Malfunctioning Lomi 1
After multiple email attempts to resolve malfunctioning issues with my Lomi 1, including a replacement unit that stopped working after 2 uses, I would advise anyone not to buy a Lomi product. Issues involved non-functioning fans, grinder/motor failure and unable to start unit.
Pela and Fire…
I accidently dropped my phone into the wood stove and immediately rescued it. The pela case singed but the phone was unharmed! An excellent product,

Sadly echoing all the other negative reviews..
Sadly echoing all the other negative experiences here.
My Lomi worked well (albeit noisy!) for the first 3 x months, and then ceased to make any "dirt" at all. My food was just a bit dry, but still fully formed after multiple cycles.
I reached out to customer service in November 2022 and it took until February 2023 for them to actually do anything. They sent me a new bin, claiming this was the problem. I've tried it, nothing changed, it's still broken.
Since then, I've been reaching out to them over email and phone calls (where all they do is say they'll talk to their manager) but still no response, and the Lomi is still a waste of space (and money!).
To anyone reading this who doesn't have outdoor/garden access but wants to do their part to compost, try Mill (full unlimited warranty). I've told Lomi if I don't hear back from them soon with a solution, this is what I'll be doing.
It's a shame as the premise of this company is so great, but sadly it's not real. Save your money.
My Lomi stop working after 3 months
My Lomi stop working after 3 months, I contacted their customer service, what a joke. After reading the other reviews I now understand I’m not the only person robbed. I’m currently traveling in Asia, when I get back to North America I’m going to take the strongest action against this company.
This is by far the worst company I have bought from
This is by far the worst company I have bought anything from. All the reviews are right.
I was very disappointed by the level of communication and tranparency of the whole process. The customer service agents have repeateadly given me very vague answers regarding my delivery date (soon, shortly etc), although the payment had been already made. Moreover, they had generated a shipping label which was not working, claiming the package had been sent when the courier (RoaylMail) said they hadn't received it. While I understand there were issues with the shipping, the lack of transparency and communication is disappointing.
After I have received the order,I decided to return it because it is too big, uses too much energy and is too noisy to be used up to 8 hours a day in a living space. When I contacted customer support for a return, I was first incorrectly sent to the US site then I had to ping the ticket twice to get another link that is again not working (this while being constantly reminded how there is a 30 day return window).
This is by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced, especially for a premium product worth 600 dollars.
Purchased in the UK - PLEASE DONT!!!!!
Purchased in the UK. Please please dont these reviews are all terrible for a reason.
Tried to cancel the order over a month before received with no response.
As soon as arrived tried to return, sent a portal that does not work and cant return
I am 10 messages down and no response .......
I am writing to consumer watchdogs etc as this is not right!
science gone out the window, and your money with it
bruh, it just heats up your trash, consumes a lot of power and it's freacking expensive for being a heater. could do the same with 20 bucks.
Untrustworthy and unresponsive
My community is mandating composting soon and I saw the ad about Pela's Lomi - small and could sit on a kitchen counter and produce fertilizer for my garden. What was not to like? The ad said they are all sold out but $49 would hold your place (early May) until more units could be produced - likely July. My credit card was charged the remaining $488.68 two weeks later. The Lomi arrived May 31, 2022 and as of today, June 9th I have yet to successfully reach them - sent multiple emails without a response (other than acknowledgement of the email and they would be getting back to me). AND the return policy for a full refund is 14 days!! My Lomi has never been opened as the size is much larger than advertised and it will not work in my space. I leave for vacation Tuesday, June 14th meaning if I cannot return the Lomi over the next few days I will be out $537.68. Buyer be warned. I really wanted them to be a good company but...
Disappointing
Backed them on Indiegogo, used Lomi for 1 month and after 2 weeks it started to smell really bad while in use. Customer service said to change the carbon filters more often but they advertise that the carbon filters should last 3 months! I tried everything and the smell still persisted, no matter how clean Lomi was or what food items were in it. Since customer service was no use, I gave up and we don’t use Lomi anymore. What a waste.
These people are crooks
These people are crooks. They make it look like the thing costs $50. Then a few days later, they charge your card another $500 and claim the $50 is a non-refundable deposit! Report them to your credit card company, your state attorney general consumer affairs office, the Federal Trade Commission, YouTube (if YouTube cares), and sites like this. Shut these people down! If we don’t fight them, they will just keep robbing people!
Eat your deposit when they failed to keep their promise
I had purchased the Lomi directly through their website (deposit paid in Oct) when they promised a ship out date in December. Then they advised me they won't be shipping out till January and when January came around, they said March. When I tried to cancel my order, they ate the deposit.
