we thought our account was arranged with an online portal where we could access information, invoices, update details etc. I had to request our first invoice and only then had been informed that our account had no online access, which is not what we had thought we had agreed to

awful customer service, nightmare to deal with. Refuse to give contract details, despite authority to handle accounts. Email requests are never responded to affectively, never mind adequately. Requests simply are not even read correctly, responds consist of reference numbers with no allocation to request. Random numbers help no one.

Terrible communication from the beginning. Our company went bust so we were automatically transferred to Shell and placed on extortionate rates. Worse still no communication or warning until a bill for over 10x what we had been paying. We were advised originally that we had to stay with Shell then we we asked for a call and quote for a lower rate but it never came. Eventually an apology came for not getting back to us but in the mean time our bill had risen further. We are a registered charity and this bill could close us for good.

Out of all the energy suppliers i have used over the years, for customer service Shell Energy is by far the best.
They always answer telephone and answer emails promptly.
Bills are clear and very easy to understand.

Slow communication over renewal contract pricing and then wanted a huge security deposit even though payments taken by DD and had never been missed. Account management ridiculously poor and has cost me double in out of contract fees.

Wish I could give -5*. Nothing but a complete shambles since day 1. I had hoped that being part of Shell group would mean a professional service. How wrong could I have been. Oh well stuck with them for 2 years!!!

We were not the original Shell Enegy Clients - we are landlords; our tenant was the client, and they went into voluntary CVA whilst still operating as a national business entity, leaving us with liabilities.
We maintained the electrical supply as we needed the electrically operated entrance security doors to be working to gain access.
We are being charged EXCESSIVE and EXHORBITANT daily fixed charges and DUoS charges, despite our useage being minimal! These costs are TENS (+) of times the multiple of our usage costs.
We have suggested that we WILL PAY for all electricity we use and a SENSIBLE and REALISTIC fixed and DUos cost that is LOWER than / SIMILAR to the cost of our actual usage costs.
We get legal threateaning letters, and have now approached the Energy Ombudsman.

The billing system is not clear, they will issue you an invoice for one amount and take from DD another amount, without explanation.
Customer service takes weeks to get back to you via email, on the phone the wait is over 40 min. I have been trying to get my billing explained and changed for over 6 months and still no one takes responsibility or are wiling to help.
