Southern Cross let us down so badly.
I understand war is not covered under their policy, but what load of rubbish. We were stranded in London after our flights via Dubai were obviously cancelled, other flights were massively overpriced, and when I contacted Southern Cross they said there was nothing they could do to help support us.
I hope they enjoyed our donation, because they left us high and dry when we needed them most - I will never use them again, and will recommend to everyone I know to avoid them, 1Cover is the way to go.

We had our insurance cancelled prior to our trip.
We were told the money would be refunded in 5-7 days.
4 phone calls later, excuses ranged from:
Can't be credited to credit card as over $500
Bank Statement required
Bank statement cant be from secondary person on account even though that is the person on the Credit Card.
Copy of bank statement cant be sent from secondary person, with primary cc'd in WTH!
Copy of the bank statement wasn't received from primary even though Southern Cross sent a received receipt for the email
Confirmed refund will now be a further 5-7 days
If not received we have choice but to contact the Insurance Ombudsman.
I have no confidence left in the company.
Where in their terms and conditions is any of the information they provided written.
Very disappointing, what is it was actually claiming!

I guess the reason for insurance is in case of need. I’m pleased I didn’t need it but the process of getting the insurance was very easy and the cost was very reasonable in fact I was surprised, so in all I would go with this insurance again after using lots of different companies

I always feel better with travel insurance. We did not need to claim this time, but we did have to claim many years ago. Southern Cross Travel made everything easy. Their staff were amazing and they made a very stressful time much less so. They took all the hassel on their shoulders and made life so much easier.

First of all, the policy document does not provide sufficient information, such as whether excess will be applied even to a simple claim like medical. Secondly, there isn’t a number you can contact on a weekend to find out more, especially when you urgently needed to contact someone. Thirdly, after making a claim and not being informed to submit the exchange rate document, to then be told you are refunded $200.94 - $200 for excess, getting a refund of $0.94 is a total insult.

Fortunately I did not need the insurance. But it made me feel safe knowing I had it.
The contact from SC was good before I left, letting me know they knew about me!
That cost was very acceptable.

We fortunately did not need to use it - but that's insurance :)

Insurance cover would have been good BUT when I called to speak to someone about making a claim the representative was very unhelpful and really put me off. I then went online and found the whole process too hard to make the claim…. Thus I will not bother to pay for this insurance again☹️

While I didn't need to claim on my travels, I found getting the cover straight forward and simple, the price was competitive and inclusions were fair. Highly recommend traveling with travel insurance, I spent some time comparing others, and these guys came out ontop.

When my daughter and I got snowed-in in New York and our flight was delayed, I had no need to worry because I knew SCTI would look after us, and they did. Simple application process. Fair premiums and excess. Very helpful 24/7 emergency service. Simple claims process. Quick claims settlement. Very satisfied.
