MR2 - Luke

Spoke to Luke on the phone to insure my 1996 MR2 Turbo. Being 23 years old it is difficult to insure this but all my mods declared and I was quoted a good price. Sky Insurance, Luke is a credit to you, proper nice to talk to and knows his stuff about cars. Hopefully taking out this policy soon :)

Great customer service and price

Luke who sold me my policy was fantastic, last year I called round 2-3 other "modified cars specialists" and frankly spoke to people who clearly didn't like modified cars and it came across followed by a daft quote.

Luke was friendly with a brilliant telephone mannerand understood my engine conversion and supporting modifications and got me a great price.

Great job mate

The member of staff who dealt with me was very kind, good at what he does and well informed. Got me the best quote with all the benefits i wanted.

Please please people do not insure your…

Please please people do not insure your son or daughter with these people , the black box gives a % rate every day and it kept going down , they rang and said my sons driving was bad , even though for 2 weeks his car was in the garage and it still kept going down . It went down to poor in 6 months and yesterday they cancelled it after 6 months and £2,227 , they are a rip off and now my son can’t drive , he is so upset , disgusting company

We’re sorry to hear you’re unhappy.

We would like to provide some clarification regarding the Telematics Black Box score and our cancellation process.

The score is based on several areas: acceleration, speed, braking, the consistency of driving, and the time of day the vehicle was used. However, much more importance is placed upon how a vehicle is driven and not when. The score is not reduced when a vehicle is not is use, so if we had been in contact to issue a warning, it was because the vehicle was in fact being used, and the standard of driving was poor to the point that it flagged up within our system for us to review. We would then contact you and offer guidance on how to improve on this area and how to avoid warnings in future.

As Black Box policies are largely aimed new drivers, we do not expect perfect driving from the start; we appreciate it takes time. To offer a form of assistance, we have even invested in a dedicated Black Box department, whose job it is to monitor the data and offer friendly advice for those who are struggling on how their score could be better.

If our advice is not heeded, this could result in warnings being issued. If multiple warnings are accumulated and the quality of driving does not improve, we are left with no option but to cancel, as it would be irresponsible for us to continue covering a driver who is not displaying a competent driving ability. Before cancellation, we issue a final warning to offer another chance for the driver to improve.

Furthermore, a driver doesn’t have to wait for our call to know if their driving is good or bad; they can see their own data on an online dashboard, displaying all the areas discussed here.

We will stress that it’s not in our interest to cancel policies. Hence why we go to great lengths to help improve scores and advise on the seriousness and consequences of repeated poor driving.

Luke Tillbrook an asset to Sky Insurance

Spoke to Luke Tillbrook a few times regarding my car insurance and finally bit the bullet and went ahead with it. Luke has always provided a top service, been very professional and answered any queries I’ve had. A real asset to the company. I wish all customer service was as good as this! 10/10 and will definitely recommend to friends and family. 👌🏻
