Incorrect Repair, Missed Basic Checks, and No Accountability
The windscreen replacement carried out on 16 February 2024 was incorrect and not in line with manufacturer specifications.
Mercedes-Benz Nottingham confirmed that the wrong windscreen model was installed, glue was used where a click‑in system is required, and the wipers and trims were refitted incorrectly.
This has voided my Mercedes warranty.
When I complained about the wipers malfunctioning, National Windscreens sent someone to my home the same day, but the issue was not fixed and the technician did not identify that the wipers had been built incorrectly. This is something that should have been tested before releasing the car to the customer.
Although the branch had a few chairs, they were placed directly beside someone’s working desk, with no visible water or bathroom facilities. Instead of offering a proper waiting area, I was instructed to go to the shopping centre while the work was being done. This reflects the overall lack of professionalism I experienced.
I have raised a formal complaint with Aviva regarding the workmanship and the impact caused.

I had the windscreen replaced on the 16/03/26 at the ADAS centre in Leicester but on collection I was informed that they could not calibrate the ADAS camera and that they would have to fit another windscreen after 7 days and hopefully that will solve the problem, the vehicle is booked in for 25/03/26 so fingers crossed they will be able to do the re calibration on the camera and I will be happy to revisit this review
