Quick and easy!
Well, that was quick and easy! From Joshua’s initial visit to access our loft to getting the job complete was very well handled. Once we decided to go ahead the pre-installation team were here to empty the loft; and they returned two days after completion to put everything back again. The whole team were polite and friendly, and did an excellent job of clearing up afterwards. We’ve noticed the radiators are all warm now instead of having to be blasting heat out. Great job guys!

Had my loft checked by Barry recently and all I can say is thank goodness I did! I haven’t been in my loft in years however had my concerns as my house is always absolutely Baltic particularly upstairs! Well sir not anymore, I was taken step by step through the process from start to finish and everything was very transparent, any questions I did have were answered clearly, I am already reaping the rewards of a toastie home and no longer worrying about the winter! Great service and workmanship
I agreed to have smarter insulation come out to do a free health check in my loft space , I hadn’t been up there in years , Callum done a very in-depth survey of my attic explaining and showing me videos of everything that was going on up there I then agreed a price and had the spray foam insulation installed on Friday 10th of November 2023 and I must say the change I feel to the heat in my home already is very much to my surprise
Highly recommend this product if you want to stay warm .

Spray foam insulation
Had a chap Callum out to survey the loft and determine whether or not we would benefit from open cell insulation. After seeing the video and stats of the condition of loft (turned out we had wood worm that we disnt know about which they treated) and what we could save on bills, we decided to go ahead and get it done. From the day we gave the go ahead it was installed within a couple if days. We are already noticing a massive difference in heat loss. The only thing was that the installer was 45 minutes later than he said but still done a fantastic job imo and left no mess.

DO NOT HAVE THIS INSTALLED
This company installed the loft insulation in December 2022 after we had been told the benefits of this kind of insulation. We now wish to sell our house. The surveyor arrived and we were told that no mortgage company will offer mortgages on properties that have this kind of insulation. The risk of moisture and damp retention can lead to rotting of the timbers in the long term. We will now have to have the insulation removed to sell our house. DO NOT HAVE THIS INSULATION INSTALLED. Smarter Installations are very plausible and give a good sales pitch, but it is a VERY EXPENSIVE MISTAKE TO MAKE.

Missold product
Our recent home report highlighted spray insulation in the roof void would be problematic for selling due to a limited number of lenders allowing mortgages on homes with this type of insulation. The solution on the report was to have it removed. This company were informed that the house was going on the market but did not highlight this issue.
We have telephoned this company several times over the last few weeks and they have failed to fully engage with us to resolve this issue.

Very efficient!
Had Smarter Insulations out to look at my loft, noticed a lot of heat loss in my house so wanted to reduce the costs where I could. The lad came out showed me the readings in the loft and had the foam fitted few days later. The boys tidied up after and were very efficient. Weather has been a bit warm to see the difference so far but whole experience from start to finish was smooth sailing.

Was told we had black mould, white mould and roof joists were damp. Paid deposit but changed our minds and cancelled next day. Telephoned and emailed company several times leaving messages on thier answer machine for my deposit to be refunded. A week later still no reply. I have since had a roofer in and the problems they stated do not exist.

Trying to get my guarantee certificate and letter confirming that insulation was installed by manufacturers recommendations. I have phoned numerous times but despite reassurances this will be done, I still have not received these.

The engineer Chris who called to inspect the loft was excellent. He explained everything well and we decided to go ahead with the work. The fitters were good, no messing about and the job was completed quickly. My disabled dad lives upstairs and we have noticed a big difference in the warmth in the house.
