Think twice

I placed an order 15701 on 4 April 2024 for a HP splitter. I have been chasing the order for over two months. At first I was given some assurances despite delays and setbacks but now they have stopped replying. I do not have my order or my money.

I keep receiving e mails from them

I keep receiving e mails from them, the last was today. A few days ago it was "Congratulations you have won a five hundred pound voucher for SDS, We just ask you make a payment of fifty pounds to help with costs.

Ceased Trading

Ordered and paid for a dive computer and was advised it would need to be ordered in.
Rang two weeks later and was advised it would be in stock the following week and I would get a mail.
Left it two weeks, rang the shop continually - no pickup.
Drove to the shop to find it was closed with a notice advising the business had ceased trading.

Now have to go through all the paperwork to get a refund by chargeback. Thankfully I paid by credit card so can get the money back.

Purchased over the phone for equipment.

Purchased over the phone for service marker buoy and reel . Paid for. After 2 weeks of waiting I phone the shop and it was explained that it hadn’t come in .mike the customer service guy sold his smb and sent it to me , as he’d would take my kit once delivered to the shop.
That’s what I call customer service.

Absolutely rubbish

Absolutely rubbish, dont buy from them is my recommendation. 4 weeks after I placed an order and 4 weeks after they took payment they still havent supplied and are still unable to say when goods will arrive.
it says on their website that if something is out of stock you will get an email or phone call with the estimated date of arrival. I didnt recieve anything.

Very helpful and knowledgeable staff who were very accommodating for a short arm and leg person lol ,used twice now and will definitely use again and recommend 👍 😀

Mike fantastic knowledge and helpful per

I recently spoke to mike who is a diver and i explained that i wanted a cold water regulator and octopus set up. after some reading i rand mike back who guided me through the pro and cons of choosing a correct regulator/ octopus set up. I`m very great-full of mikes patient approach and knowledge. very happy with my purchase. I`m visiting the shop in due course looking for Scubapro Exodry suit.

Been sending email's and making phone calls, still no response from SDS :) Emails keep getting returned They were once a good company however now they utterly useless.

Absolute joke. Shocking customer service

Absolute joke.
No idea of what good customer service is.
Ignored emails and when spoke to them on the phone, a flippant and unapologetic attitude that there is nothing they can do.
Still....they were efficient at taking my money and hiding behind a sofa.

Update, following SDS reply: I ordered the product on 19/03.
I sent an email on 31/03.
I sent another email on 5/04.
I phoned today.
I didn't get a response to either email. You seem convinced that this is my problem. Funny how lots of the reviews are similar to mine. No contact with the customer after you've got their money.
SDS used to be a great company. It's a shame that your reputation is being killed by your inability to maintain an email system.
You obviously knew that you didn't have the product in stock, and in fact, you boast about your inability to maintain stock levels on your website. You could have phoned me to say there was a delay.
Or you could push all responsibility onto the customer and blame them for your poor processes.

However, you sent an email yesterday to us, and we hadn't had chance to respond. Also, we sent an email after you placed your order letting you know that we needed to order the items in for you, sadly we cannot control if the emails that we sent to you bounced back.

You were also told that the suppliers didn't have the stock themselves, unfortunately again there is nothing we can do in this situation as it is sadly out of our hands, and we apologised to you over the phone on behalf of them and the delays caused.

Been waiting over 3 months :(

I ordered a rash suit on 13th of December. At the end of December, I decided to send them an email to follow up on my order as I had not heard anything since receiving the confirmation email. I got no reply to my emails so emailed again in January. This email was answered and I was told I would receive an update on my order later that day. We are now at the end of March and I still have not received my order, neither have I been given an update. Two e-mails were sent again this week but no answer!

I heard really good things about SDS before placing my order but honestly feel scammed now.. If they are unable to get my order from their suppliers then just refund me! :(

Poor Customer Service

Not told they had no stock in of an item. Not given an estimated delivery of item. Only found out they didn’t have any stock after contacting them for a delivery date. Was told several times over a 4 week period that my item would be delivered the following week, only to call at week 4 for an update to be told ‘the supplier is out of stock’. Due to this I asked for a refund and this is also proving to be an arduous process. Poor customer service and no apology when asked why I was told to expect delivery every week for 4 weeks when they didn’t even have any stock.

The banner across the top of our page, that has been since the lockdown, mentions that it does not show live stock and if something is needed urgently to drop us a quick email or give a call.

Regarding delivery dates, we pass on the information that we are given from the suppliers at the time of contacting them.

You were told, 2 days after the order, in response to your email requesting an update, that we didn't have the stock and you chose to keep the order ongoing.

Shocking company…ordered some forth…

Shocking company…ordered some forth element gear for a dive trip, fly out in 5 days, ordered stuff nearly a month ago.

Sent a mail after 2 weeks to be told they were expecting stock that eeek, have heard nothing since despite 3 emails being sent.

Have also sent 2 mails requesting a refund….total silence…..avoid like the plague

Regulator Service

Dropped my regs in for a service on 8th October 2022 - was told that it could be up to 3 weeks which I said was fine as next dive holiday was 12th November.....3 weeks went by and heard nothing so phoned SDS to be told parts had not arrived but would be there Tuesday 1st November and assured that regs would be ready end of week....end of week came heard nothing so phoned again to be told same story.....parts will be arriving Tuesday 8th November and we'll prioritise your regs ready for your holiday....heard nothing so phoned yet again on the Tuesday to be told parts still not arrived????? They basically had no idea when i would get my regs back could be next week could be next year so decided at this point to collect my regs and resigned myself to the fact that i'd have to rent some (this was never offered as an alternative from SDS BTW).... to the guys at SDS......I understand there may be a problem with parts but please be honest guys and give customers a chance to get there stuff serviced elsewhere......i'm very fortunate that my friend has a contact and has managed to get my regs sorted for me this week - your customer service needs a lot of work!

Unfortunately, our suppliers have been having shortages with certain parts of kits, as well as stock items, which meant things have been delayed, which is why we mentioned, at the time of booking in, the servicing could take up to 3 weeks.

The dates after the initial quote of 3 weeks were passed on from what we were told ourselves from the suppliers.

When you called on Friday, you were told the parts were going to be with us that day, or Tuesday. And that you would be called when they arrived, Your regulators had been put to the front of the queue as a top priority due to you going away. As we do all servicing in house, and do not send anything away.

The parts arrived Tuesday afternoon, as mentioned on the previous weeks call, that it would be either Friday or Tuesday. And promised a call by myself when they had come in.
You had already collected your regs and other serviced items that morning, so could not complete a service on your regs with the kits that had arrived.

Any time-frames we gave were the time-frames we were given by the suppliers.

We do also have kit for hire, that we can hire out without problem when asked,

Paid £115 for diving fins online on…

Paid £115 for diving fins online on 10th September, no sign of order, no answer to phone calls (3 of them during the week), emailed on 2nd October over 3 weeks after order placed and no reply. Not possible to speak to anyone and cannot get a refund. Please help!

SDS say it's been delivered to my neighbour. The courier picture is not my neighbours doorway.I am SDS's customer hopefully SDS can resolve this with the carrier who is PDP overnight. Update 22/9/23 SDS are in negotiations with their carrier PDP overnight. As per reply below. Fingers crossed.

We have sent you several emails over the past week as we have tried to resolve this for you. I have also sent your partner emails in case you didn't get our responses yourself.

I chased again yesterday, as we were closed Sunday/Monday/Tuesday so were not able. and also again this morning,

When I get an answer/update to what I have already told you, I shall forward you both the responses in case you don't receive my emails....

As explained via emails, The problem we are currently having is because the delivery was made over a month ago.

- an email sent to you and your partner previously.
I have just got off a phone call from our depot again, the lady I spoke to seemed quite helpful this time! And they have said the following...
- She tried to call the driver herself - no answer
- She then called your local depot, who have informed her they are trying to contact the driver.
- I passed on the information on regarding the address you found
- she rang your local depot again who said they are opening an investigation and currently contacting the driver regarding the information myself and you have found, and that she is going to email the address to them

We say it was delivered as this is what the courier have told us.

They took £300 from me

They took £300 from me : still no order and no response to emails
A month ago i made an order with SDS water sports. The amount was immediately debited from my account but i did not recieve an order confirmation. I have now sent 3 emails that have received no response and of course, i have never received the items. Now i would just like a refund as they owe me over £300. Do not use this site, such a poor level of customer service is inexcusable these days.
