A total scam

A total scam, like many others I purcahsed a manual for £1.49, my bank contacted me and told me that mymanuals had tried to get £24.90 from my account, Itold the bank not to pay this amount, I also contacted mymanuals and told them in no uncertain terms that I had not taken out any subscription with them & that they would only receive £1.49 for the manual I downloaded. STAY WELL CLEAR OF THESE CON MEN.

everything you read above is true

Yes everything you read above is correct. £1.49 for a manual that arrived after a phone call...then a monthly charge of £24.90 which my bank spotted and had to cancel card. Made me feel like a fool

SCAM SCAM SCAM….

SCAM SCAM SCAM….. steer clear of it what should have been £1.49 for a motorhome book has which I could not download has cost me £24.90 I called to complain and get my money back to be told it should be done within 3 days and is on the website payment comes out after the 3 days so you don’t know you’ve subscribe to anything, and nowhere on my input did the mention about subscription STEER CLEAR FROM THEM

BEWARE this lot are scam artists, fraudsters.

BEWARE, SCAM ARTISTS. LESS THAN 2 QUID FOR THE MANUAL, THEN 3 DAYS LATER TRIED TO TAKE A FURTHER 24.00. MY BANK SPOTTED IT, AND WARNED ME. HOWEVER, STILL, A BIT OF A NUISANCE AS THE OLD CARD HAD TO BE CANCELLED AND A NEW ONE ISSUED. SO I THINK THEY ARE ALL STINKING FRAUDSTERS AND SHOULD BE IN PRISON, WHERE THEY BELONG.

Con job

Con job. They don't make it clear at all that you'll be automatically enrolled on subscription. Refused my refund because I had 'agreed' with their terms. Scoundrels

Refund

Like many before me, I got stung with a £24.90 subscription for something I hadn’t signed up for. So after contacting my bank who stopped all further payments, I contacted second manuals and received an apology and an immediate refund. Still underhanded how they take the money but credit where credit is due.

Same as everyone else. This is a scam and they take your money but don’t give you the right manual and then won’t refund any payments. Keep well away!

An absolute waste of time

An absolute waste of time
Absolutely useless!! After requesting a manual for a burglar alarm they emailed me saying they found it. I paid the £1.45 fee then opened the PDF. They sent a manual on how to assemble a kitchen cabinet. Not much use to me, I'm a joiner so I sort of know how already. I asked for a refund and got an email saying I had signed up for a monthly subscription of 100s of manuals for £24.90 per month. Not to my knowledge I did. I contacted my bank to put a block on them to stop payment. Still no refund!!
These robbers are best avoided

Edit; It's been almost 12 months since I wrote the above and for some strange reason Trustpilot want me to provide proof I was scammed by mymanuals. Luckily I kept all the emails I sent them and have passed the evidence onto Trustpilot that I was indeed a genuine "customer" of mymanuals and I did get ripped off by them. Best stay away from these thieves or you will regret it!!

Are you kidding me? You say you've tried to contact me?? It's been 11 months + since I was contacting you explaining the situation. And now you tell me you have been trying to contact me! with a view to resolve the situation. I don't suppose it has anything to do with you trying to get Trustpilot to delete all unverified negative posts. I have not heard from you in all this time. So as a consequence, my truthful and honest review stays as a warning to others to avoid you at all costs. Edit date 28/2/23.

Do Not Use My Manuals.

Who but a trader might want a subscription to multiple manuals? I got caught by their subscription trap too. If you’re ordering a manual from your phone there’s no mention of a subscription on the opening page - you have to search the T&Cs and further into their website. I had no email from them regarding any subscription or account details. Contacted the bank and them to make sure nothing more is taken and to try and get a refund. Avoid like the plague.
I eventually got everything refunded but I had to be persistent and deal with obtuse call centre staff caveat emptor!

DON'T GIVE UP!...I got a refund.

I had dealings with these people BEFORE reading any reviews. What could go wrong..I thought!. I paid my £1.49 then, a couple of days ago got a debit on my Mastercard for £24.90. I hadn't authorised this and complained but got a reply saying that in 'my journey' thro' their website I HAD subscribed. Not one to give up easily, I protested strongly stating that I would take the matter further as I was 77 and their business practices were dreadful...hiding behind 'small print' and lack of transparency. After a 2nd email they REFUNDED by £24.90 and cancelled my unauthorised subscription. I thanked them for their action. Lesson " Don't give up" !!

Only use if you know your legal rights

They will bill you nearly £25 each month after your £1.50 purchase. It's in the small print, but know about your distance selling regulations wherever you live. My advice? Contact the original product vendor not this third party. Avoid like the plague. Caveat emptor. Buyer beware.

Asked to review it one year on. My advice stands. Read the small print before you end up with a subscription you don't want.

The reply is something, but the site is one that needs careful consideration before you purchase anything. It's an excellent example of why you need to read the small print.

Total scam

Total scam! Do not use!
Got stung for £24.90 for something I didn’t agree to or wanted.
Nowhere is it made clear that you are entering a contract, apart from the small print about terms. Nothing mentioned in a confirmation email; they just take your money. My ‘consolation’ : every review and write-up mentions CON and SCAM
Too late to do anything about it, I tried, the money has been taken and they won’t refund it

Yet another MyManuals scam victim

Exactly as described by other users. Ordered a manual & paid. Sent the wrong manual so that by the time I had received the correct one they had activated the subscription, which wasn’t clearly identified when I originally signed up anyway.
Luckily, I have stopped this after just one payment but it would have been all too easy for them to keep the scam going.

I brought 1 manual at £1.49 on a Friday…

I brought 1 manual at £1.49 on a Friday evening they took £24.90 from my bank on Monday morning. They will not refund, the whole thing is a scam and they are keeping funds falsely

Absolute scam

This company is a scam and should be avoided at all cost.
They did not send the right manual!
I signed up on the pretence its a one off payment only to find its 3 payment followed by a monthly payment of £25 for 4cyears (cancelled anytime)
I cancelled only to get a standard email back acknowledging my cancellation but not actually saying its cancelled.
I've cancelled with my bank!

Watch out for subscription charge of £25!

Like others I got caught out. Bought a manual for £1.49 and never saw the subscription information. It is obvious if you go to the home page but, if you search for a specific manual you don't see it. I have given 2* because they did refund, but only after I said I would take it through Barclaycard. Others don't seem to have been so fortunate. I will never use this company again and I advise you to avoid likewise.

It seems this company is not willing to just sell to you

It seems this company is not willing to sel you a product without signing you up to a subscription service. I ordered a manual and they offered a three day trial of there service for £1.50 I did not agree to this and just ordered the manual. They then took the £.50 from my bank account plus £24.90 for the manual the next month the took another £24.90 from my account when challenged they said I signed up for the 3 day trial and did not cancel within the 3 days therefore had agreed to there premier subscription. I have told my bank to refuse any more request for payment and went on to the website to cancel the subscription when I tried to log on they stated that they did not recognise my email address as being a subscriber. It stinks and I agree with others on this is a company to steer well clear of

Avoid this site

Avoid this site, or be aware that within 3 days of paying for a manual, unless you specifically cancel, they will deduct almost £25 on a monthly basis. Scam. In my case, the manual they provided was not even the correct one for the product.
