Having previously held a contract with Premier many moons ago I was already aware of their 'cowboy' approach, and unfortunately I've had another reminder of this. I held a contract with Viaplay and had assumed with them no longer trading, there would be no auto-renewal of this contract. Instead, Premier Sports have auto-renewed and charged me for a 12 month contract despite me never agreeing to a contract with them. They have refused to refund this and I'm in no doubt they have made a small fortune from doing this with other customers who never entered into an agreement with them.
Warning: Dreadful company to deal with
I was dismayed to learn that my Viaplay subscription was moving to Premier Sports as I'd dealt with them previously and they are awful. And sure enough, they have just proven that to be the case again. As my annual subscription was due to end on 28 April I wanted to make sure that they would not charge me the extortionate £14.99 monthly fee from 29 April. (They had sent out no renewal notice so I had no real idea what my options were. Of course they subsequently claimed they had sent a notice and that I should "check my spam/junk folder", i.e. the victim blaming/customer shaming trick.) However, when I logged into my account on 28 April I could not cancel or do anything else with my subscription, there was no functionality at all. And as 28 April was a Sunday I could not call them or send an email which would be read that day - customer "support" people don't work on Sundays. Sure enough, first thing on Monday they had debited my credit card with £14.99. A long exchange of emails has ensued and Premier Sports point blank refuse to refund the money they took because I had not cancelled - I hadn't cancelled because they would not let me. I posted all of this information on their Facebook page, twice - and they have now deleted my posts which shows what sort of company they are. It's sad to see another Irish company taking the Ryanair approach to customer service. And of course they also show themselves to be poor business people: I would have taken out a new subscription for the a year for £99 but instead they can now keep my £14.99. Big win for them......
Poor Policies and Customer Service
Tried cancelling my Viaplay subscription. Waited 15 mins on the chat and gave up. Waited 45 mins the second time and gave up. Selected downgrade my subscription as I couldn't find a cancel option and it said I had 40 days until downgrade. 40 days later I've been charged £79.99 by Premier Sports. Got in touch with customer services who initially offered me a £20 refund. Then refused my refund "Live Chat option is not one of our contact method, this is only for the Streaming Account support.
Downgrading your subscription to a different package is not the cancellation process I'm afraid"
I only have one package that includes streaming and sky!
I then highlighted their right to withdraw within 14 days policy and they said it doesn't apply to renewals although it dosent say this in the policy!
I've made recorded efforts to cancel my subscription and they can't even refund me the day that the renewal came out my account having not used the service

Premier Sports....same old, same old
Moved back from Viaplay and Premier Sports remain the worst provider I've ever had the privilege of paying for. Can't watch on a Smart TV. Tried watching on my PC but the game can't be loaded because the format isn't supported/network error. What on earth are this lot doing getting the rights to show sport AND being able to charge for it. Abysmal
Shockingly bad
It is absolutely appalling that the rights to broadcast six nations and rugby union matches have been sold to such a poor operator. Shockingly poor customer service a very poor app including multiple drop outs when streaming a match. Shocking bad customer service. I love rugby and subscribed because this was the only way to watch where I am but it is more than i can bear. I am now trying to cancel my subscription but of course this scam company does’t let you do that. There is no way to cancel on the app. Unbelievable - what a fraud!!
Simply the worst
We had the misfortune of using Sports248, also under the guise of Premier Sports Direct to buy several hockey related items as Christmas gifts for our daughter. Despite ordering on 12th December and what we thought was plenty of time for Christmas delivery, with delivery timescales quotes on the website as “ The majority of the orders are despatched within 24 hours and in-case we don’t have stock at hand then we will inform you the timescales involved”, on 19th December we received an email saying some items were not in stock despite showing as available when we ordered and paid for the items. Clearly this firm does not hold stock, therefore cannot commit to the delivery timescales or communications indicated on its website.
As a resolution, we agreed to accept an alternative hockey stick. So all sorted…or so we thought.
Whilst the replacement hockey stick was received in time for Christmas, when removing the ‘protective’ plastic wrap from the stick handle on Christmas morning this also peeled the grip away at the top and bottom, clearly as a result of the plastic wrap being heated too much when wrapped at the manufacturers.
With our faith in the firm partially restored, we contacted them on 27th December and provided pictures of the faulty handle. Our faith proved to be misplaced as the firm stated this was not a manufacturing fault so would only be prepared to provide a replacement grip. Whilst I’m more than capable of re-wrapping a hockey stick, this clearly was not the outcome we were looking for or expected. Clearly our expectations of a replacement stick were unreasonable.
The final option was for us to return the stick to the firm and to wait whilst the manufacturer was consulted about the fault.
So, although our contract for this transaction was with Sports248 and not the manufacturer, we now have to wait for Sports248 to receive the stick from us, return the stick to the manufacturer (who they have the contract with) and then decide what course of action will be taken to resolve. Meanwhile, a 10 year old is without her gift and unable to play hockey and Sports248 has exceeded expectations by providing a terrible customer experience.
Caveat emptor…

I cannot believe the gall of these people. A second £14.99 has been taken from my account, and guess what, I aint getting it back. It's my fault of course for not navigating my way through the school project designed website and finding the bit about the rolling contract. I was actually preparing for the hours spent trying to get the 120 minute cast to actually work. £30 for 120 mins. Premier Sports is crap.

I am happy to report progress. An intelligent employee in Customer Services Department has dealt with my order swiftly and efficiently. A second e-voucher was sent and this time arrived at the designated address . After 30 days of emailing the department it was a relief to deal with someone effective.
I am no longer disappointed.
