I have been greatly disappointed with…

I have been greatly disappointed with Sports Direct in Kettering.
I usually do lots of shopping there.
As I work in the NHS, I usually use my blue card to have 10%discount but recently I forgot my card and as I had my NHS badge, the cashier refused to give me the discount.
I personally think the cashier should have been more understanding. He could have accepted my badge as proof of an NHS employee just for once.
I spent £200 on shopping, I simply cancelled this shopping when he refused.
I am sure with the COVID, the shop is not doing too many sales and with his lack of initiative, this cashier is not even helping his company in this difficult time and especially us, key workers.

Stole money off me!!

Stole money off me!!! don't use - they are Everlast and DW gyms too. I was a member of DW. froze my membership and then cancelled with notice, took money from me via DW, cancelled my direct debit. Then they sneakily opened the same reference DD under sports direct! bank have claimed that one back for me but I've emailed in august and September and no response, can't get through on the phone! Trading standards need to be involved!

Fraudulent use of direct debit

Was member of DW in Blackburn. Gym has been shut since March 2020 so DW froze my direct debit. On 1st October sports direct took £43 from my account without any prior notice. The gym is still shut and my previous payments were £28/month as I had NHS discount. Been on sports direct fitness website n it says thank you NHS. What an absolute joke. This is tantamount to theft

My membership with DW was on hold as I got ill before the lockdown. At this point all was paid up, on the 1st October I had £59.24 taken out of my account. I am still unable to go to the Gym due to long term affects of the virus, and there is not the option to cancel.

All good so far!

I have recently joined everlast fitness Kettering and have been impressed so far. Good range of machines, clean environment, great pool and changing rooms- all for £19.99 a month. On my induction a PT showed me around and explained how to use the machines and suggested a routine for me to follow. I have never been a gym-goer before so this was all much appreciated.

0 Stars AWFUL!!!

Same as others..cancelled my membership with the Dw Fitness gym on August 26th and paid the final amount of £29.98 to come out of this contract, this was done online. On the 1st of October Everlast group took £38.00 out of my account, when I am no longer a member!!! Have been on hold to head office for 50 minutes and get first in line and then the call goes dead!! Absolutely fuming, what a s*** show!

Fraudulent direct debit

As per others who have left similar comments.
My membership was cancelled with DW. DW administrators apparently took the money last month which I got refunded by the bank immediately.
Oct 1st was blatant fraud by Everlast or SportsDirectFitn on my bank statement. They had used my DW direct debit mandate which has been previously cancelled! Bank again has refunded immediately.
Hopefully that’s the end of it!

0 stars if possible- awful!

0 stars if possible. The gym was always ok but not particularly clean. I froze my membership over lockdown and had a full payment taken when my gym became Sports Direct / Everlast. I sent about 6 emails to cancel and had no reply, so also cancelled my direct debit. I’ve now had a new direct debit taken from a new company. Shocking!

Taken money from my account no authority. Cancelled with DW during lockdown and have now had payment taken from my bank account from this company for a gym membership I don’t have £46 for nothing. No way to get in touch with them. My husband also cancelled his and the same just short of £100 in total completely shocking!

Taken funds from my account without any authorisation , call staff unhelpful.
The way this transition has taken place and the way members have been just trampled over and robbed is disgusting.
I will not be going anywhere near any sports direct or any Fraser group outlets again unless this wrong it put right. Fuming!

There is no way to cancel memberships…

There is no way to cancel memberships for Sports Direct after the take over from DW. Today I had an unauthorised amount of £35 taken from my account.

Over the last 6 weeks, I have bombarded customer service and the billing departments with emails to cancel membership with immediate effect to no avail!!

Obviously this not managed correctly or run with customers in mind, I then tried to ring Sports Direct Customer service and Everlast fitness without any reply, mostly the line going dead.

I am now going to my bank to dispute the unauthorised charge to see if I can get the £70 for last months charge rebated, it is a joke that companies like this can continue to DD accounts in a difficult climate and not answer customer calls or emails.

This demonstrates a below par service, I will never use Sports direct again including its main shops!

I have emailed 6 times plus used the contact us form to cancel my membership and my husbands. My son has also emailed to cancel but we have had no response from the company at all. I received a message in August to say they were taking over the business but my husband has had no message regarding his membership transferring over. Today my son and husband have found that they have taken money out of their account even with the DD being cancelled. The company has set up the DD on their accounts again. We are also in lockdown as is well as the town where the gym is situated so we are unable to attend also we are both in our late 69 and 70 and don’t feel it would be safe to attend if we wanted. Not a good company to deal with as you are unable to speak to them and they do not reply to emails. All they do is take money for a service that can’t be used.

Not that great, best to go in the morning than evening.

I have been coming here since I was a kid and it gets worse every year. The website is always down, I have booked many times and they would say that I haven't booked but lucky I got in a couple of time because of someone else having the same problem. Today I got told of by a woman who works there because I didnt wipe down where I was but that was only because she was in my way and thought I could do it a little after, also her job is CLEANING wich she was mopping the floors when people where exercising. That is a danger hazard and I have seen someone slip before. This should be done when everyone gose out and others wait outside. This cleaner was rude and came right up near my face didnt even say "please can you wipe down after using" wich many people don't and her job is to clean anyway. I shopped what I was doing and try to clean but I'm short and couldn't reach because she just mopped the floor and didnt want to slip. Also they ran out of hand gell last week and have not be restocked. Also one of the girls said that they don't bother cleaning after 4 o'clock and for proof, I accidentally left my swimming costume in the shower and went back for it after 20 minutes of leaving but no one handed it in. I have mental health issues so this doesn't help, also no more then 7 people in the pool but I have been in with 8 before and had to go out early.
However the older people who go to the gym are lovely and will chat with you but one of them mentioned that the card machine is down and in a middle of a heat wave but wouldn't allow anyone water.

Nearly impossible to cancel membership!

I emailed the membership team in July to request a cancellation of my membership. The gym was closed due to coronavirus at the time. Everlast was not taking payments from my account as a result of this. I therefore canceled my direct debit. I received an email at the start of September telling me that I need to reinstate my DD so that they can process the cancellation. When I emailed to ask why, they responded that they need to take 3 months worth of 'notice' payments off my account, according to my contract. All good and well, but I brought it to their attention that the gyms had been closed for two out of those three months, and so I should only have to pay them for one month. I did not hear back via email, so I tried calling them. it took me 40 minutes on hold to reach a representative over the phone (ridiculous customer service!!) only to be told that the system was down and that she could not help me unless I called back later--AFTER 40 MINUTES ON HOLD. I would not recommend joining an Everlast gym. Gyms are on the way out, anyway.
