Dear sparx creator(s)

Dear sparx creator(s)
The only reason why I remotely like you is because my old teacher left to help create you but I'm genuinely very disappointed with what you have replaced hegarty maths with. I liked hegarty maths because of its easy to use lay out and sleekness aswell as videos that don't make me want me to rip my eyes out. I just don't like how sparx is layed out and the amount of difficulty i have when trying to use it to revise. This has genuinely made my revision life so much harder when it comes to maths to the point i find myself having multiple break down cause i cant find the help i need and I can't see how this was supposed to be better than hegarty. My advice would be either bring back hegarty or change sparx so it's like hegart but with the added feature of book checks as you seem to love them so much

Great update!

I previously gave this site a 2 star but I think the recent update has been a massive improvement. It has made the website have a much friendly and welcoming look, while also making it smoother and easier to use. There are also a decreased amount of Bookwork Checks which has pleased a lot of my classmates. Well done Sparx!

Please can you make this website dyslexia/visual stress friendly

Please can you make this website dyslexia/visual stress/dspraxia freindly
Because I personnaly have visual stress, and I find it really hard to read of this website because of the white backround.I would find it very very useful if you could make it optional to be able to change the backround color and also make it so that you can copy text and put it into a voice app and I can hear what it says,I find it really diffucult to use this website and I would actually enjoy doing sparx if it had these options, please consider my request,It would benifit me immensly and I will be able to enjoy maths again. Please do this I know other people would benifit aswell.

Fix your update, PLEASE

Might I suggest to WHOEVER owns or runs the sparx maths system. Add new USEFUL features like from Seneca, I can complete my Seneca in less time than it take me to complete one question on sparx. After your updated version of sparx there cas been one consistant bug, your page when you go to the Home Screen from a question is stuck in your loading screen! Can you PLEASE just add a feature which shows on EVERY question what your doing right and what your doing wrong. THANK YOU.

END THIS EVIL WEBSITE

Sparx Maths is a disgraceful piece of software. I was utterly disgusted by its quality and effectiveness, particularly the horrendous bookwork checks. Mark Dixon, the owner, should be ashamed to have his name associated with this abysmal product. Don't waste your time or money on it.

Teachers, please please stop using this crappy Sparx maths

The bookmark checks are a pathetic way of trying to ensure the work has actually been done. They waste a huge amount of time that could have been spent answering more complex questions or just chilling . The questions are generated by AI and don’t satisfactorily match a student’s level and potential. It is pathetically repetitive, with multiple questions on particular topics rather than mixed questions encompassing multiple topics, which is what one gets at GCSE. One is marked wrong when one’s answer can be perfectly correct, due to significant faults with this condescending maths “learning” platform. Why mark students incorrect for writing answers which are only “incorrect” because one is forced to type the answer. There seems to be no matching of skills to what would be acceptable in a GCSE exam eg no recognition that the same correct answer can be written in multiple ways. In GCSE one merely has to write an answer somewhere in a box, whereas Sparx can’t cope with the concept that an answer might have been reached or put in a different way, but nonetheless indicates that the student fully understood what is being tested. There is no way of obtaining any recognition that one has got something partially correct, whereas in GCSE and then A level one is often allowed to get some or almost all of the marks for a particular question and there is often a wide variety of ways that one can do this. But most importantly, the Sparx questions are often banal and condescending and utterly boring repetitions, when what an inspiring platform should aim at is making the learning applicable and relatable and practical and useful to student and everyday life experience. Indeed practical application of maths skills is given lip service. And if the aim is to improve a student’s chances of getting a grade 4/5 or much better at GCSE maths, then surely the learning should be matched to actual GCSE questions and the way the actual GCSE questions are marked and formulated and presented. In GCSE exams there are multiple, mixed questions, which often cover several diverse skills at once. Nothing tells you in GCSE how to answer a particular question or what topic(s) it involves, whereas only endlessly doing similar questions on roughly the same topic does not prepare one for GCSE where most of the difficulty might come from how to approach the question in the first place. And why not put massively more emphasis on relevant and practical questions and written word maths questions? In conclusion, this maths platform is utterly appalling both in its horrible and patronising format/content and in the very poor and uninspiring way it tries to drum very particular techniques into a student. And if a student by some miracle isn’t switched off to maths learning when they begin, they certainly are by the time they’ve completed their sparx maths crappy homework. Teachers, please please please stop using it altogether and instead give students work that stands some chance of truly inspiring them and stands some chance of truly matching what they can do and what they might be capable of.

THIS MAKES ME WANT TO COMMIT MURDER

I recently had the opportunity to use Sparx Maths, and I must say that my experience was far from satisfactory. Here are some of the reasons why I found this software lacking:

Limited Content: Sparx Maths seemed to have a limited range of content. The exercises and problems provided did not cover a wide enough spectrum of topics and were often repetitive. This left me feeling unchallenged and unengaged.

Lack of Personalization: One of the promised features of Sparx Maths is personalized learning, but I didn't find it to be effective. The software didn't adapt well to my learning pace and often presented me with material I had already mastered, making the learning experience frustrating.

Technical Issues: I encountered frequent technical glitches while using Sparx Maths. These issues disrupted my learning flow and added unnecessary frustration to the experience.

User Interface: The user interface of Sparx Maths is clunky and not very user-friendly. Navigating through the platform was not intuitive, and it took me a while to figure out how to access different features.

Lack of Support: When I faced issues or had questions, I found it difficult to get timely and helpful support from Sparx Maths' customer service. It's crucial to have good support, especially for educational software.

Cost vs. Value: Considering the subscription cost, I expected a higher level of quality and value from Sparx Maths. Unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations in this regard.

Overall, my experience with Sparx Maths was disappointing. I would not recommend it to others based on the issues I encountered during my use. There are better alternatives available in the market that offer a more comprehensive and effective learning experience.

What was the point?

Why was it online, yet we had to write it down in our books, it was just extra work. If us students, have to write it down in our books, just let us have the work fully in our books, not needing to enter it online. I'm glad our school stopped using Sparx, homework should only be fully online or fully using paper. Also some of us were lazy.

If I could give this negative stars I…

If I could give this negative stars I would.
This app makes me miss hegartymaths because it’s so damn horrendous. I’ve been stuck on several questions doing exactly what I was taught in class, they’re somehow wrong, but when I do this completely different thing that makes no sense apparently that’s right? Also the bookwork checks are literally useless, like why do we need to write it in our books it literally serves no purpose and it’s not like it’s gonna affect any of us in the next five years. I wish for sparx maths to be deleted, I’m sorry but it’s just horrible in mine and a lot of other peoples opinions.

An Honest Opinion From Glyn School

Hello, this is an honest opinion from Glyn School (A major school in the borough of Epsom and Ewell), and our team of maths teachers have gathered information about the site, from interviewing students affected by this said website. Most results show that students of our school love the site, and have been nourished, and aside form the multiple suicide accounts, with the note saying "Sparx did this to me", a wonderous thing, that inspires a love for math in our students. We took a further look in to the suicides, and found they where due to the bookwork checks, torturing and destroying the students sanity. However, we believe there is no such thing as mistakes, only learning! 😁😁😁. The few 1000 suicides linked to the creation of this maths learning website is only a minor issue.

Yours sincerely,
Glyn School Epsom.
