Atrocious customer service

Your Ref: 12316233
You have left me no choice but to make a small claim.

I have been logging on and emailing for over a month to sort this.
In brief, I cancelled my direct debit but your systems did not update properly so you took yet another payment of £18 from my account....
Subsequently in your complaint response you lied and confirmed this would be refunded.

IT HAS NO BEEN....Refund now or I have no option but to escalate to small claims and I will certainly request more for the inconvenience and down right underhand tactics you employ towards your customers.

This company has to have the worst…

This company has to have the worst 'customer service' ever. Have been overcharged on my Direct Debit for February and March this year - account shows correct amount but actual amount debited is twice as much. Call finally to a human but simply did not understand or can remedy the problem. BEWARE before you even consider signing up.

Just appalling service that gets worse…

Just appalling service that gets worse as a longtime customer. Either blatant lies or stupidity, telling me offers that are live online are not available and about 9 other similar issues. Cheap for a reason and not cheap enough to be worth the hassle anymore.

Dreadful and will never use again

Dreadful and will never use again. I told them of a house move over a month ago and then 2 days before I move they cancel my order. When I finally get through there is no care, ownership or accountability. I now have the prospect of going to a new home with no internet.. thanks for nothing NowTV

NOW TV broadband good but BAD mid-contract prise rises and confusing contracts.

NOWTV.co.uk (see update further below) Have their broadband and phone online service. Straight forward and easy to use and set up. Price stays the same the whole year and then on a rolling contract (same price). Pleased with service. Paperwork kept simple and easy to understand (less technical jargon and hidden costs than I had with BT (BT had well hidden mid-contract price rises -which were underhand). Did take 2 weeks to originally set up. Been using for 7 years now, and review price every year. Arranged for my mum as well and she saved 2/3rds of her previous contract price with BT (which they took advantage of elderly customers).

UPDATE JUNE 2024:
actual broadband service works well, but UNPROFESSIONAL mid contract price rises !!!!
Easy to miss the email ! Confusing re-contracting and discounts. Email contracts lack: full names or account numbers, contract expiry dates, any credits applied, contracts spread over 2 separate emails (slightly different info)..... intentionally confusing and easy to miss important details and automatic price rises ! Not for those people wanting things simple and clear.

You'll never get your number back

So I had 2 contracts with NowTV for broadband, one was ending and the other had a few months to run. As I wasn't using the one that had some time to run any more I asked if they could move the contract over to the one ending, simple billing change right? NO.
They put it through as a home move but didn't tell me that I had a new number, a few months later my mother couldn't get through. I now discovered the problem.
Contacted customer service who said they couldn't renumber my line (the number was still available) and I would have to take a contract with BT and they could do so. They also said they would pay any costs as it had been their mistake that my line had been renumbered.
Moved over to BT who renumbered the line within 24 hours.
Started moving back to NowTV, they only took the broadband back and left the landline with BT, I'm now paying two bills! When they finally took the line back over (a month of calls to get this done) they then started saying they would not pay the now years contract with BT (they had missed the 14 day cooling off period). Emails to the CEO marina.storti at bskyb round black point com
finally got them to start talking again but I had had enough and so left. Sky and NowTV are now stopping you from porting your number away but I was assured my many providers that once I was with them they could ask Openreach to renumber the line.
NowTV have now put a block on my number so that after 5 attempts and even going through the Ombudsman (CISAS) process I still can't get my number back.
This is in direct contravention to Ofcom and OTA2 Best practise guidance.
I have not given up yet and am trying to get my new service provider to raise an industry level complaint.
I would say that the industry is not interested in the consumer and although there are robust rules on how the service providers should behave nobody is enforcing them.
Just coming up to a year since this all started.

Early disconnection before commuted date and time

I have requested to get me connection disconnected by a given date but it’s been disconnected before without my knowledge. Upon connecting customer care they tried to claim that is not in their control but it’s a separate team. It’s really impacted my work and I am extremely disappointed. I know no action will be taken to sort this out.

NowTV player impossible to use

NowTV player impossible to use, other than the general issues with quality (about 10 secs of low quality when you start streaming and if you skip to another point), and the fact that the player doesn't auto play next episode (just stops with a button to return to website), and half the time just stops working and won't play

Avoid NowTV broadband like fire!

I live in a small town in the middle of East Anglia countryside and have limited option when it comes to internet providers. I got NowTV broadband six months ago and it's been a bad experience ever since. I mostly work from home as a single trip to the office in London cost me £60 return and takes over 4h a day (return). The amount of money and time I lost on having to go to the office as I had no internet at home is shocking! I have been almost in constant contact with NowTV with one of the incidents taking 7 weeks to resolve! It required nonstop chasing and almost every other day calls to NowTV customer support. Lots of people working there are not even polite or straight up lie and cheat with people closing my complains without asking me whether I'm ok with it or BEFORE the issue was resolved. After 6 weeks and hundreds of pounds lost by me in travel cost they offered £50 refund which wouldn't even cover the cost of the internet I paid for and didn't get!
It's been now 4 times I reported internet not working in 6 months time (with one of the incidents taking almost two of those months to resolve). When the internet is working it's often 2 mbps download and less than 0.02 upload, despite the guaranteed 25 mbps (download)!
Despite this appalling service I'm still being told I need to pay the fee to finish contract earlier. I now resolved to recording my internet speed daily and calling them multiple times a week until they give up.

I had internet entirely gone when I had to submit my Uni work before deadline, I failed deadlines at work because of sudden drops in internet speed that would last for hours. I had engineers booked to come in, so I would take a day off and wait just for them just not to show up. I have email threads with no reply and calls promised that never happened...

Save your sanity and stay clear from this company.

10 days in to the service and problems.

10 days in to the service and my DSL link is in and out like a fiddlers elbow most of last night, I remember this problem from the SKY days so the DSL in the area must be duff, as we had OR out more than once back then, so I'm trying to cancel via the cooling off period.

As per usual their test service states my link is fine which it is right now, but it's not great when you're trying to watch a streaming service and it drops out for a few mins!

Trying to contact them is a challenge, the number I've dialled several times leads to a message saying they're all on training. (probably 'procrastination for dummys'). All online routes appear cyclic, clearly they run too lean in their call centres to deal with the mammoth issues people are facing with them.

I'm hoping to use the Cooling off period to get rid and try something else as these first impressions are not very good at all and reading through all these TP reviews has me disappointed that Ofcom hasn't stepped in yet.

Formula 1 channel showing football

I paid £11.99 to watch the Formula 1, but instead it was showing football, later they apparently noticed their error and fixed it, but half of the race was already completed by that time. At first I tried to call the service line and was immediately charged £6, even though I hung up after I heard they’d charge me £6. So I paid effectively £17.99 for half a race. Do I get a refund?

WORST COMPANY, STAY CLEAR!!!

THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER HAD THE DISPLEASURE OF DEALING WITH! STAY CLEAR IF YOU CAN, BEYOND INCOMPETENT STAFF! Long story short tried to get Broadband with them, they messed up the address with the first order, so not only did I have to then set up a new account I had to make a new order, which then meant the live date got pushed back and we lost out on the original deal we made with them! When I asked them to contact Sky, my previous provider, to make sure they extend the broadband they told me that was my job (fuming)! After ordering the second time round I then get an email saying the first order wasn’t cancelled so the second order I made got rejected! When I called the third time they told me my live date would now be pushed to 14 days and I had to create another new order! At this point I lost all hope and have asked them to erase any memory of me and my details from their system! When I asked how they would compensate me for the stress and 8 hours wasted on the phone with them, they had nothing to say! I would personally like to name and shame Nathan (if that’s his real name) from Sales and Retention, beyond useless, definitely didn’t retain me! DISGUSTING COMPANY!
