I tried three other apps before I found Practice Portuguese. This app far out ranks the others. What I like:
Easy pace
Lots of self paced reviews
Small conversation scenes
You can go back and redo a unit
A variety of motivating activities

I have tried many Portuguese language apps and find this one to be the best. They have focused on European Portuguese as opposed to Brazilian. The lesson format is easy and fun I look forward each day to my practice session each day. A bit expensive but worth the money.

I am beyond delighted having spent months using a combination of DuoBingo (!) and its pot luck systems together with Google Translate to finally transfer to PP. I feel as though I am learning- and it is uniquely Euro-Portuguese based.
The content is extensive for each level and the topic based learning is enjoyable. Grammar, tenses, conjugations are all reinforced through natural, topic-based exercises. My main challenge is to change pronunciation from Brazilian Pt to Euro. The listening and repeat-back exercises are superb for this. Duo only does Brazilian Portuguese.
The other facet that makes PP a boon is that it all exercises relate to actual Portugal contexts, and culture. I am certain that this system will massively help to prepare me for any one to one tutor sessions as I will have a strong grasp of the essentials and a solid foundation to progress to C1/C2 CEFR levels.

I have tried several different apps and found them very disappointing even when they say you can learn quite well. With most of them I am unable to remember most of what they teach.
This program is so user friendly and comprehensive that I can remember a great deal more. Being able to add phrases and words to the smart review makes revision easier. Most of all I am happy to use the app on a daily basis and excited and motivated with the satisfaction on mastering a new word or phrase. Thank you Joel and Rui

PP makes learning fun and is practical to use. I have in-laws in Portugal and thus I have great motivation to learn. Using different Portuguese speakers saying the words/phrases, attractive pictures to help remember, and the smart review flashcards are the big pluses for me.

The best app for learning European Portuguese by far.

Following spoken Portuguese remains a challenge for me – even after 10 months of online courses.
PracticePortuguese offers varied and structured exercises and helps me greatly on my way to better listening, understanding, reading and writing this beautiful but demanding language.
Even at my very advanced age, I'm enjoying my tiny successes every day. :-) chris

One of the best apps out there for learning European Portuguese.

As an intermediate (A2) learner I find the app invaluable in supporting my 'live' classes, where it helps me fill in the gaps around the more complex points related to grammatical structure and conjugations, while also training my ear with listening exercises.

Overall, very good - definitely recommend.

A great interactive app on most levels. Offers a great variety of lessons and exercises in the form of reviewing progress, short clips or "shorties" podcasts, videos and balanced notifications of unique uses of European Portuguese, not offered by many other apps. Advice and encouragement to go the distance is ongoing.

Been using Practice Portuguese for a while and it is an excellent platform to learn on. One stop shopping with reading, writing and flashcard practice but also has audio and video files to help you learn by listening too!

I have studied Spanish, French, German, Italian and now Portuguese, and for this I have used Duolingo, Pimsleur, Rocket Languages, and Michel Thomas among other lesser schools and apps. None of them come close to the level of intelligence and understanding that Practice Portuguese brings to teaching a language online. The only way to do it better would be to be in Portugal, learning from a native speaker and professional teacher in Portugal. And, considering the limited availability of any resources for learning European Portuguese, we are very lucky to have such an excellent tool with which to learn this language. There is really nothing else you need to take you to C1 level.

The application and the site are great, easy to use, and the most important: focuses on European Portuguese.

I really enjoy the approach to learning they've taken. High quality... And fun!

A really comprehensive app! Very good explanations and exercises about... Everything basically.

What I am really missing though, as a person that's not really a beginner anymore: a test to see your skill level, that shows you what topics you mastered and what you need to practice more. It would then also be cool to have the option for a 'quick review' exercise on the topics that you know a bit, but not well enough. Now I'm just reviewing things I think I don't remember anymore. But there is no structural way to do this in the app.

However, so far I'm very happy about it.

Wonderful place to learn European Portuguese. Rui and Joel are so professional and make learning fun. Portuguese is difficult to pronounce but with their help it becomes a lot easier. The whole programme is very well structured. I would definitely recommend using it.

I like this app very much. I passed Duolingo's English course, so I have an example to compare. Practiceportuguese is better. Materials present in interesting format. Exercises are informative. We have more additional information. A lot of different topics. All of these makes my learning effectively and faster.

The playback on pronunciation exercises is difficult to use
