The soup flavour was lentil and bacon. Plenty of lentils and veggies but the bacon consisted of tiny squares of meat all exactly the same size. It was tasteless and thin. I couldn’t finish it and thre... See more

Well done Covent Garden soup company
Well, I love Covent Garden soups and was upset when I found something hard in my mushroom soup, turned out it was a piece of plant, customer service have been excellent and very concerned to find out what it was, can’t have asked for better customer service, compensated with vouchers happy customer!
Bland
I had the vegetable soup with some bread for lunch today, when I opened the carton the soup smelt amazing! However, it was incredibly bland. I added a knob of butter, some salt and pepper which barely helped. I didn't enjoy it but forced it down as I was hungry. Regretting that now (a few hours later) as I've just been violently sick. I don't have any allergies or intolerances so I'm very surprised it made me ill, the soup was in date and only bought yesterday. I also have not eaten anything else today so it must have been the soup. I will not be buying the vegetable soup again and after reading the reviews for the other flavours I probably will not be buying those either! Very disappointed especially since I had really been looking forward to it.
Potato soup, not chicken soup
Used to love the chicken soup as an ‘old faithful’. It never had many chicken pieces in it, but I didn’t mind because it still tasted like chicken.
Now it’s just potato soup with a couple (literally 2, in my case) of tiny chicken shreds. I don’t even mind potato soup, but I’d buy it if I wanted it!
I’ve been having Cully & Sully a lot lately so I’ll go back to them, but it’s a shame because I did enjoy the old NCG recipe.
New recipe?!
The recipe has obviously changed since I last had this chicken soup as the first taste I had was potato, which was reflected by the ingredient list (20%) However, I found it very tasty despite the reduction of chicken pieces, as personally I found it too thick before for a light lunch.
Very disappointed with the soup,
Very disappointed with the soup,
I'm sure when the chicken soup first came out, it had large bits of chicken in. Now hardly any chicken in the soup. I won't be buying their products anymore.
What Happened? Bland and Watery Soups
What have you done to your soups? I’ve had a few recently and they are bland and tasteless - they used to be delicious. The mushroom soup tasted like watery soil, in other words very earthy. I like mushrooms but yuk. The leek and potato, again, watery and bland.
I can only imagine that you are trying to save money. Won’t be buying any Covent Garden soup again - it’s not worth the price.
How is this possible?
Can you make a really disgusting mushroom soup? Well, clearly it’s possible; Covent Garden soups have excelled themselves in this department. If you fancy a bowl of steaming salty water with minute specks of tasteless mushroom, this is the soup for you. My daughter reluctantly ate a bowl. Mine went down the sink after 3 small spoonfuls of disbelief. How anyone can charge for this muck is beyond me. Never again. Back to making my own.
Mushroom soup is absolutely…
Mushroom soup is absolutely disgusting!! It’s lumpy, not refined and has the mouth feel of vomit. It’s just NOTHING like it used to be, it used to be super. Wouldn’t spend another penny on this brand anymore.
Poor quality mushroom soup
Glad I have just read the poor reviews of Covent Garden soups. Seriously thought my taste buds were diminishing when I bought the mushroom soup recently. It used to be the most delicious soup but is now quite awful. Full of tasteless mushroom and rice flavoured. Such a shame was one of my favourite lunchtime meals. Would prefer to pay more money than discounted rubbish. And true about opening the carton. Very difficult.
Potato flavoured classic chicken soup
This says Classic Chicken Soup on the front but above ingredients it says chicken and potato soup. The texture and taste are definitely potato. This soup is awful. It is nowhere like the soup it used to be. I will not be buying any more of their soups.
Covent Garden mushroom yuck
I really fancied mushroom soup today , creamy velvety mushroom soup and WHAT A LET DOWN ‘NEW Covent Garden mushroom soup ‘ is , if I wanted want mushroom and rice soup I would have bought mushroom and rice soup , every spoonful is so bland with a horrible texture of rice the later of which is not displayed on the front of the carton, to make mushroom soup creamy use cream ,milk or a vegan substitute not none at all , absolutely rubbish!
Deceitful shrinkflation merchants
Serving size has dropped 40g whilst packaging is still the same size. Deceitful and cheeky. Also, some recipes seem to have changed - Vegetable has an unpleasant taste, Tomato & Basil is not as rich as it used to be. Carrot & Coriander is still in the fridge but I don’t have high hopes. Will not but again until they stop these deceptive practices.
This soup should not contain chicken in…
This soup should not contain chicken in its name.
There is absolutely no chicken. Just watery potato soup.
The size of the container has also been reduced.
It used to be our favourite soup!
Not buying again 😡

Mushroom soup, awful thin and tasteless! I will never buy again! This used to be very good!

It appears that the chicken soup recipe…
It appears that the chicken soup recipe now has less chicken and tastes watery in comparison to original?
awful
the worst soup ive ever had, gave me food poisoning, dreadful customer service
Very little chicken in classic chicken soup
I have always really liked the classic chicken soup but recently although it still tastes good there are very few chicken chunks in it. The last few I've had had no more than 3 chicken chunks. Very disappointing. Is this something I can expect from all future cartons?
