I rented a GWM Haval Jolion for 39 days from Simba Car Hire…
I rented a GWM Haval Jolion for 39 days from Simba Melbourne from early Dec 2025 to Jan 2026. The car had only been rented 1 time fron new. So i was a bit nervous about having a shiny new car for long hire. I noticed the engine bay area was a bit dusty but i guess thats to be expected in Oz with do many dirt roads. Everything went very smooth. The car worked good , booking was easy , price was very competitive, was allowed take car on ferry to Tasmania, staff were responsive, helpful, pickup and dropoff was fast and efficient.A lot cheaper to rent in Melbourne and take to Tassy on the night sleeper ferry. I cleaned the car inside and out before returning as it was covered in dust from 39 days driving, didnt cost much and the car looked like new again. I returned with a full fuel tank. I got my bond money refunded about 1 week after returning the car. At the pickup i took the extra breakdown roadside assistance insurance and it wasnt too much extra. I had my own seperate annual rental car excess insurance so i didnt need Simba's. I can recommend Simba Car hire Melbourne. Customer from Ireland.

Absolutely Harrowing Experience - Avoid
I had the worst car hire experiences of my life with Simba Car Hire in Brisbane. I bought extra insurance because their staff told me I’d be covered for any damage. A hailstorm during the trip caused tiny, barely visible dents, and suddenly they’re demanding over AUD $8,000 from me! Customer service was cold and completely unhelpful. The way the staff handled the situation showed no understanding or willingness to review what I had been told at collection, it felt like I wasn't the first to be a victim of this scam!. The entire experience left me frustrated, misled, and massively out of pocket. I’d honestly rather walk than use this company again. Avoid at all costs!!!

I came across the Simba website when I was looking for a car subscription. After some research they appeared to be quite cheap so I filled out the enquire now form for the car I was interested in. I didn't hear anything back from then so I thought I would give them a call.
When I called I advised that I was interested in their car subscription service and said what car I was interested in. I was on hold a couple of times and then was asked when I would like to get the car. I said I would be looking at picking it up within the next 2 days if possible. Again, I was put on hold. When the agent came back they said I wouldn't be able to pick up the car for 7 days and then said I would need to complete the enquiry form on their website and someone would get back to me to advise if the car was available. I advised that I had already completed the enquiry form and asked when I would receive a call. The agent then said that I also need to send an email which was completely confusing and made zero sense. I asked if I have filled out the enquiry form and I send an email, when would I receive a call to confirm that that the car was available. The agent said they dont know when I would get a call.
After that I told them not to worry about it as it sounded like she had absolutely no idea what was going on. Clearly they dont want new customers. I will go to another subscription provider, even if they do cost a bit more. At least I might actually get some customer service and clear information on how it works.

The first car was presented with had three unroadworthy tyres. The second vehicle, while a short notice, was not very clean. I was not offered any sort of compensation for the delay or inconvenience. Simba. Do a good price and I can tell they are trying to deliver good customer service service.

We had an amazing time this weekend and it was all thanks to Simba! The car was solid, affordable, and the whole process was quick and easy. We did have a tyre blow out during the trip, but they handled it brilliantly — the return was completely stress-free and they came to the party by refunding the cost of the tyre since it wasn’t our fault, which we really appreciated. A big thank you to the team down on South Road, absolutely fantastic to deal with and made the whole experience even better. Thanks heaps, Simba!
Never booking through booking.com again
I had a shocking experience booking yhe car hire through booking.com and being unable to change the driver details. Simba were so helpful and were able to sort out another vehicle for me at the last hour. Will never book car hire through booking.com again and will ensure to book directly with the car company
