actually have a manual for my device and needed further information. So it was an out-and-out lie!!! To add insult to injury, I cancelled my subscription one day too late and got hit for another £24.90 which they are refusing to refund.

Needed a workshop manual for a motorcycle, found in MyManual and purchased for £1.60. Was not a workshop manual but the basic owners manual. Found correct item free online, missed their instant (background) subscription fee of £25 so a bit ripped off Avoid using them

I have had the same experience as everybody else. I did not read the T&C, which is normally legal stuff, but on reading theirs retrospectively, it is not compliant as it excludes all legally required statements and only talks about their offer, which should not be hidden behind a tick box.

Update to my previous posting. By continually harrassing My Manuals, refusing to accept their Terms and Conditions, reporting them to my credit card provider and to Trading Standards (UK & EU) I have now received a full refund. No apology just their usual cut and paste responses. Don't give up on chasing them, they will give in and eventually give up or have their 'fraudulent' website taken down by the authorities. I know it's early but Happy Christmas :-D

Similar experience to others. Clearly a scam and the company should be taken down. £1.49 paid for an initial manual and then £24.90 taken shortly afterwards for subscription I did not know I had taken out. Appalling and yet this company still comes up first on a Google search.
Update: Have been issued with a refund after writing an email referring to this thread and suggesting that I would write to The Guardian and Which about their methods.

Same as everyone else, total scam. Charges you £24.90 3 days after the initial payment, but doesn't specify that will happen anywhere you can actually see.

Disgraceful scammers and the scum of the earth. I won't repeat everyone else's words, but I have reported them to Visa fraud and from that, the police. May karma take care of the rest.
UPDATE: After my truthful report, Mymanuals have NOT tried to contact me, and I wouldn't lower myself into contacting them to get nowhere again. It seems compulsive lies are just the norm with these pirates, and putting the same automated response at the end of each negative review means nothing either. If you wanna do something constructive, use my £24.90 and save up for a manual on how to use your brain.

I requested a manual for my Zanussi Fridge Freezer and they sent me the wrong one, then told me that they did not have the right one. Despite numerous emails I have been unable to get a refund.
Another important point is that once you order a manual at the very reasonable price of £1.49 you are also signing up to a monthly subscription of £29.00. You need to cancel this as soon as your manual arrives
I see why they don't take Pay Pal. It's a rip off and Pay Pal would refund. Firms like this give internet shopping a bad name
A reply after 4 months, No name No refund No GOOD

Total scam. When you ring the to complain you get a "customer service" individual who can't understand when you are phonetically spelling your email address to him (he struggles without that to communicate) that before you get to the @gmail.com part he can't find you on their records. YES he's that stupid he thinks you have already given the full email address before the "@"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Total scam. They ( like most of these "automatic subscriptions") rely on people not resizing what they are signing up to or forgetting to cancel with the "trial" period and therefore they extract at least one payment before it can be stopped. Surely the system needs to change the onus should be on the companies to seek a take up of the subscription offer after the trial period. I am sure they have done their legal home but morally they must know it's wrong

Ditto, ditto, ditto. Scammers!! I got my £24.90 back via my bank. Give it a go. If you need it, Trustpilot will make great evidence. Watch out! Oddly, they still have the right to appeal.

I paid £1.49 for an iPhone manual which I expected to be a simplified version of the standard manual. All I got was the standard iPhone 14 guide from Apple which I already had. They also tried taking £25 for a subscription. I regard this as a scam.

Ditto previous responder. Goodbye £24.99. MUST read the small print - beware these scummy swine who sound genuine but are not. Couldn't even find the manual I needed, so an extra £1.49 gone. Alas, if it sounds to be too good to be true, .....
UPDATE! After sending them a steaming email telling them what I thought about them and who I was going to contact to publicise their activity (BBC Watchdog / Police / Banks etc) they have advised that my £24.99 is to be refunded. Will appear in my bank account in the next 7 days. We shall see.....
Update!! In response to my threatening email, lo and behold... a refund of the £24.90 this morning (18.10.22). Couldn't believe it!
Happy days. Maybe the critical threat was Watchdog - look at their website for info. Best of luck to all of you who have fallen prey to these scammers.

Like all the reviewers below, I was tricked into taking out a monthly subscription of £24.90 by this company. I saw nothing on the part of their website I was on which mentioned this subscription and thought I was only paying £1.49 for a manual. Neither did they mention it in the email they sent me which the manual was attached to.
I only discovered the payment several days later when I checked my credit card account.
When I emailed the company they agreed to cancel the subscription but not to refund the initial £24.90.
At first my bank declined to refund me this amount but luckily the bank’s complaints department did refund the money as a goodwill gesture.
Definitely a company to avoid!!!

I got lucky! After paying £1.49 for a manual they attempted to deduct £24.90 from my account, thankfully my bank declined it and contacted me and i was able to refuse payment. What a bunch if scammers!
