Do not use under any circumstances. Changed my vehicle 3 months into the policy. Was told that they will not update my details, I need to take a new policy, they will not refund me for the 9 months unused and I need to pay them £9.99 for the privilege. Never have I had such a dodgy insurance policy, awful company ethics.
Awful company, avoid!
Awful company; avoid!
They auto renewed my breakdown cover and when I called to explain I had not received an email reminder, the operator insisted that an email had been sent and that it must have gone into my junk folder. I explained that I check my junk folder daily and that I did not receive an email. They renewed the cover against a vehicle for which I am no longer the registered keeper. I was rudely told that I would need to prove this. I’m not sure whether the operator thought I was making it up, but I wasn’t and able to send them DVLA slip which confirms that I am no longer the registered keeping of the vehicle. In hindsight I realised that the operator did not have the right to request/challenge me on this, as it is a legal requirement to offer a 14 day cooling off period regardless of whether I was/wasn’t the registered keeper of the vehicle.
Appalling company - avoid at all costs
This company is not just unethical they are outright appalling and abusive. They will automatically renew your policy and there's no place on the website to cancel this. Last year I had bought a cheaper policy with them through a comparison site and they wanted to force me to keep the auto-renewal from them, which was more expensive.
But the icing on the cake was what happened this year. I received an email (which goes to junk email) about the renewal of the policy and immediately clicked the cancel link. I then emailed costumer support to DOUBLE check that the policy had been cancelled, was assured this was the case. Well, would you believe it? They still went ahead and charged me for the renewal of a policy they had confirmed before had been cancelled. Simply appalling. I dread to know how they would respond to someone who was actually stranded in the middle of nowhere needing help. Their costumer support is appalling and you can't convince me that what happened this year was not on purpose (how handy is it to just take money out of costumer's accounts even after they cancelled?).
How are companies like this allowed to trade?
They have now told me they issued a refund but for all I know they haven't - I'm complaining to the Financial Ombudsman Service and would urge others to do so.
NHS Worker given no support
I am a member, partner is a named driver on my car and an NHS worker, Dynamo would not support an NHS worker with a breakdown. Thanks for all the claps though.
Would give 0 stars if possible
Would give 0 stars if possible. Interaction with them has been absolutely shocking.
Beware, they automatically renew and charge you an extra £9.99 for cancellation. Think you're saving with them, works out much more expensive!!!
Appalling....
Appalling..... Automatically renewed my breakdown cover without advising me beforehand at all...no email nothing! Then charged me £9.90 to cancel the policy within the 14 day notice period.
Just plain sharp practice....don't go near them!
£25 has to be paid for every call out
Flat battery- £25has to be paid before they will come out. Stuck so paid it. Checked policy when home and no where does it state to pay for a call out. Excess on a claim yes but they will charge for every call out even a basic jump start even when policy states unlimited call outs. Not stated in paperwork anywhere.

Took out this car recovery for my son and added the extra to get his excess insurance back if he had an accident. Unfortunately he had an accident and unable to contact this company at all. DO NOT USE.

n all my 79 years of dealing with…
In all my 79 years of dealing with insurance companies, this company wins first prize for ripping me off.On 1 October 2020 I took out breakdown cover with this company.Great price I thought basic cover just what I need.
On 22 October I changed my car.Not wanting to be without cover I immediately emailed Recovercover to change my car details. Not interested was the reply, policy now void as per their terms .New policy required.
Fair enough I should have spent 6 hours reading all there get outs.
I replied to them requesting they close my account. It will cost £9,99 as per their terms and conditions.Just to close the account.
A little gem I picked up whilst scanning there onerous terms. You are required to keep the vehicles V5 in the car at all times. They also auto renew.
After all this upset I found the RAC offering basic assistance via Quidco at only £23.
There is no fool like an old fool people. This company makes it super easy at a very low price to grab your cash.
It doesnt bear thinking about what kind of service you get if you break down.
Caveat emptor.
Do not reccomend to anyone unless you want to get ripped off
Very disgusted poor customer service dont answer the when you get thru and purposley get cut off, customer agents on the claims department very rude, put a claim in they made me run around even thou i provided photos video of half working phone and video cancelled my policy after 11 months for customer servicing being so poor not chasing up.i had to pay for quote and checkmend report dint even bother to look at phone if i had to do this why the hell do u falsesly insure people when you dont want to repair. Disgustrd by my overall whole experience i do not reccomend to anyone as this company is not fit to run .there so good put complaint in and they advertise 24hr response its been 3 days still no acknowledgement or response
These are an absolute joke of a…
These are an absolute joke of a…
These are the same company as Dynamo Cover and are an absolute joke of a service , they are a con artist do not go with them they do not send you a reminder & automatically take money from your account then want to charge you £9.99 to get out of it despite being told previously that we did not want it renewed
Scammers
Like everyone else this company is a scam no email reminder sent about renewal and then take the premium automatically despite me telling them last year I had sold the car. They then want to charge you £10 for cancellation.
I will be lodging a complaint and also going to the ombudsman.
As other people have written on here
As other people have written on here, beware of auto-renew. I asked them via email AND phone to cancel my policay when it came to the end several weeks before the expiry date, and as I didn't reply to their email, which went to my SPAM inbox, they took no notice of this. Disgusting customer service. When I called to complain she suggested she was doing me a favour by charging me £10 cancellation rather than the whole fee - for a car I no longer have!! They're out to get your money!
Dynamo - Beware of Auto Renewal
Dynamo emailed me 3 months before my cover needed renewal. I emailed back saying I didn't like being pestered this early and that I would look into a new contract via Compare the Market. I then started a new contract with another firm. Dynamo renewed my contract automatically without my consent. When I complained they refunded my policy but charged £9.99 admin. Very annoyed will never go back to them and will advise anyone to give them a wide berth.
A shocking company
A shocking company. Terrible customer service and a dishonest business practice.
They are SCAMMERS
They are SCAMMERS. They claim that a renewal notice email (giving you an opportunity to cancel) is sent before the automatic renewal but it is NOT sent. This is a contractual obligation (stated in their sales contract) but they do not send it. They then charge essentially the whole premium as a cancellation fee.
Also, they don't let you cancel the auto renewal in advance, so you have to wait a whole year to do so.
Secondly, if you cancel within the cooling off period, they refund only about £2.
Do not use!!!
I wish I had read these reviews before I took out my policy with Dynamo!!
My car broke down last week and I needed recovering to a garage as the clutch cable had snapped, I called Dynamo and the man said that because the garage I wanted to go to was over 20 miles from where I was it would cost me extra! I had to pay £30 (which was more than I paid for the policy itself!) just to be towed to the garage. The man also said that I could call back to upgrade my policy so I wouldn't have to pay again. Called the customer service number today, was on hold for 20 minutes and then went to voicemail. So i emailed instead and the only good point i can mention is that someone called me back within an hour of my email. I asked where it says about only being recovered within 20 miles and it is on page 5 of and 11 page document with 4 other documents that you get sent after you've bought your policy!! I also asked about upgrading my policy so that i wouldn't have to pay again, he said that because i was outside of the 14 day cooling of period i had to buy another policy which was £62.50!!!
Not at all happy and will definitely be going with a different provider!!
Jokers. Do not use at any cost!
Had an email saying they would auto renew my policy. Now I need to use them they are saying they never auto renewed my policy and will not accept any liability. Jokers and conmen! Avoid at all costs, especially if you don't want to end up stranded.
