Excellent service and outcomes

I have instructed Retraining Pain on a few occasions recently due to their passion, knowledge and client centred approach. Dr Romy Sherlock and Andrew Laird build great rapport with clients and have delivered excellent treatment outcomes against realistic and measurable treatment targets. I am very impressed with their service. Paul Turner, Director FT Chronic Pain Solicitors.

Retraining Pain feedback

As a case manager I really value working with a provider who can offer quick responses to any enquiries or questions, in particular the opportunity for a brief call to discuss a more complex enquiry. In the several clients whom I have referred to Retraining Pain I have consistently received high quality assessments and interventions at a competitive price with detailed, clinically reasoned and robust assessment and treatment reports provided.
All of my clients have provided glowing feedback to me with the interactions they have received from the Retraining Pain team and we have seen some excellent outcomes for clients who may have previously been struggling with managing various aspects of their persistent pain condition.
An absolute pleasure to work with and I remain confident to recommend your services to my clients and those of my colleagues alike.

Extremely good holistic pain management…

Extremely good holistic pain management approach. Care tailored to individual needs and responsive to changes. Having both psychology and physio with professionals that understand pain helped me to explore and better understand my pain to allow me to make improvements in my overall life. Dr Romy and physio Andy really go above and beyond to help their clients make improvements in their pain management. Both very knowledgeable and experienced in their respective practices.

Helped get my life back. Thanks

After an accident I was referred to Romy and Andy. I was very sceptical (how wrong I was) anything would work but after 4 years of sleepless nights and constant pain anything was worth a go and would have been happy with any improvement in my life.

I basically spent my days at home, in pain and afraid of going out.

It all started just getting to know Romy and explaining my back ground and where I was at the present time. The speed of everything was just right for me. After a few sessions we started EMDR, as I said earlier I was sceptical but how it’s changed my life. Going from waking up to 5 times a night to having full nights sleep was unbelievable. I think we had about 6 sessions of EMDR and would recommend. It’s amazing how your mind works and brings things up.

After these sessions we started working on me getting back out in the big world. Starting small like picking the kids up from school to going out for a meal. Everything was a my speed but the little tasks helped keep me moving forward.

Romy taught me loads of little things to help through the day from breathing exercises to just simply thinking about my self.

Coming to the end of the sessions we worked and recapped over everything so I had everything available if needed. Which I did! Somebody crashed into me and it sent be backwards. However using the tools I leant I’m now back on track and looking forward to the future.

Andy the Pain Physio is also great. Not your standard physio. He worked with what I was comfortable with. When he first came I was going up and down the stairs with my stick and very slowly. Now I’m up and down almost the same as before my accident.

He works with the pain and retains your mind that it’s ok to have pain. It helps dampen down the pain.

I would recommend to anyone with pain. I have my life back and it’s down to Romy and Andy working with me.

Im now going out for walks and enjoying life and looking at getting back into work this next year

Life changing pain support

I was referred to Dr Romy Sherlock as I suffer with chronic knee pain following an accident. Although I was initially apprehensive, Romy was very understanding and reassuring and in our first session we created a pain management plan.

I have been having EMDR sessions and seeing Romy for almost a year now and I can happily say that I have a toolbox full of coping techniques to help me manage my pain. During our sessions Romy has listened to my concerns, introduced coping methods and provided me with a variety of resources and knowledge. My pain journey has fluctuated greatly but Romy has supported me every step of the way and as a result I am now in a position where the pain no longer controls my life.

I have also attended several sessions with Andy who has helped me regain my confidence and build the strength in my knee. Andy is very knowledgeable and has helped me to understand my pain. His approach is refreshing and I have really enjoyed our sessions!

Pain management programme

I came into the programme unsure of what to expect. Dr Sherlock immediately put me at ease and after the 1st session had figured me and my needs out! Although my pain will never go away I have learnt how to manage my condition better, I have lots of tools and information to look back on. I cannot thank her enough for her time, information and patience with me.

Worked with Andy on physio for complex regional pain syndrome in my right knee, I also suffer with fibromyalgia.

Andy is a great physiotherapist, his knowledge of pain conditions means that he has great understanding of people's struggles with high levels of physical pain.

I was very happy with my progress working with Andy online over 3-4 months, and feel confident I can continue the progress I made with him in the future.

Would definitely recommend Andy for anyone who needs physio but has ongoing chronic pain conditions like myself.

You can go at whatever pace you feel comfortable with, which is very reassuring.
