Not what i expected, this outfit should not be allowed to trade Claimed they could not find my manual but still charged me £24.95. I have cancelled the subscription and spoken to the company. Very disappointed. Web users beware avoid at all cost.

I only give one star because I can't give zero! Like others on this site I consider them at the very least to be con artists; possibly they have crossed the line to be fraudsters. At all stages of the "purchase" it appears to be a one-off transaction; even their T's and C's when fully read are not explicit as to the level of subscription. It's buried at the bottom right of the payment screen which itself is headed up "amount due £1.49".

Similar experience as others. Crooks !!!!

I'm nearly eighty; I bought a new LG television and needed a manual on the remote control. Searching online I found Second Manual(SM). I like others I paid £1.49. on the 23/08/2021. Because of my stupidity and ill health I haven't been checking my bank account. I have now found out that over the last three months they have removed a total of £74.70 without my authorisation. SM come back with my request to cancel this so called monthly subscription, claiming a technical problem and now further asking for more of my banking details. Talking with my bank today and if advised I intend to contact the Irish police as it shows a Dublin address, but really don't hold out much hope. What a fool I have been.

This is a Scam, Con or Sharp Practice site...AVOID!! I ordered a Dimplex Manual on 23rd Oct 2021 which was Downloaded. 2 Days later on 25th Oct 2021 checking my Tesco Clubcard Statement, I had been charged £24.90 for a Service which I did NOT order or want. Because Order, Receipt and Download are made on their website...there is no trace on my Emails. I contacted Tescobank Security rightaway to block any future charges being made to my account and start the process for a Chargeback...and cancelled it also on the PXT.mymanuals.net website.

I like several others have been scammed by this deplorable people. I was contacted by them offering me a recipe booklet for my Ninja blender/soup maker which they sent me to download and print from my computer, this for £1.49. 2 days later they have taken £24.90 from my account. I have contacted my bank fraud team and am contacting Trading Standards. This im my view is daylight robbery.

So grateful to the previous reviewers who have saved me from getting caught the same way. Like them, I did not see any information about subscription payments - can this be legal!?

I ordered a manual, as others have, at a cost of £1.49.
Unlike others I did actually get my manual (which they sent as an email attachment, as the link they gave me did not work).
On checking my Bank account last evening I noticed that £1.49 was taken followed by £24.90 3 days later.
I sent the company an email querying the charge and requesting a refund of the £24.90/cancellation of the subscription, that I wasn’t even aware I had entered into.
The reply email stated that it was very clear through the ordering process and therefore they would not refund £24.90 but would cancel my subscription.
It is not made clear.
This is diabolical!!!!

Following on from the above review, and several emails later, Mymanuals have agreed to refund the £24.90, they originally said they would not.
Kind of a result, but should never have happened in the first place.

I think this is how what is basically a scam works: You search for a manual and are unlucky enough to land on their website. In my case, the manual they supplied was for a different product from a different manufacturer – not even close! I asked for my £1.49 back with no result and I assumed that they were just making lots of £1.49's from people who couldn't be bothered to chase such a small sum. Two months later I noticed an unfamiliar payment of £24.90 to PTX-Firstmaunual.com. They claim that I have subscribed to their premium service!
They immediately agree to cancel the subscription but will only refund payments made within the last 14 days. In other words, they are relying on people NOT checking their bank statements and forfeiting all other payments to these thieves.
I'm going to report all this to my bank in the hope that there is some kind of database that deals with this kind of thing – if there isn't, there ought to be!

Be warned - they make you think you are paying just over a pound for a manual and then charge you nearly £25 for a subscription service you don't realise you are signing up for !!!!

Theiving low lifes.
Did not get manual for appliance requested, so requested a refund only to be told its a 3 day free trial for £1.49 ??? Then £24 onwards. I will be advising my bank to refuse payment requests

Do not use this company as previous posts this is extremely underhand way of deceiving people

Has anyone ever written to watchdog or trading standards about this company. Its disgusting that they take money out of people's account. I will be doing so

I was also conned. Paid £1.49 for a manual, then, three days later £24.90 taken on my credit card. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!

Reply from Mymanuals
i have also been conned, no mention of a trial that i could see, paid £1.49 and got wrong info so emailed them and got correct manual, next day 24.90
apparently its all in the T&Cs, so beware in future.

I would give no stars if possible . They are scammers. Hide their subscription sign up so it’s easily missed. I agreed to a one off £1:49 not £24:90 per month.

Like many others I have fallen foul of this very dishonest company. I paid £1.49 for a manual which when I got access to the site I could not find. After an email they then sent a two page document which did not provide me with the information I needed. I had not seen the subscription information in their site as it’s easily missed. Three days later £24.90 taken from my bank account. That’s over £26 for two A4 pages. I have now emailed three times and while they have agreed to cancel future subscriptions they refuse to refund my £24.90. I have told them this review is being posted but can be subject to change if my money is refunded. This has to be bordering on illegal and as a senior citizen has rocked my faith in companies who appear genuine but are clearly not.
Since writing this review about one hour ago I have now received an apology for any inconvenience from my manuals with confirmation that my “ subscription” is cancelled and the payment of £24.90 taken from my bank account at beginning of October will be refunded within 7 working days. I am happy this matter is now closed however public shaming should not be necessary to get satisfaction.

Wish I’d read some reviews before buying a manual for £1.70 and then not picking up subscription terms of £24.90 a few days later. Robbery

I can only add to the already almost 100% negative reviews. They really are the ultimate scammers. When you go to them - the vast majority just wanting ONE manual - you are offered a price of £1.49. In the small print however it says that if you do not cancel within 3 days they will charge you another £24.90!!! First, the manual they sent was the wrong one and completely useless. I missed the 3 day cutoff for cancellation by TWO HOURS. They took the £24.90 anyway and just refuse to engage. I offered to accept £15 back as a gesture but they just keep sending exactly the same automatic response email not even acknowledging any of my points. These people are obvious crooks with no business ethics whatsoever. STAY AWAY FROM BOTH MYMANUALS.NET AND SECONDMANUALS .COM - THEY ARE THE SAME COMPANY - TOTAL SCAMMERS
