Amazon RMA

Bought a Gigabyte motherboard from amazon in April 2025, it failed in July 2025.
Amazons process apparently is to send it to this third party company to be fixed.
I sent it them on the 2nd August, Amazon confirmed received on the order details a few days later, I didn't have any further updates at all until the 20th just to say it was being delivered back to me the next day.
Upon receiving the motherboard back, the scribbled note inside stated it couldn't be repaired as 'user had damaged cpu socket'.
This is a lie, the motherboard failed after working fine for 3.5 months being in my pc and then failed, the cpu socket had not been touched since the pc was built and worked fine until failure. They obviously can't or do not want to fix it.
If you need to return a product to amazon for repair, check before you commit to it, if this is the company they will use. Avoid! Demand your refund/exchange as per your rights. This is what I have now done and wished I'd done in the first place.

Very poor service

Very poor. I returned a lawn mower for repair. It came back yesterday. The person delivering it dropped it onto my step. The box was undone and he had it upside down. The mower crashed onto step soil and grass everywhere in my hallway. I shouted that it was falling out he just left it. Not bothered at all. Never had anyone so bad delivering items. Shocking attitude

To my amazement the product was returned to me within 10 days repaired and working.
I can only say well done Olympic.

Sent a toothbrush for repair

Sent a toothbrush for repair, sent back the lower spec version and the wrong colour. Contacted them and was told that need to raise a repair with Amazon. I did that first and that’s what they messed up. Absolutely useless

Terrible AVOID

I sent my coffee machine to them for repair as per Amazon's instructions. The machine was returned to me within 24 hours with the fault fixed but they had broken the machine elsewhere and left the parts inside the box, just thrown in. It's obvious that they fixed the fault in a hurry without due care and attention. The machine was filthy and packaged very badly, when I had sent it to them so carefully packaged. I rang them to talk to someone about it and of course they didn't call me back. They just don't care about customer service at all. AVOID them if you can, I had no choice but to use them as Amazon does, no idea why based on the reviews they get here.

Braun Shaver

I sent Olympic my 5 year old Braun series 9 for repair on 12 November and received it back from them on 16 November fully repaired. 3 text messages from them to advise progress. Superb service at a very reasonable price. No hesitation in using them again.

Returned from repair still not working

My Oral B electric toothbrush stopped charging and, as it was still under warranty, I sent it to this company for repair as instructed by Amazon. 3 weeks later it was returned with a replacement toothbrush base which was different to my original one, didn't look new, and was still not charging. Clearly no-one had bothered to find out what the problem was and make sure it was fixed before returning it. Dreadful service and as others have said, why do Amazon continue to use them?

Terrible service

Terrible service. Why do Amazon use these people for repairs, it’s pathetic. You’ve no idea where things stand. Headphones sent for repair 1st of September, arrived next day, but didn’t show status update for a week. Then a week later status shows “refund requested”. So I spoke with Amazon and obtained a refund. 4 weeks later, I get an email saying your item is being returned, 🤬. So now I’m expected to contact Amazon and arrange to have them returned to Amazon, only I check tracking and it seems that they are not coming. I’ve absolutely no idea what’s happening.
What should have been a 2 week repair, has or hasn’t taken 6 weeks and I’m still none the wiser.

I sent my RTX4070 to Olympic Shavers on…

I sent my RTX4070 to Olympic Shavers on a Amazon warranty repair . I put my GPU in the original box and carefully wrapped that in bubble wrap and a waterproof plastic cover . What I got in return was an absolute disgrace , the box had been dropped and torn , they plastered the return labels over the original box . They say it's been repaired but it hasn't, at best they might have run some stress tests on it ! They had it for 2 weeks and gave me no updates . Their customer service is none existent. I will now be sending it direct to Nvidia because Amazon and their repair agents are not fit for purpose .

Abrupt call-handler (but worked out in end)

Braun sent me hyperlink to book a repair under warranty with Olympic. They also gave a phone number to call them. I tried booking online but it would only accept a type code for my razor, rather than the cleaning/charging unit which was faulty. So I rang the number expecting help. A rather abrupt lady answered. She interrupted me twice as I was explaining why I was calling, telling me I had to book online and seemed irritated that I had phoned. I pointed out that her telephone manner was poor and she then listened long enough to understand why I needed help. I decided not to return my unit because they would only send a postage label, no bag, and it was for me to package the product safely to avoid any damage in transit, go to a post office and then wait up to 3 x weeks for it to come back. I can't be without a razor for that long. Didn't get a good vibe from this call-handler and not sure I trust them.
******************
01/11/24 - I'm upgrading my 2* to 4* because I found recently that the cleaning unit was no longer circulating liquid. I did return the razor and unit using the same ticket from before. I received a replacement cleaner unit. It took 2 weeks to get my razor back but at least I now have a functioning set again.

I sent my £300 Philips PerfectCare Elite Steam Generator Iron for repair. This is the second one I have had to send back. It arrived today with exactly the same issue! Absolute rubbish. This is why the UK has a failing economy. Shoddy workmanship!

Do your best to avoid them!

Nintendo Switch bought from Amazon and stopped working six months later. Amazon arranged for postage to the repair centre and advised would receive communication. Surprise suprise received nothing and had to chase Amazon to find out what was going on. After weeks of no communication it came back and hadn’t been repaired. What a waste of time. Amazon now processing refund. Avoid them at all cost!

Excellent service

In the interest of balance, I just want to say I received an excellent service from Olympic this last week. I booked my Braun shaver in for repair under warranty using their website (braunservice.co.uk). I sent it from Ireland on December 28th. I received an email when it was received (Jan 3rd), repaired (Jan 4th) and dispatched (Jan 5th). I received it yesterday (Jan 10th) and it's back to perfect working order.

Fobbed off

My partner has been waiting a month for a refund after they were unable to repair a Perfectdraft machine that was still under warranty. Despite being told numerous times that a cheque was going out, finally with a confirmed date of 11th OCT, then the 20th - he has still received nothing. After asking for a BACS payment last Wednesday- and four phone calls today, they promised they would do it by close of business. He’s still waiting and my ears are nearly falling off with all the moaning. Please - sort this out!
