Cancelled Flight Refund
I had booked 2 tickets in 2019 for my parents to fly to Chicago for their anniversary. Both flights were cancelled during 2020 and I have been fighting since to get my money back of nearly £900.
Norwegian airlines refuse to give my money back and no longer flies to Chicago. They now only fly within Europe. I was ONLY given the option to use “cash points” and not a refund (as everyone is entitled to if they cancel the flight). They hounded me with emails for weeks stating “convert them now before you lose your money etc”. I have been battling this for over 2 years with a response once every few months with the same nonsense.
I will not be backing down as I was never offered a refund. It seems like many other people are in this situation too!
Great experience
First time with Norwegians. A trip to Amsterdam and everything just went well and smooth. Effective app and kind kabine crew. Not last time using Norwegians
I was scammed by booking an overhead…
I was scammed by booking an overhead cabin bag it says low fare I paid but it came out to be more expensive because they didn't specify online that I was paying the checked in baggage instead. Most of the airlines that I am using they say or specify which particular baggage you paying but in their English website it didn't say there I was shocked that when I received my receipt or notification email from it was a check din baggage which I never needed for a weekend trip not unless I badly need one right? total scam!
Disgusting support for autism / special…
Disgusting support for autism / special needs children! Cancelled our 1.5 hour flight with an hour to go. Tried to rebook for the next day with stop overs increasing the travel time to 7 hours! Obvs no way manageable unprepared and with severe food allergies too!! They told me they couldn’t help us. I am so upset and furious at the lack of empathy for a special needs child who struggles so badly with change. The trauma this has caused to my family and daughter is unbelievable. I’ll never ever fly with them again. If you have children with special needs AVOID at all costs. No consideration for disability whatsoever. Promised a refund by the airport staff. When I rang I was told they couldn’t help me. Shame on you Norwegian!!!
They dont care about their customers
Im travelling with 2 instruments and bought 2 carry on bags and priority boarding. The 2 instruments together take less space then 2 carry on suitcases and fit within the size allowance. They decided to take away our instruments to check in with other non fragile things like trolleys. No priority boarding and very bad service. Avoiding Norwegian air from now on.
Walking on board I see pleanty of space. At the gate the lady also took away our passports for 15 minutes, that was a bad experience.
Disabled beware'...Avoid this airline…
Disabled beware'...Avoid this airline even if you have to pay more with another airline.
We needed only a small amount of help with lifting our hand luggage up into the overhead lockers and down again.
We were met with a loud angry apathetic response showing us up in front of the other passengers, even though we had tried to book online assistance and had asked at the help desk. Goodness knows how very disabled people manage with this airline. Priority booking is also a joke so,avoid them'....
One of the best airlines
Flown with Norwegian a couple of times this year, cant fault them. Flying again with them in the next week, excited!
Lovely attentive staff and great planes. Nothing is too much for the staff and always served with a smile
Had a good experience with them from…
Had a good experience with them from Gatwick to Oslo return. Quite smooth and efficient.
Have a plan B when dealing with Norwegian
Always have a plan B when dealing with this company. They are treating their customers poorly, and completely unhelpful if you need any kind of support. Everyone uses this company simply because of cheap tickets. Nothing else of value!
The worst customer service experience…
The worst customer service experience I've had.
Me: "So please tell me how to solve it urgently?"
Norwegian Airlines: "Sajeer left the chat"
August 2, 2022. They cannot add luggage but a travel agent also cannot add it. No one cannot add, but it's 50% more expensive to add to the airport and hand luggage can not be added at the airport at all.
Losing time & money. Never recommend to anyone this airlines to deal with.
If I could give a minus star I would
If I could give a minus star I would. The CEO of this company is a crook and should be in prison. But, of course, white collar crime is seldom prosecuted. They stole almost $7,000 from me. It took years to save this. They are the most dishonest company I have ever done business with. I hope their company folds.
BEWARE!! REFUSING TO REFUND!
I had 2 bookings for 2 people ref. PKZZ3O and RWSJSY both flights were cancelled during 2020. I have been fighting since to get my money back. It is highly unfair that I do not receive my money back because Norwegian no longer flies to my destination. They now only fly within Europe. I was given points but I am unable to use my points all at once and they have an expiration date. Norwegian no longer goes where I want or need to fly and they refuse to give my money back. It is not right that they should keep hold of my money. I WANT A REFUND.
This company is a joke
This company is a joke. They cancelled our flight which was in the morning at midnight. And offered a flight for the day after. (which ruined all plans and left us sleepless thinking what to do) It was a weekend plan and the changed flight didn't work for all of us, and we already paid the non-refundable hotel and return ticket. They have staff to cancel flights and send notificaitons at night while they won't keep anyone to provide customer support during the night. I can't think of a good airline company which doesn't provide customer service at night, as there may be urgent problems. They also don't provide support on cancellations if the flights are booked through an agency. They tell you the agency should contact them, not the passengers (the agency tells us to reach out to Norwegian airlines since we are checked in). I really don't understand the difference between the passenger or the agency reaching out to them. We have booking reference and all the information related to our flight. Cancelling the flight at last minute and ruining our long weekend plan is their fault but we have to file everything and call different places. Yet our problem is not resolved. Agency tells us to call Norwegian and Norwegian tells us to call the agency.
STAY CLEAR OF THESE COWBOYS
Spoke to a robot... sorry person on the online chat called "Kristina" asked for two simple requests to be actioned and this was not done and kept repeating the T & Cs awful first experience - as per all the other reviews stay clear of this airline- truly terrible.
Really poor service on what they call…
Really poor service on what they call free booking. IT IS NO SUCH THING!!!
As i needed to rebook my flight i found the travel i wanted to change over to and big was my surprise when i found out the it was more expensive to change my flight than to book a new one!! I called in - waited for loong time on the phone and then got no real explanation but was advised to write a complain on the web. You can only do that if you agree that your travel might be cancelled! And here comes the absolutely worst part. They cancel your Ticket BEFORE you get your complain answered and then they cannot do anything as ‘well you have cancelled your fligth’ i complained again on email and was told that all my money was lost - and my latest email they havent even bothered to answer at all. This is absolutely poor customer service which i actually do not think os at all legal!!
Joke of an airline who take your money fraudulently. Then don’t return it
I paid for previous seats to ensure myself and my 13 year old were sat together as apparently when I booked there was only 2 seats left! Come to check in and suprise we don’t have the seats i paid for. Called customer services who couldn’t help and said I needed to put a claim in online. Which I did. I’m now back from the trip and no communication at all. Call and get hung up on! Call and get told different stories from all the call handlers. Last think I have is ‘well the claim is with the right department it’s just in a queue and I can’t tell you where or how long it will take!’ It’s my money you are not refund so I’m putting in a claim through my bank. Disgusting attitude and will never fly with Norwegian again!
Useless (paid) internet onboard Norwegian flights
Since mid-2021, I have repeatedly made Norwegian's customer service aware that their so-called Premium internet access (paid) on board their aircraft is totally useless.
Three times I have paid for the internet and each time it has not been able to be used, which I have made Norwegian aware of. But they obviously do not really have "time to take care of" my inquiry. I got a somewhat condescending response from customer service at one point that they would look into the matter, but that it was not their responsibility because the service is run by an external provider. But Norwegian uses the internet opportunity in their marketing, so I cannot use that explanation for anything.
Oddly enough, the internet always works fine in SAS planes!
I have also contacted the company on Facebook Messenger, but there I get a kind return message that it is not under their responsibility.
Miscommunication and bad service
We used Norwegian to fly from London-Helsinki-London. We bought our tickets through Supersaver. We always travel light so we only had our hand luggage with us.
On our way back when boarding the plane we were told that the ticket type we had, no longer allowed us to bring hand luggage on board. We had to pay 40 € per luggage and they were taken to the cargo.
The plane was not full and there would have been plenty of room for the luggage on the plane.
Norwegian said that we should have checked from their website the new rules for the ticket type we purchased and it is not their fault that Supersaver had not communicated to us about the new rules they had put in place.
I don't understand why would any respectful company put these sort of pricing in place that is purely designed to upset customers and it is against the common sense that when buying a ticket with hand luggage this will include a cabin size suitcase. This is only a way to charge extra through planned miscommunication.
We were not charged or told of this on our flight to Helsinki but only charged on our return flight making the procedure feel inconsistent as well.
Norwegian has our contact details through Supersaver as we got text messages about our flights. If they would have wanted to communicate clearly about the changes in their handluggage policy they could have but they chose not to.
Norwegian is profiling to be the cheapest cheap flight aviation company by going into pricing and tricking their customers this way.
Safe to say choosing Finnair the next time
I bought 2 flights for my parents in…
I bought 2 flights for my parents in Brazil before Covid.
When Covid came, the tickets had to be cancelled and according to the Brazilian laws, Norwegian had 12 months to refund the full amount.
Almost 2 years have passed, and the didn't refund. I opened many claims on their website, and the only thing they say is that it was refunded. They don't offer any proof, and remittance advice, anything, and we never saw this money on our bank account.
When I try to call them, they say the same, again, no proof provided.
I'll never fly with them again, and will not recommend them to anyone.
Worst Company to deal with
Before Covid lockdown (March 2020) I paid outright for two flights to the USA. When Covid and Lockdown hit obviously everything got cancelled, including my flights. Norwegian offered 20% in rewards if took reward points instead of a refund. On the basis that we would still be going to the USA once lockdown finished this seemed like an OK plan so we did it. of course it didn't all get back to normal and also Norwegian got into money problems. I now find that the 'new' version of Norwegian does not fly to the USA and have totally refused to consider refunding my cash. The reward points are not ones that have been gained through spending money with them but rather my money held for future use. You can't get to speak to a human being, they come back with the same line that 'rewards cannot be exchanged for a refund' It takes weeks to get an answer if you email them. I now find that I can only use the reward points if I fly with them to places I don't really want or need to go to and on top of that they tell me that they will expire at the end of this year. One of the worst companies I have ever dealt with. I had a lot of trips hotels etc booked during Covid, as a lot of people did, every single one of them allowed me to cancel or reschedule... except Norwegian! I'm not expecting the 20% just the cash I paid them.
