Process has been very well handled until final stages. Our conveyancer has been brilliant throughout but unfortunately has been off this week during our final stages and our case has been passed along to another case handler. Responses are very vague regarding what the delays are, and we are getting very conflicting information from different people each time we contact them. It’s so disappointing that it has come to this after what has been a relatively smooth process. When you’re paying nearly £2,000 for a service, I expect more information than “there’s a lot of things going on in the background” and being told they’ll request our deposit “within 2 business days” conveniently before the weekend (despite all enquiries being satisfied and searches returned) at such a time-sensitive point of the process when you’re trying to arrange time off work, removals, etc. No explanation of why the two business days, or what the ‘background processes are’, or what we are actually waiting for, or when we can expect to exchange and complete. It just makes me feel like we are being completely fobbed off until our solicitor gets back. It’s a shame her great work has been let down by whoever’s handling her cases this week. I would appreciate a call ASAP from someone who can assist as we are desperately trying to progress our chain-free purchase.
