Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the products, citing issues with quality, inaccurate descriptions, and items arriving broken or not as expected. People frequently found the prices to be excessively high, especially when considering the condition of the items. The website itself also drew criticism for its poor functionality and navigation. Absolutely Terrible Experience

Absolutely terrible. Bought a framed print that was supposedly an 1863 map print. The print was copyrighted 1986- but the listing made no mention of this information. The photos also didn’t show the true copyright year. The shipping and handling fee was over $60. Total scam. I can’t believe that Goodwill is so dishonest.

Shipping costs are ridiculous.

Like previous comments, shipping prices are insane. I was charged $24 to ship a sweater from NJ to MN. Ridiculous. I think I got a deal on a few things… but won’t be buying anymore. What a scam.

I’ve been meaning to leave this review…

I’ve been meaning to leave this review for some time. Shop Goodwill randomly blocked my account for no reason. They never responded to numerous attempts to email them.

Their shipping prices are predatory. They will blatantly charge you 5-10 lb for shipping an item that weighs 1 lb or less. Then they will charge you handling on top of that. They try to sell their items (buy it now) and ebay prices but at goodwill condition. Stop supporting this business, it’s crooked.

Shipping prices ridiculous

I bought a hat for 5 dollars. It shouldn't have weighed more than a pound and it shouldn't have had a size of more than 10x10x5 but SOMEHOW, the thing costs 25$ in shipping not even mentioning the handling fee of 5 dollars making my 5 dollar hat 35 DOLLARS. Scummy site through and through

Completely Unethical

I have noticed a major increase in what items are going for. I couldn't believe how much people were paying because the items I buy would not be bought by individuals, mostly just resellers. The prices they were selling for means they would be loosing money. So I started looking at the buyer names. Things like F....1 and F....2, and so on. I also started noticing several lots suddenly being put back up online. This to me is showing that goodwill has some sort of bot trying to create more competition and trick buyers into bidding against a bot and paying more. Goodwill has become nothing but an unethical company.

Their website is slow and sometimes…

Their website is slow and sometimes like dial-up. Like many other ppl have said, "Shipping cost is ridiculous." Not all stores are ripping us off, but those that do should be ashamed of themselves. A very disgusting way to do business. To leave my comments on a good note, I got a refund for an item that was not correct. However, the same item is back up on their website with the same exact description!

If I could give a ZERO I would

If I could give a ZERO I would. Purchased a piece of jewelry and my bad, I did not look at the shipping cost prior to the auction ending. When I saw shipping at 4 pounds, I chocked. An item that should have shipped at 4 ounces cost me 11.56 plus 3.25 handling and 4.52 tax. Ludicrous! So, a 36.00 item costme 55.33. And, they blame the shipping company for the high cost.....BS

Slow to Ship - Rude Customer Service

I "won" order 51211874 on the 17th, paid on the 18th, and contacted the seller on the 25th (to request an estimate of when the item would ship). I received a terse response that items ship within 5 days. I responded it had been over 5 business days and was told it would ship on the 25th. They printed the label. The carrier still hasn't received the package.

Gathering evidence

Hello, I am trying to gather enough evidence to see if we have a chance to expose the goodwill industry or at least shopgoodwill.com. I believe they are overcharging buyers and as a tax exempted non profit which pays their senior level employees six figures and CEO was paid more than a milion dollars last year. And they exploit its handicap workers paying them pennies per hour thru loopholes.

Way overweight items boosting profits.

Saw an item that weighed less than 2 pounds weighing in at 48 pounds on the listing. They keep giving me the same old tired lie about dimensions and box sizes. I have shipped this very item, and I know deceit when I see it. I have closed my account with them. Helping the poor my eye, they're helping themselves.

The price fixing is insane

The price fixing is insane. They will pull and relist items until they get above market price. However, when you receive items you've purchased, the quality is very low. Coupling that with the outrageous shipping prices, I can't think of a worse way to run a business. 0/10

'NOT TESTED POWERS ON" BEWARE

Bought ps4 pro for 96$ from auction. the ad said " NOT Tested powers on". 2 days later the console arrived in a seriously bad damaged box. go to turn the console on and it puts out a display but theirs something wrong with the console because the screen flickers. I go to test the HDMI port and its fine and no shorts. The IC chip went bad that controls the HDMI port causing the screen to flicker and then the console to completely die with white LED on it and no display after a few minutes of turning on every time. I took it to a repair shop and they quoted me 150$ to solder on a new IC chip and resistors as well on the motherboard. they sold me a broken console and knew what they were doing when they sold it. the ad never mentioned once anything was wrong with the console at all. never will donate any of my stuff here anymore or even step foot in a good will store. I will never be a customer again , the cost to repair it was more than what I paid for the console!

They way overcharge for shipping and…

They way overcharge for shipping and don't cooperate with conbines shipping, the reason for this is they make money off the shipping, also their handling fees are outrageous. Generally they are hard to get a long with.

There are questionable taxes being assessed on your purchases

There are questionable taxes being charged system wide. Most states have a fixed sales tax and there may also be a city tax applied to the item depending on where you live. However, shopgoodwill.com is now applying a tax fee that is above the sales tax. They claim that it is a tax for shipping/delivery although most states will not tax items when delivery/shipping costs are listed and are not part of the price. The only case that shopgoodwill.com will not apply the tax is if your state prohibits taxing that item, e.g. clothing. They do tax on items that are not taxable since that would be so obvious a violation. So, what could be the reason to collect this legally prohibitive tax? This could be a way to cover their fees for payment by credit card. It is hard to know at this point without an investigation and audit. But it is being done by them system-wide across all the states by them.

Additionally, combining shipping items according to weight limits from same outlet store may not lower those costs since they have caveats and conditions in place like fixed rate on shipping and handling on items that won't give you any savings for doing so. Therefore, the only decision the consumer faces is one or two packages/boxes to receive the items.

Awful

Awful! If your winning bid isn't the price they hoped for they will recant your bid and relist or sell elsewhere. It's happened too many times to be accidental. However, If you over bid based on poor description you are still forced to buy. Also the shipping/handling/BS other fees are so high as to negate any potential savings you may have had. Avoid!

Find Deals Elsewhere

My first negative experience was being sent a watch that was obviously defective, the crown would not screw down as it should on a water resistant watch. It took a bunch of emails, involving their primary customer service before the issue was resolved.
My second negative experience was an order that didn't ship and didn't ship and didn't ship. I had had enough and asked that my order be cancelled. Magically, it shipped that day. Except it didn't. My guess is they created a label that day so they could say it shipped, because FedEx from their location to mine does not take a week.
It may take a bit of work, but there are other places to find deals. Please, shop anywhere other than Goodwill industries.

Seattle Evergreen Goodwill sells fake…

Seattle Evergreen Goodwill sells fake items. Recently purchased a pair of earrings listed as 925 silver and was initially charged 24 dollars in shipping to send a four ounce package across the state. The shipping was then lowered to 17 dollars (it actually costs them less than four dollars to ship), but the item was totally fake. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS LOCATION.

They marked the sheets as queen and were full. I live 70 miles away. They wouldn’t let me return them because it was over 7 days.
I would have understood if I just didn’t like them but they made the mistake.
Now they charge you for a bag also.
I won’t be buying anything else from Goodwill
