Recognise Bank was founded in 2017 by experienced business owners who recognised the disconnect between traditional business banking and the needs of modern SMEs. We were frustrated with the lack of understanding, certainty and flexibility offered within the industry. In short, we believed that we could build a better bank. And so, we did. We received our banking licence in 2021 and quickly grew our community of loyal business and personal customers, with the help of our dedicated, diverse, and expert team. Recognising our customers is at the heart of what we do. Today, our hard work and customer centricity is demonstrated by our excellent rating on Trustpilot. We offer a range award-winning, secure FSCS protected savings accounts with competitive interest rates for individuals and businesses alike. Recognise Bank is authorised by the Prudential Regulatory Authority (PRA) and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and the Prudential Regulatory Authority (PRA). Our eligible saving products are protected by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) up to £85,000 for individuals and businesses and £170,000 for joint accounts. We also offer a range of specialist lending products, and we aim to be as flexible as possible with all of our offerings and services, no matter what your business needs. It’s why our customers, brokers and partners love working with us.

Dislike: Unclear instruction regarding registering for online banking. When applying for the account I do not recall any mention of needing a postal reference in order to use online banking. I managed to do all the transactions I needed without receiving the number. Upon receipt of the number I followed the instruction, but have not accessed my account on line since. I have put a false date as date of experience as I do not recall the exact date I applied for the account, without logging on. Survey is poor as it has in sufficient options for replies, e.g. date of experience.

The acknowledgment of a deposit which came through really quickly and the fact that the funds are added to my account similarly quickly. Good service!

Took a chance to open a one year bond as interest rate was very good. Initial setup was okay and was able to transfer in twice and access my account online. Real problem has been the very inefficient authentication system - having received an email to authenticate my funding account and not having received any code in the mail. The fact is that the bank already received two payments from my funding account to set up the bond- but now I'm repeatedly asked to authenticate my funding account? This morning (24/6) I received a further email asking me to authenticate my funding account- I called customer services to explain what was going on and that no code had been received by mail. Six hours later I received the code from Recognise Bank in the mail- dated 10/6. Of course this number is no longer valid as I requested another this morning after receiving the email. Seems a most inefficient and time consuming system compared to other bond providers I have. Impressed with interest rates- other aspects less so!

Fixed Term Deposit opening account process easy online, then additional identification and verification was required. But I had to provide them by post which delayed the account opening process. Customer service was excellent, staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I'm assuming that their interest rate was great and therefore they were inundated with applications and it took quite a while to work through the process. But account opened and I'm satisfied as they communicated with me at each stage of the onboarding process.
