Worst website for maths ever created, other websites like TT rockstars and my maths are far superior. It makes you write down and copy all of the questions even though you have to submit them online.... See more

I genuinely hate Sparx Maths (and also Sparx Reader). It's extremely stressful and time consuming. Most of the time, Sparx will set you work that isn't even learnt at school. It's an awful thing and H... See more

Absolutely full of rubbish

Absolutely full of rubbish. Students are thrown into a pit and left to fend for themselves. Garbage videos create more confusion. Developers of their platform should reconsider this development. The software is completely user non-friendly. Stuck on a question? Tough, no one can help you, and you're stuck in a loophole, expected to find your way out.

Suffering

Nothing like writing something down on a book and going back online, really makes my weekends fun, especially when my dad shouts at me because Sparx sends him an email EVERY SINGLE DAY because i missed a task for a few days before its deadline and even worse, its questions are terrible and while i do hate homework websites, this one is crowned the king of crap

BRING HEGARTY BACK!

This is the worst website I have ever used, our school switched from hegarty to this terrible platform which is worse in every way possible. Me and my whole school want hegarty back and this rubbish to be buried in a landfill.

Sparx Maths - Good sometimes, bad other times.

Positives:
- Gives you 2 chances to answer a question
- Extra optional work
- Very simple format
- Easy to understand the logistics
- Calculator questions are ok
- At the end of each group of questions, there is a minigame
- If you get a question wrong, it provides a video explaining the topic

Negatives:
- The questions are always either tedious or incredibly easy without calculators
- Codes can be lost via losing the physical book or by having a file corrupt
- No incentive to get extra XP
- Minigames are also incredibly easy
- Questions are no longer accessible after the due date if completed. This means that you can't look back on work you've done previously.

Extra information:
- In Sparx Maths, you must write down a code for the question next to the question itself. It is recommended to write in a physical book, but it also works online via Docs or Word or such programs.

- There are speed rounds you can optionally select as a teacher.

- It focuses on having many short questions rather than few long questions

Overall rating: 45/100 - 65/100 depending on the situation

Absolute codswallop

Absolute codswallop.

SparxMaths is a complete waste of my time. I don't think I'm learning anything from it, other than how to feel pure rage. The Bookwork Checks take hours of my time which I don't have, and I understand the question even without these blasted checks. If I wanted to do some extra Sparx practice, I'd cancel all future arrangements for the next three years. Also, it doesn't even tell me the answer when I get it wrong, leaving me feeling incredibly incredibly stupid, and resulting in me not learning anything at all. HegartyMaths is far superior, and I shall be writing a formal complaint to the school.

Angry Regards,
Jack

holy crap this is awful

holy crap this is awful

I hated Hegarty a lot but this is infinitely worse

when my teacher said we were gonna start using sparx I asked her why since everyone I had talked to hated it. she said it was a decision made by professional maths teachers who knew the best.

and if the best is making your students hate you and their homework even more, then she was right.

why do I have to work in my book? that just adds more trouble towards doing your homework, no one likes doing it and we want to get it done with as soon as possible. not to mention, what if I don't have access to paper or a book? its just stupid, genuinely how does it help because I do not understand

this is the worst homework site I have ever use, and in primary I used purple mash so thats saying something.

please stop, fix your website and stop making kids hate their teachers more.

sparx maths is awful

This is ridiculous how do they expect me to do 100% when i cant even get that in an hour and apparently it learns you as a user and if it did why am i getting 50 questions a week. Also just to add about how stressful this is compared to other websites. Using this website ruins my week i would like to say that i feel like death after doing sparx from all the crying its awful. These bookwork codes do nothing because with the amount you have to write down u cant spot the one your looking for so it makes u retake a million different things. Overall i say get rid of sparx maths

number 1 way to break your keyboard

sparx maths is an educational program that my school recently started forcing us to use, its a smart concept but i now have a broken hand due to smashing my keyboard in rage. technically it was my fault but im not writing out answers and codes but on the other hand it takes 90 percent of my time. one bookmark check made me go from 70 percent complete on homework to 40 percent, completely unfair as thats 30 percent of homework extra i have to do. after that id rather the detention.

not only is sparx annoying in that way, it also send emails to parents when homework is not complete. which is over the top for a bit of simple maths.

overall sparx is hell and if you are a teacher thinking about putting this addition to your homework, please consider the wellbeing of your students.

Sparx Math is an useless application

Sparx Math is an useless application compared to Hegarty maths and DrFrostMaths, I think this because The bookwork check is just annoying and the questions are pain as they say its wrong even though its correct. Also the fact that you need 100% to complete the Task is radical as some students may struggle with Maths in general. The Videos are ok. I will not Recommend Sparx Maths to your school/University

I don't like sparx maths

the book work checks seem pointless and are more annoying than helpful and the videos are very little help and the fact 100% is needed to pass is annoying

Difficult to use

As a student, i think that the app is horrible! Students are required to recieve 100 percent scores or else the app doesnt count it as complete, this is not ideal for students who may possibly struggle with the task at hand. The vidoes are useless and the problems in the videos are always so much simpler than the actual problems (rendering them useless). This may not apply to all schools but failing to get all 100 percent on all questions results in 30 minute after school detentions, which i find unfair. The website has no shame in informing you that it saves teachers time, but what about the students?

This website is atrocious!!!!!

This website is atrocious because it requires you to do maths in your book and on the computer/electronic device. The videos are helpless and the person who made this should be ashamed to make kids work so hard.
