Poor customer service

Poor customer service. They do free shuttle runs for customers to the airport but wouldn't drop us only 1km down the road even though the shuttle driver volunteered to and we had huge bags, the manager said no and stopped him.
They hung onto my Aus$1,000 deposit for over 2 weeks for no reason and with no apology or explanation despite chasingthis on several occasions. Really poor customer service all round.

Hired a Mitsubishi ASX from the Greenwood office

We hired a Mitsubishi ASX for just under 3 weeks with Northside Rentals, where we picked up from the Greenwood site. The staff were super friendly and helpful and made all the imporant information really easy to understand. The car was absolutely perfect for our trip and we would not hesitate to hire another car from them. Thank you!

Very disappointing with this…

Very disappointing with this organization this rental car company. Picked up the car the car was not filled with petrol, and l had to stop and fill close to$30 worth of petrol, ask to be reimbursed, the response give that in the condition report it shows a photo of the petrol level and I'm to fill it to that level, a guessing game!?? not to mention my photo was completely blurry and the person couldn't be bothered to take another photo and send me a good photo that I could actually see the indication and so I ring up the company and ask can you give me the methodologies of how I am to guess where to fill the petrol seeing you're not going to give me a reimbursement. All the person could do was argue the point deflect my concern and then tell me I was giving him a hard time and hung up on me. In the whole 30 something years that I have been hiring cars I've never come across such poor service not only that when I spoke to them last night and asked them where they were at the airport which they aren't actually at the airport it was a $40 ride in a taxi, in speaking from the airport I was not told there were shuttle buses. So even though this company says they are located at the airport they are far from the airport. This organisation is the worst I've ever hired cars from and I've hired cars all around the world and in my own country it's disgraceful. In the 21century a person has to guess to fuel up a car, that speaks scam to me, and if it's not enough they'll hit your credit card with some astronomical unrealistic figure. That they've guessed... Ridiculously disappointing and I would not recommend this organization to anyone. Customer service was all about deflecting and the guy taking my conversation person, certainly was not solution driven at all. The further on looking over my contracted to work out my allotment of Km I find my contract tells me almost 200km as the starting figure more than the blurry photo they emailed. How is that? So onto them again to fix that up mistake as the daily kilometre rate is 100km I guess I'd have had my credit card carded their excess if I'd not pick it up. Basic maths skills a line of 5 numbers. Oh boy...

Easy Hire - 12 Seater

Hired the 12 seater for a reasonable price. Delivered in clean condition and great drive. Used after hours pickup which was very easy and return was simple. Highly recommend!!!

Great Rental Company

The rental prices are awesome. The cars are immaculate. The staff were very knowledgeable. The only downside was the location for pick up and drop off. Very satisfied.

Northside rentals…

The staff at Northside rentals Greenwood, where professional, friendly and easy to deal with. The truck was spotless inside, easy to drive and we used very little fuel during our run. Our overall experience was fabulous, easy and would highly recommend.

Careful with the "luxury" car rental. They beautifully rectified the issue!

I appreciated the pricing, as they offered "Lux" cars (Infinity) for a very reasonable rate ($54 per day). The insurance conditions were clearly displayed. However, the "lux" Infinity Q70 I received was far from being in decent condition: it had multiple scratches, holes in the seats, and dents. Initially, I was willing to overlook these issues, but then I noticed that the interior of the car hadn't been cleaned, with stains and tears present, and the plastic surfaces were greasy. When I used a wet wipe on the steering wheel and gear handle, it turned yellow-brownish, revealing layers of dirt and emitting a foul odour.
Moreover, the fuel consumption of the sedan vehicle exceeded 13 litres per 100 kilometres in eco mode (over 16 litres in Normal mode), significantly surpassing the anticipated efficiency and potentially doubling the fuel expenses. Additionally, the outdated Bluetooth system in the vehicle failed to properly connect with my iPhone 11 Pro, meaning there was no handsfree functionality or Bluetooth music streaming. The absence of adaptive cruise control was also a notable drawback, particularly for long journeys and navigating unfamiliar roads. On a positive note, the car had a sunroof.
Overall, we likely wouldn't have complained if it weren't for the odour and dirty interior, but we would have definitely been disappointed with the "lux" Infinity.
So why the 5 stars? Well, the issue with the Infinity was a significant oversight in my opinion. Customers should be made aware of such car conditions.
However, it was how they HANDLED the situation that impressed me. Instantly after receiving my complaint (we tried to make peace with the car for a couple of days), they instantly apologised and kindly offered a substitution, which was actually a significant upgrade to a new 4WD. We had the option to swap either at their airport office or at the northern office, which was only a small deviation from our route (we chose the latter). The replacement car had everything the Infinity lacked, and the fuel consumption for the trip was around 9 litres per 100 km, significantly better than the previous car. Additionally, we were able to visit a couple of places where the Infinity would have been unsuitable. The swap was done quickly, with the necessary paperwork prepared, and they even did an extra clean-up to ensure everything was perfect.
This was our first time in WA, and I must say that the initial issue with the Infinity was completely overshadowed by the substitution. Thank you, Northside, for making our road trip so much better!
Just a recommendation: I would suggest informing people in advance about shuttle operating hours (both of our flights fell outside of the small operating window – they were after 4pm). Uber costed less than $20 each way.
FYI: they seem to charge the card on the first rental day if you book through their website, which worked well for me. The drop-off process simply involves returning the key to reception, with the invoice being sent digitally – good, because Airport office can get pretty busy. For that reason, I also recommend to check-in digitally through their website to make the car pick-up so much easier and quicker. Lastly, there was a deposit of $1000, which is returned within 5-7 business days.
And again: thank you Northside! We loved our Western Australia trip and you played a significant role in it, too!

Awesome!

A great, low-cost rental company with great vehicles. Dan was awesome and communicated with us regularly. His service made our experience extremely positive. Would happily rent again with Northside next time we are in Broome.

A great value rental with customer…

A great value rental with customer service that doesn't just treat you like a number...as some others do!
I really appreciate the service and most competitive rental rate in Perth. The car was in pristine condition and was more than I expected..
Thank you Northside Rentals for another top rental car...I will return when I need another car to rent..
Also the low vehicle insurance excess is another bonus with Northside... Thanks again..
I highly recommend to anyone looking to rent a car , truck or 4WD!

Always a pleasure dealing with NSR

Always a pleasure dealing with NSR! Always providing a reliable clean and tidy vehicle to suit my needs at a very reasonable price. Never have I had any problems with the staff after many times hiring vehicles.
