Report My Loss is used by thousands of people each month to securely and conveniently submit details of lost items, from phones and laptops to jewellery and bikes. It can surprise people that Report My Loss is not publicly funded and why there is a fee for the service. Lost property reporting is not a statutory duty of policing, so many constabularies no longer undertake it. When you create a new loss report, it is placed on a secure database (the police NMPR system). The lost item can then be searched by police and lost property offices nationally, increasing the chances of recovered items being identified and returned to you. In the event of needing to make an insurance claim, Report My Loss certificates can normally be used in place of police loss report references (which many forces have phased out). Report My Loss should only be used for accidental losses. If a theft has taken place, this should instead be reported to the police force for the area in which the crime took place. They will be able to provide you with a crime reference number.

A load ofc rap

A load ofc rap. Only reason I shelled out for what should be a free, public service run by theu seless police was to make an insurance claim. Only use if you have to, otherwise assume your items gone forever, as the police and Lost Property offices in the UK are totally useless.

I reported mine and got no updates or feedback on my post! I found it difficult to log in. The police did not contact me. A total waste of time for a poor service and very disappointing. A total cop out from how the police used to help!

Absolutely gutted with this company…

Absolutely gutted with this company level of customer service!!!
Had another order which was booked for the delivery today I had to take a day off to be around for delivery.
Had a phone call from driver saying he will attend the delivery between 1 to 3 pm.
Now it is 8.40 PM and no one attended my delivery driver phone is switched off!!!
Was on the line with customer service for arranging redelivery of my order which again another driver didn't bring and after 10 days still are being told IT systems are down!!!!
I wouldn't recommend ordering furniture from this company, such a waste of time!!!

I reported my lost phone

I reported my lost phone. I even provided all details and paid up to £5 for submitting reports. But I haven't received any response from them not even a shout or anything. I'm really embarrassed with this system.

Terrible the fact you have to pay to…

Terrible the fact you have to pay to report your own lost items (IMAGINE AN OAP WITH NO MONEY OR WAY OF PAYING OVER THE POHONE OR ONLINE)
Then there's the fact that you BASICALLY pay for nothing you don't even get an update stating whether or not anything has been found.

No feedback at all

No feedback at all. It seems this is just a data base and nobody would check whether or not the property was found.

Shocking

Shocking. Useless. No point in handing in anything to the police anymore. Waste of time.

Awful scamming company

Report My Loss is a company recommended by Pier Insurance. All managed/owned by the same directors. The customer service is non existent and the time it takes to get any response is ludicrous

Terrible the system just doesn’t work.

Terrible there doesn’t seem to be a facility for when somebody finds your item and needs to find out who the owner is. I lost my keys they were returned to me by a lady who phoned the police first and was told to go to your website. She did this and couldn’t get anywhere with it. Eventually she managed to get the keys back to me through a friend and a note I left at the court building near where I lost my keys. I feel I have totally wasted my money and won’t be using your service again

Waste of £4.95

I thought that I would get help trying to locate my phone. You only put it on a list and hope the police will try and match it up. If the police won’t even give you a lost property ref. I can hardly see them searching a list to see if they can match it up with its owner.

Could be marginally better

The bloke helping me was very friendly and polite. The call did go on for quite a while and I think that was more the procedure we had to follow and computer speed rather than anything avoidable. The only thing I wasn’t keen on was that the person on the phone was a bit negative about the people in the store. It didn’t come across well and, to me, wasn’t fair. But it is only a minor criticism given the overall service received.
