I was quoted a price for a week to Saariselka, when I rang to book, it had gone up quite a lot, I got £100 knocked off but it was still way over what I was quoted and as your trips are a lot of money i felt quite annoyed

We visited Lapland Pajala Sweden on 12/12/2024 and I can honestly say it was an absolute shambles.
I am actually confused how there are any good reviews about this place. It was basically a house which has rented out its back garden with a few old sheds and even older reindeer.
The actual reindeer ride was small circle which lasted 4/5 minutes max. They were tied together with old rope not very festive at all for the £3k price tag for a family of 4.
We then went onto our visit to Santa through “Santa’s magical arch” which was a few bits of MDF nailed together some very old tinsel and a poster of Santa. We got about 4 minutes with the big guy and a tiny cheap teddy and were then back on our way again to the “school style” canteen.
There was also an opportunity to ride a snow ski- again it was a small loop lasted 3 minutes.
The places was about as festive as a pumpkin.
The husky ride was the best part but again was a small loop and lasted no longer than 5 minutes- all in all we spent most of the day sat in a shed.
The positives would be that it was very clean and so were all the snow suits etc.
Do not waste your money or your time.

We have just returned from Luosto in Finnish Lapland, a holiday with Canterbury Travel but we actually booked through Santa Claus Trips who were helpful when originally booking some 15 months before the holiday.
It was a Magical Interlude package where we "searched for Santa".
I won't go into much detail except to say we, 3 adults and a 7 year old had a marvelous time.
We stayed in the main hotel and unexpectedly were given a split level duplex family room, which the little one thought was great. Yes the hotel rooms are a bit dated etc but we found no problems with the room, food and the staff were friendly.
We had no problem getting a sledge stored outside the main reception.
Maisy looked after us for the 3 days on and off the coach very well. Canterbury Travel, their staff and helpers seemed to have everything well planned and were very professional.
A word of warning though, we have been back for a few days now and still can't get the Elf Song" out of our heads, hahahaha, not sure what i am talking about look it up on you tube.
I could go into a lot more detail, but I wouldn't want to spoil anything, read the itinerary on the website, the rest should be part of the magical surprise.
Yes drinks are expensive at the hotel and restaurants, but no different to the whole of Scandinavia.
If you are thinking of travelling to this part of the world I would have no hesitation in recommending this company.

After a lot of searching, I decided on using Santa Claus trips for our trip to Pajala, Swedish Lapland as this is the last year my children will believe I reckon. Bought all the thermal gear required, had it on at the airport, and then proceeded to melt on the plane along with everyone around us!
First tip for anyone else dress normally for flight as the transfer is less than 100yards the other end and plenty of room/time to change there.
The staff from Newmarket holidays were superb along with the flight crew from Enter airways, couldn’t fault them. On landing you’re taken through passport control quickly as it’s a tiny airport with friendly staff. Coach transfer is 7 minutes and then straight in to get your snowsuits and boots. I was worried about this as I’m not small but they have hundreds of suits and boots for every size and I was nowhere near the max, I had a 56 suit with a coat , hoody, t-shirt, and thermals on underneath, which gradually got removed during the day as it was only minus 3, which the suit was enough for, with just my thermals. You’re then divided into 4 groups for the activities and given a schedule.
Second tip is to do the activities and then let the kids play in the snow, there is plenty of time.
Our first activity was the Reindeer sleigh ride which was nice and slow and gave you plenty of time to film in the forest.
Third tip DO NOT THROW SNOWBALLS OR RUN AROUND AT THE REINDEER STATION, THE BLOKE WILL UNDERSTANDABLY GET THE HUMP!
After the first activity you have lunch, soup, pasta and meatballs, or hotdog. I can’t comment on the soup but the other 2 were pretty disgusting and my kids refused to eat it.
Fourth tip is to bring a decent packed lunch, mine saved the day.
After lunch we met Santa in a lovely little cottage in the forest and then had a skidoo towing a trailer trip back to the main area.
Next was the huskie sled ride which my kids absolutely loved as it was quite fast, and then we did the snowmobile, which I drove, with my 2 on the back, which was amazing.
In between these activities, whilst we were waiting, my 2 were off sledging down the hill, throwing snowballs, making snow angels, and generally being kids in snow. I visited the tiny little warming cabins which had real log fires and offered hot berry juice drinks and gingerbread, which the kids loved.
After doing all of this we went back inside for hot chocolate and fresh cinnamon buns, which were excellent.
Now was time to return and everything was super smooth and efficient, even down to a bag containing a roll, muffin, chocolate bar, and a bottle of water at the airport.
Flight home was interesting landing at Gatwick in the tail end of the storm but yet again flight crew were brilliant.
Overall, a fantastic once in a lifetime experience that if you can scrape the funds together, I would heartily recommend you do. Its all about the memories and we will have them with us forever.
Well done to all the staff involved from Newmarket, to the flight crew, to the onsite elves and Santa etc in Lapland 10/10.

Amanda was absolutely fantastic. This is the first time we've booked a Lapland trip but her advise was SO helpful. Having been to Lapland herself several times, she was able to speak from experience and advised on some of the finer details that you can't find online. We were speaking to a number of other holiday/trip providers many of whom were very 'pushy.' Amanda was pleasant and a absolute professional, I would highly recommend her!!

I was nervous at first booking with a company I’d never used before, however, Mona was so kind and helpful throughout the whole booking process. She sent me many different accommodations and add ons and found a holiday that departed from my nearest airport, rather than the ones on the website. She was really helpful and helped me understand everything and went through each detail with me. Absolutely brilliant, I’m really excited for my trip.
