This was the best family weekend we have been on, a real adventure for the children but with a pace that made it relaxing for the adults as well. Graham was a knowledgeable and enthusiastic teacher and we can't wait to try out our new skills. We will definitely being be doing more courses with Polaris. The setting was beautiful and easy to reach as well.

We attended the Polaris bushcraft family weekend in July 2021. I found this weekend incredible. Graham is extremely knowledgeable. The children loved the weekend, especially the shelter and fire building sessons. My children didn’t ask for the ipad once during the whole weekend!! They were kept busy or entertained themselves and so were never bored. There was a nice balance of learning, working and relaxing.
It was so relaxing to get away from the noise of daily life. I would certainly return and I 100% recommend.

Excellent weekend! Graham was extremely knowledgeable and always happy to guide us less experienced campers. The kids, aged 6 and 7 had a great time building a shelter, building and starting fires, and learning about the forest. Not once did the kids claim to be bored or ask for any electronic / WiFi-enabled devices at any point over the weekend.
The other campers were friendly and it was great to share their previous camping experiences. The kids also got on very well and entertained themselves with their new company and surroundings.
I would highly recommend this course and have done so already.

Great day - green wood carving, I produced something I'm proud of from a nice piece of birch, and met some friendly people on the day. Graham's a very knowledgeable and engaging host and put everyone at ease early on, sharing info and stories throughout the day. Would definitely do another course with Polaris.

What a beautiful spot, felt like I could have stayed a week! This course is very conveniently located, a short train ride from London. Base camp is well set up, and loved the fact that you get to explore the surrounding woods with Graham. The highlights of the course for me were making a star fire, using birch bark as a tinder and cooking salmon on a bed of embers. The course covers a lot of content, and whilst Graham is a fountain of knowledge, he also tailors learning to your needs. Hope to return for another visit in the future.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Mastering Fire workshop. A welcome escape to a different world for a day. Graham is very encouraging and full of interesting facts about survival and our natural surroundings. I got to take my bow drill home and Graham sent us photos of the day.

I had a brilliant time on the Axe Skills Day and Graham is a great tutor. Very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about his craft. I would highly recommend this to all. We split logs, learnt how to cross cut trunks and to also chop down a small birch and limb it properly and finished of with some carving.

This course is AMAZING!!! For my first time doing a real bushcraft course, it's the best course to start with.
The instructor is very knowledgeable, relatable, great at teaching you in the way you learn well, he makes the course interesting, funny and memorable. You get to understand the outdoors and learn to be kind to nature while it also looks after you. I would absolutely recommend this course to anybody who is interested or even just wants a fun weekend while learning something.
Attended weekend survival camp, 5* rating, I’ve been working from books for some years now. The course was very helpful, fire lighting, first time I’ve done that thing where you have a ball of grass and hot embers and blow as it burst into flame, BOX ticked for me. Also the foraging and camp cooking were most enjoyable. And GRAHAM was helpful and approachable at all times which made the weekend very informative and enjoyable.
Excellent day out with the team from Polaris. Graham and his group were fantastic with our group of 8-11 year olds and kept them engaged for the whole day!
Great experience for me and my son. Graham is a wealth of knowledge. He’s personable and also has authority that makes you feel safe.
