Advertising in stock items when you know you don't have them.
I ordered a pair of Scuba Dive boots which the website advertised as in stock, I knew these boots are hard to come by in my size so ordered and paid for them immediately. Payment was taken straight away, however, 5 days later I have received an email saying that the boots are not in stock and they would order from abroad which may take 5 to 10 days if available.
It is a disgraceful practice of companies advertising items in my size and "In Stock" when they know that the items will have to be ordered from abroad - I can do that, straight from the manufacturer.
Illegal practice ???

There are mixed reviews on this company especially with regards to it allowing you to place an order despite stock not being available. However, I cannot fault SDS on this occasion. I placed an order on 4 Jan 22 for a dive computer, they reopened on the 5th whereupon i phoned and they confirmed that my order had been received and would be despatched on that day (this is their first day back after the holiday). I received a well packaged dive computer on the 7th (Friday) although I did not pay for express delivery!! For me, the dive computer was at a good price and despatched ahead of time. If in doubt by any reviews/stock levels- just phone them up and remember Brexit / COVID are playing havoc with the supply chain which is beyond their control. Like many businesses right now, they are just trying to survive, so my recommendation is to give them a go!

Ordered a mask on a Friday morning and paid a premium for 24 hour service. Saturday morning and still no notification of dispatch. Sent an email and was told that Worldpay take 24 hours to show I have paid. This is untrue. This is taken from worldpays own website "Worldpay typically authorises the payment less than 2.5 hours after the funds have been received from the shopper". I have used Worldpay with retailers in the past so I know the facts. Then they tell me the mask I want is not in stock in the colour I ordered. Then they tell me they will dispatch an alternate colour mask on Tuesday for arrival Wednesday. So it takes 5 days to get a mask from South Yorkshire to Hampshire when you pay £9 for delivery? Only if you dont try hard enough!

I paid £9 so I would expect a 24 hour service.
How can you offer a 24 hour service when you say it takes Worldpay 24 hours to process my payment??

20+ years of great service from SDS! Decided to look on the web site for some kit and up popped trust pilot in Google, I don’t usually leave reviews but saw some recent negatives on there that just didn’t fit with our experience over the years because the lads at SDS have always been excellent in supplying, servicing and offering advice. Covid has been difficult for all businesses who import and stock is universally short but they have done their best and are at work to keep us in the water. So thanks guys. You have our vote!

Ordered on the site. They didn't actually have it in stock even though website said did and had ordered it from manufacturer in italy. I only found this out when I called them a week later as nothing arrived to be told I would wait another 10 days! Asked for colour they actually had in stock and chose Red. Parcel arrived few days later containing.... Yellow!! Had to send back to get correct colour.
Update.. So now moved on a few days. Have had Yellow collected on Monday as agreed. Waited in for delivery of Red as told would happen. Nothing! Emailed this morning no reply.. called to be told they didnt go out and it will now be Thursday they will be delivered.
Zero communication unless I contacted them.. nothing done as promised.. Website didnt show true stock.. Get the impression they just dont care about customers. Useless.

Great personal service. Unfortunately with covid restrictions, my order was delayed somewhat, but SDS were fantastic once able to catch up. Order received as requested with alternatives where required due to the delay. Very helpful.

I ordered and paid in full for a 15 litre cylinder, several weeks past with no sign of the delivery so I cancelled the order. I won’t be purchasing anything else from SDS Watersports.

We have been trying to get hold of them for at least half a year. No replies to emails and phones don’t get answered. I know covid has been tough for everyone but how does this count as any sort of service? SDS have had our equipment since March 2020. This is ridiculous.
Thanks this is now sorted. Our equipment has been found and a solution agreed. Glad we got there in the end.

Good quality product
Waited 6months for my order due to problems with my order turning up from their supplier in America. As soon as they got my order it was sent to me and arrived the next day. Good value for the money and excellent quality product.

SDS - closed, but we'll still take your money
I purchased an undersuit via Google Shopping 9 days ago, but having never received any email updates, decided to checkout the SDS website. As such, I have only now noticed that you're not currently trading...but still taking online orders? Bit of a cheek that actually. Had I noticed that at the time, I would not have placed the order.
So going by the fact that the business is closed indefinitely, with no infrastructure in place to at least maintain online trading - I don't know when or if I will ever receive the item purchased. In the circumstances, can you please process a refund to my card asap. I've tried calling and emailing. But as you're closed, not getting a response.
Quite perplexing really; when the majority of online retailers in the UK, including numerous dive stores are still maintaining a quality sales and delivery service.
It would have been simpler, had I just opened a window and threw 96 quid out it.
I suggest you take down your online sales webpages as I don't know of anyone who would be willing to purchase something on the never never. Unless of course, you're like me, and just assumed that if I could currently buy from you online, then you must still currently be selling online.
Of course, I don't expect I'll get a response, as your closed. right?..But still taking orders. Work that one out.

Money taken, no goods supplied.
I ordered a pair of fins from SDS on 1st October and the money was taken from my account on 3rd October. As yet I have received no fins and no update emails. I emailed SDS on Dec 8th and received a reply on 12th December saying,
"You should have received an email from us when you placed the order explaining that we have ordered the fins in for you, all being well we are hoping they should be delivered before Christmas as they are coming from Germany. The order was placed before lockdown but then sadly lockdown came and now everything has ben delayed slightly".
Unfortunately it is now 27th December and I still have not received my order.
The fins arrived by courier lunchtime on 31st December thank-you, and they are a good fit.

Communication could have been a bit …
Communication could have been a bit better initially, especially as the store was closed due to lockdown. A few of my initial emails went unanswered and they weren't contactable by phone for a week or so. But i suppose this is understandable. Once I was able to speak to somebody everything was fine and my D5 arrived as promised. All in all brilliant but when i couldn't contact anyone after placing the order, I was worried for a few days. I would definitely buy from them again.
