FIT RENTALCAR
One of the worst experiences I’ve had with a car rental company.
I booked a car in advance through FIT Car Rental and received a full confirmation. My travel plans were built around this booking.
To my surprise, only one day before the pickup, while I was already abroad on my trip, I received a short email informing me that the reservation was canceled. No replacement car, no alternative solution, and no real attempt to help. I was simply left to deal with the situation on my own at the last minute.
This caused unnecessary stress during my trip, wasted valuable time, and forced me to look for another car at a much higher price.
Even the refund process was not handled properly, and I had to open a dispute through PayPal just to get attention to the issue.
A company that cancels a confirmed reservation one day before pickup and leaves a customer stranded abroad without a solution is simply unprofessional and unreliable. I strongly recommend thinking twice before booking with them.
After reading other reviews here on Google, it seems I am not the only one who experienced similar problems with this company. I wish I had seen those reviews before booking.
I would appreciate an official response from FIT Car Rental explaining how a company confirms a reservation and then cancels it one day before pickup, leaving a customer abroad without a solution.

DON’T DO IT.

Rentalcars by booking.com sell their service as “no extra fees”, which was completely the opposite we were experince when we rent a car in Napoli form Thursday 7th - Fridag 8th June 2024.

We rent a car by Italycars, and when we arrived early in the morning Thursday to pick up our car as our appointment were, we definitely felt like they sc*m us.

On booking.com we chose to rent with FULL INSURANCE, which we paid extra for - that to be sure if anything happened, it wouldn’t cost us extra - we might not need it, but i would be a great security.

When we arrived, the lady showed us something about full insurance and without. It would cost 33 euros EACH day for the insurance. I told her we booked with and already paid for it, but she said it didn’t count. Like what the heck? We were pretty unsatisfied and told her, but ended up paying it anyway. Just for her to want a depositr on 500 EUROS AFTER?! Luckily out credit card fail a not because we couln’t effort it, because we could. But that much?! Our rent for the to days weren’t even 100 euros!
As we told her we would cancel the car, because all of this isn’t okay, she looked pretty shocked saying “there’s always a deposit”. We said we know, but it’s not right that it’s 4 times af much than our rent is - and that we have to pay insurance TWICE!

We got back out 66 euros. But we do expect rentalcars to give our rent back, because the do sell it as “no extra fee” - which isn’t true! Otherwise we will take et higher, so give us our money back!

We ordered through rentalcar for…

We ordered through rentalcar for goldcar.
Handed in our voucher at the counter and goldcar got my card.
When I got home there was much more swelling.
Contacted goldcar who said they had received nothing from rentalcar.
We contacted rentalcar who said they could not see anything. After several emails, we got some of it back.
Unbelievable, they are some bandits, so book directly for rental, not through rentalcars.

do not rent cars through Rentalcar.com good

I booked a car online with rentalcar.com for a trip in Mexico. When I arrive to pick up the car from EUROPCAR, they requested a US$13,500 security deposit plus an extra US$291 for extra insurance which I had already paid for through rentalcar.com
Those terms were only mentioned in the contract after I made the payment and does not offer a partial refund...

The purchase page was in SAR

The purchase page was in SAR, the credit card payment was in EURO, and bank fees were paid twice (on both the credit card and the rental company). Really a scam.

Betrayal company.

Betrayal company.
They keep the money for no service at all.
There was a proven online mistake.
Rental car kept my money of approx. 300 pounds. I did not use a car

FRAUD - DO NOT USE

FRAUD - DO NOT USE.

We tried to book a car but payment was rejected.
We received anyway a confirmation for a booking and called right away to notify this was no longer needed. No car was provided for pick up and we still had Money taken from our account. Costumer service answer is that refund cannot be made as they send a booking confirmation even with all the evidence we have shared!

I book a car but the company goldcar…

I book a car but the company goldcar rentacar just... didn't won't to give the car to us. Wee unbook and book a shelf via autoreisen. Rentacar didn't help with anything... but still took a cancel free of 35 euro... the price wood be okay if wee cancel because we won't et to cancel but we where forced to it by goldcar...

My flight is delayed out of Copenhagen…

My flight is delayed out of Copenhagen by almost 4 hours
Before the booking starts - around 1:30 pm), I wrote through rentalcars.com app (as is the Stated procedure) to the rental company Noleggiare to say that My flight was delayed (it clearly states that all communication before the rental period should go through them)
When I arrived at the airport, Noleggiare tell me that my booking is no longer valid, so I have to book directly with them. New Price is 859 EUR, almost 50% more than my original booking
Their repræsentative also say that the amount I already paid is not their problem - I need to get it back from rentalcars.com. To date, 5 weeks later, rentalcars.com tell me that they are sorry, but this is their stated business practice. DO NEVER EVER UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCE USE RENTALCARS.COM!!!!!!!!!

Rental car pain.

I rented and paid for a car. I go to pick it up and they won't rent to me because I don't have a plane ticket. I call rentalcar.com to see about a refund. They won't help me until the return date. I don't have a car to return so I no longer have a return date. So now I have rentalcar.com charge and a charge from the rental car place that let me rent from them. If I pay for a service and the service is not provided I should be able to ask for a refund now not 6 days from now.

Dont even want to give Renatlcars.com one single star, this outfit is a complete joke !!
5 weeks i have been waiting for them to refund a car that was never picked up, despite over 20 emails back and forth and its just a call centre in the Philipines that cant help you at all.

I have now started talking to the claims dept which is worse than the call centre ~ they dont even acknowledge any emails !!
NEVER USE THIS TERRIBLE OUTFIT OF A COMPANY !!!

Really bad experience

Really bad experience! Never use or recommend this company to anyone else!They charged me the car hire fee when I booked the car and made the first payment online, but when I returned the car to the hiring car company, the hiring car company charged me for the car hire fee again and told me rental car.com shouldn't charge us for that! Therefore,I paid the car hire fee twice and there is no
one answering my phone to deal with the isssue for us. This company is a theft that always charge something unnecessarily!

I booked a car in Albania and they refused to give me the car without 800£ cash guarantee so if I don't have the car I asked refund from 8/12/2020 they still ignore my emails calls, they are not a company they are a SCAM BE CAREFUL DO NOT PEY THEM YOU GONNA LOSE MONEY LIKE ME

What a rip off, and pathetic customer phone service!

I would not recommend this company to any one! I rang their customer service numerous times, and when I did finally get through, I was hung up on twice as the person on the other end must of been learning English and were just plain rude. Then finally I got someone who, I feel for him was only trying to do his job, was no help at all.
Thrifty offers money back without a fee. Not these thieves, unable to travel due to this Covid 19, these thieves still profit by charging you for a non service.
Use another service, as these thieves do not deserve your money!!

They are thieves.

I prepaid for a rental. When I arrived at the company to pick up the car, they wouldn't rent to me because I only had a debit card. They wanted a credit card. I was told by them how to submit for a refund. When I contacted RentalCar.com they refused to refund my money. There exact quote was You violated your contract by not not having a credit card, therefore you are not entitled to a refund.I spoke to two different supervisors and both said the same. Therefore they have no problem keeping my money for a car I didn't rent just because I didn't see the rule on having a credit card and not a debit card. Their Supervisors are rude and sarcastic. Never rent from this company.
