Fantastic professional service from Alan, he kept us well informed throughout the process of the building survey.
He provided fantastic advice and resources along side his report and gave us a call before sending it to discuss its content and reassure/advise us about any problems he found.

Alan was extremely thorough in his inspection and his report reflected this. The report was well written, detailed and in a manner which was easily understandable. Alan was very personable in his approach whilst also being extremely professional. Alan went above and beyond my expectations in his investigations but also in his recommendations.

We were passed the contact details for Alan by the surveyor for a property that we are purchasing. Damp had featured heavily in the original survey and we were keen to investigate further as we are relocating and buying the house from some distance away.
Alan made it really simple, accessed the property with keys from the agent and did the required checks. He was able to locate the issues, recommend remedial works and provide a full report and an estimated budget for renegotiation with the vendor.

A quality & very reliable service. The survey report was excellent as it gave detailed information on all aspect of the property including images to show any issues as well describing the faults. I can't recommend Alan McKeown at Plumbstonesurveyors highly enough. He gave outstanding service at a very fair price. He thoroughly researched the property, prior to conducting an in-depth survey of the house. He also further investigated the history and provenance of the house and it's various renovations.
The report he produced was entirely bespoke and very comprehensive. It was supported by photographs, documents and plans, all of which were easy to understand. The report was praised and corroborated by both my builder and structural engineer. Alan is very easy to talk to and a thoroughly nice guy!

Couldn't recommend Plumb Stone enough! Very helpful from the first phone call and the survey was very detailed with images of findings in the roof. Plumb Stone were still more than happy to help me with enquiries I had months later once I had purchased the house.

Alan was at all times professional, polite and helpful. His report (a homebuyer's survey) was thorough and easy to understand, he also went through the survey with me, explaining anything I asked. His survey, whilst not a full structural survey, more than met the brief of a homebuyer's survey and gave me the reassurance I needed to go ahead with my house purchase.

Excellent service received from Alan, Plumb Stone Surveyors.
Having received a 'free' report from another company stating they required £5,000 to resolve rising damp issues throughout the house, I decided to pay for a report from Alan. The report was very thorough and the results and proposed work rather different. Although the required work hasn't been priced up yet, I reckon even after paying the survey fee, I'll have saved a few thousand compared to the first option.
The report also showed me other areas where improvements could be made to benefit the house.
Damp is a complex beast that can easily be misdiagnosed - Alan clearly has a great understanding of the subject and worth every penny.

I used Plumb Stone because I didn't want a 'sales pitch'. Alan was very helpful from the first point of contact. Thorough during the survey and honest advice on how to solve the damp problem we have. I'm sure Alan's advice has saved me thousands by properly diagnosing the cause. Efficient as i received the report less than 24 hours after the survey.
