Great experience
So after seeing so many negative reviews of this company I was truly dreading what the outcome was going to be of the claim for our cat Eddie, I need not have worried! Sadly we lost Eddie to urinary tract problems 5 weeks ago, it was totally unexpected and it absolutely devastated us more than we could ever have imagined! We submitted our claim and within a few days it was acknowledged by email very sympathetically. Within less than two weeks we had been sent a cheque for £700 to cover the costs that we were able to claim. Our claims manager Zoe dealt with this so professionally, I can't thank you enough for making this claim so much less stressful, and painful than we had anticipated at what was a very difficult time for us !! Highly recommend this company x
We love Pets WOW

Avoid Avoid Avoid
Well, looking through everyone's opinion on this despicable company I really haven't much more to add. yes rip off, yes deceitful, yes to animal cruelty. I never claimed on my insurance for dog until November 2018 aprrox 4 years of premium, she ripped her cruciate ligament and needed and operation. we had to borrow the money as it was the best part of 5k. my access had gone up by £25 to £175 when she turned 8, no big deal there but I hadn't know they also added 20% access to the policy at the age of 8, it was mentioned when they were speeding through the t&cs on the phone when we were making a claim, ( I requested the recording) it turned out also to be in mega small print at the bottom of a page nowhere near the access figures, deceitful. I now have around £1300 still to pay back on the money I borrowed and cant afford her after care, animal cruelty. Total scum and are a rip off. thankfully my wife loves the dog more than me and sold my bike to pay for her recovery. Paul W
All they do is take my money and…
All they do is take my money and provide crap services that do not match up
Crooks.
I've had pet insurance with them for 12 years now. Never jumped ship every year to get a better deal, stuck with them thinking loyalty would pay off.
Never claimed once until this year even though the premium has been rocketing up since he was 8,even though he was healthy.
This year I claimed £326.92 for a heart problem. Just got next years premium through and they've near doubled it. From £477.47 to £859.31.
Bearing in mind I have to pay the first £200 then 20% of the bill its ludicrous. His medication is only £30 per month, I still have 2 months left so that works out that it would be November before I could claim anything, that would be £10 and they'd pay me £8 of that. Also on his last visit to the vet, I asked the vet for the prescription so I could buy his meds online, lowering it from £76pm to £30pm. The prescription cist me £15,but More Than refused to pay this, even though it was hugely beneficial to them. Happy for me to pay it and them reap the benefits.
Truth is, they love your pets while they're young and healthy, but as soon as they're old or sick they don't want to know.
They've had thousands out of me in premiums and I've got £326 back, now they've made it unaffordable.
Avoid like the plague.
Excellent
I have used pet-insurance.co.uk for 15 years. Last year my dog was ill twice with 3 different problems and subsequently went over the Rainbow Bridge. I cannot recommend this company enough. I would have been really in financial trouble without them. Yes there is an excess but they paid out 4000 pounds each month and direct to the vets so I wasn't out of pocket apart from the excess. And each time you claim for the same problem there is no additional charge until the policy renews annually.
Don't care. Don't be loyal.
They whacked the premium up from £146 to £408 just because my mixed breed reached the age of 8. She's due to live to about 16.
There was no justification, no explanation. They just booked that is leave it to auto renew. They couldn't even match their own new business price to renew, nor did they care about keeping me as a customer.
Really really shoddy, don't give a toss. I'd never use them again.
No Customers loyalty
With them for 3 years never claimed every year had to contact them as was overcharged each year . Then when my dog turned 10 they double the premium due to age. The dog is fit and healthy absolutely no loyalty to customers thank goodness I hadn’t paid since he was a puppy .
Appalling company
Appalling company - my terrier had to stay at the vets for a few days and sadly, having been on an intravenous drip and having a few ultra-sound scans eventually his Kidney packed in and we had to have him put to sleep. To rub salt in our wounds, this insurance company had put our excess up from £75 to £190!, it also decided to find other deductions to a point where they coughed up about quarter of the overall bill. You'll find yourself paying thousands into this company over the years but God-forbid you should have to make a claim - they'll pay out a pittance. DON'T USE THEM!!!!!
Charges need capping.
I do not rate this company, 8 years of no claims and yet my policy went from £7 a month up to £35.00 a month (an £10.00 increase from last year) over that time period for a small and very healthy little dog. I understand he is getting old now, but I think the policy should be capped on a no claim policy. I did email twice for a call back which never happened. Finally after being on hold for 20 minutes someone picked up. Nice chap, very polite and he did refund my currently month as I wanted the policy terminated immediately, I wasn't going to let them get to next month and 'Opps forget and take another £35.00'. I did have to insist he take the Direct Debit off the account of which I will check with my bank that it has been done. I did ask if there was anyway of a partial refund for all the money I put in, especially now have given up my job to care for my mother full time, there wasn't, not surprised at that.
Never ever use this company!
Never ever use this company. Impossible to contact, extremely slow to pay out, additional charges every claim and an annual additional charge for lifetime cover!! Appalling company. Unfortunately with a diabetic dog I am stuck with them ... but I will never use them again.
Appalled
Had to claim for my dog. Paid excess and 20% of vet bill. I have just received my renewal which has increased by 100%. When I called they said their was nothing they could do to reduce this. APPALLING!!!
CLAIM TURNED DOWN FOLLOWING OPERATION !
Seems I am not the only one who is disgruntled! My dog is 10 - never made a claim in 4 years - claim turned down for an operation of a cyst which burst - because the vet saw the cyst two years ago and said it was fine !!! Do they seriously expect us to insist that our pets go under the knife in order that we can make a claim two years after the vet said the dog was fine. Totally appalled what are we paying insurance for I ask. STAY WELL AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY you may as well put the monthly payment in your pocket and save up for your pets treatment.
Very poor service
Took out a policy online (or so I thought) with this company. The pages were loading very slowly through the process and after entering my payment details the screen froze and said the website was not responding so I was unsure if my payment was successful. The next day I checked my bank and the payment was successful and had gone through to the insurance company so I assumed my policy was active and would wait for my policy documents through the post. Five days later I check my bank and my money had been refunded that day by the company. I contact them and they say they can give me no details at all why my money was refunded. They said it must have been a problem with payment which I stated obviously not as the payment was successful. They state that even though they took my money the policy was never activated. Which means my dog went a whole week without being insured when I was under the impression the policy was active due to the fact they had accepted my money. So essentially , they took my money , didn’t activate the policy then refunded my money five days later..... WITHOUT TELLING ME ANYTHING.
Very difficult to contact
Very difficult to contact, contact details are not easily available on the website and the hold times to speak to their contact centre are unreasonably long.
Definitely Recommend
My wife and I chose life time cover from pet-insurance.co.uk for our Cairn Terrier back in 2011 when he was around 3 months old. Up until recently we had never claimed, but unfortunately during the summer he developed a very rare and serious condition.
As a result, we accumulated some very expensive vets fees which were claimed for using 3 separate claim forms. I'm pleased to say that they processed the claims very efficiently and agreed settlement amounts within 2 weeks of receiving each form. The amounts were then paid directly into our vet's bank account and our own account a few days later.
During the claim period they sent us a few e-mails asking for additional information and we found the e-mails to be worded with a personal touch and sympathetic to our situation.
We would definitely recommend them and if we decide to get another pet then we would have no hesitation in taking out a policy with them. I would also recommend taking out the life time cover - the premiums were very competitive compared to their competitors and it gives you peace of mind that there will be no quibbles about previous conditions.
We would like to take the opportunity to thank pet-insurance.co.uk for dealing with our claim efficiently and as a result, reducing the anxieties experienced during a very stressful period.
Excellent service
Easy to deal with, paid out our claim in 2 weeks, very happy customer 👍🏼 Mrs H Blades
Rubbish paid for five years no claims
Rubbish paid for five years no claims, then my dog got an ear infection, they wouldn't pay out ! as when we first got her she had an ear infection when she was 8 weeks old, we never claimed for it as it was simply cleared up with drops. Then 5 years later they wouldn't pay out for the new ear infection as we never told them about the first one. Which was picked up by the vet on her first visit to get her injections, it's a common puppy ailment that just need drops !!!!! Never even accord to us to tell them, what a rip off , will get out of paying out anyway they can, plus the access charge is just getting rediculas .......?.
