Bring back Hegarty
Once upon a time I had dreams - dreams of a brighter future and a life of luxe living and prosperity. I'd wake, eager and ready to face the day, a smile on my face. Daddy Hegarty would always be there, right by my side.
That dream ended long ago. Daddy Hegarty left and with his absence there was a place for a new daddy, a meaner daddy. Daddy Dixon isn't as kind, Daddy Dixon doesn't care for me like Daddy Hegarty did...
"I'm sorry, Daddy, I promise to write the bookwork codes!" I cry. Daddy Dixon doesn't care.
"Daddy, look! I'm level 3 now! That's over 30,000XP!" I try for a smile, hopeful at the promise of reward. Daddy Dixon doesn't reward me, he never does... His promises are empty, purely to taunt me and tease me.
Daddy Dixon stands behind me when I do my Sparx, I think he watches me sleep too.
Come back Daddy Hegarty, I'm so very scared without you to guide me. I miss your warm arms, your love, your songs. Daddy Dixon never sings to me like you did...
just imagine this… - the novel.
just imagine this: your sitting in lesson, quietly minding your own business. the teacher quietly sirs down at his desk and mutters the following: “right.” “time to check sparx everyone.” you will begin to hear it, the muffled cries of students, the echoing hyperventilation. the teacher slowly moves his crusty 2007 mouse across the greasy wooden desk and double clicks the google icon in the task bar. the breathing grows louder. he’s typed it in the search bar, heck he probably even has it saved in his bookmark. by now the tension in the air is so tight i almost want to vomit. i’m suppressing the urge to gag when all of a sudden, click. a web page loads up. everything seems to be in slow motion, my vision begins to blur, it’s almost if someone is squeezing my organs. the blinding light of the wide smartboard curses us all. my ears ring, all of our names on the board, every detail of what we did over the weekend, displayed raw for the world to see. i scan with my eyes, i can feel the sweat droplets forming on my forehead, and everyone in the room has begun to noticeably fret. my name. i feel a sharp object impale my heart. 0%. Not opened. I begin to cough. I cannot hold it in anymore. the cries of students are no longer muffled. the screams and agonizing whimpers haunt me everytime i close my eyes. some fall down, some freeze on their seats, unwilling to move, paralysed. the teacher has a massive grin plastered across his face. almost as if he is at a cinema, enjoying the suffering of the students displayed before him. i no longer see him as my teacher. i see him as an evil being, who’s only purpose is to make people under 18s life a living hell during school years. how are we able to ‘enjoy’ our young years if we are being tortured with this learning program. mark dixon. i hope you see this and have a long hard think tonight in bed about what you have created. i assume that this was not your intention. and i hope that this will be promptly fixed (deleted).
Ps. why does the sparx video demo lady sound like she’s being held hostage with a large gun to her head.

Genuine review from a student :D
Genuine review from a student, this mind numbing site doesn’t add anything to my learning experience and makes it a lot more difficult, balancing gcse revision with 1 hour maths skills I will never use elsewhere is difficult enough, but this site is horribly thought through, for example, let’s say you spend a long time on a difficult question but you accidentally put in the wrong answer by misclicking or making a minor mistake; after 1-3 mistakes, they switch to question to an easier one, so all your progress on the prior question goes down the drain, some users won’t notice this change has occurred, so they continue to put in the answer for the last question which gives them more wrong answers, eventually resulting in a purple flag, which I believe emails you teacher or parents to seek help, this creates an unnecessarily tense and nerve racking fear to doing sparx maths, along with the emails parents receive and how the site obsessively tracks your bookwork and time on a question, this site is not at all intuitive or engaging, from my point of view, a neurodivergent, stressed, anxious teen going through exams; it’s utterly terrifying. The site has potential but currently desperately needs improvements. Thanks for reading ❤️
I ABSOLUTLY LOVE SPARX
I ABSOLUTLY LOVE SPARX. Sparx has captured my heart and torn in into a billion pieces. I should watch a video to calculate the area, but I got a seek help after 100 attempts. In the end I threw my laptop at my sandwich. MY SANDWICH IS RUINED ALL BECAUSE OF SPARX.
Annoying Book check
Honestly, it's not the way the stuff is taught, I actually learn from it. What I despise is the book check. It ruins what would have been a helpful learning/homework thing. It's so unnecessary and ruins everything good about it. If I forget to write everything down and get a book check thing I have to restart which is incredibly inconvenient and removes the fun from learning. Please think about removing it because I know I am not the first person to make this point.
Smashing
I love sparx! It’s such a useful way to spend your free time as the hours fly by. This is the reason GSCE grades are higher.
Great Bookwork system, very unique and helpful.
Sparks maths is horrible
Sparks maths is horrible it says it puts questions for your level but it then just throws in rocket science randomly
Sparx has heart but no soul
Sparx is a software designed to help people with their homework but the website in fact makes learning harder. The book checks is awful and forces people to write stuff down. Honestly, this is a common problem among teachers trying to make their jobs easier by dumping homework on students without thinking.

ONE OF THE WORST APPS ON PLANET EARTH
ONE OF THE WORST APPS ON PLANET EARTH. This app makes me want to jump off a mother flipping cliff. The book checks is bullsh*t, the videos that are supposed to “explain how to do the question” makes no sense at all plus it makes me want to break my laptop and it stresses me out to the point of having a mental breakdown. TEACHERS DONT GET THIS APP!
