What can I say about Sundowner holidays apart from AMAZING. This was our 4 th holiday we have booked with
Sundowner and each one has been exceptional.

We travelled to Kenya Feb 2022 and stayed at Kichwa Tempo in the Masai Mara, our guide was Anne who made each day an adventure. She asked us each day what we wanted to see and her determination and enthusiasm was infectious towards discovering the animals we specified. All the staff were fantastic and we were truly made to feel special and cared for from the moment we arrived. The second part of our holiday was at Dinai beach staying at Waterlovers. All I can say is WOW, the hotel was beautiful, the staff were attentive and nothing was to much trouble. The beach was naturally beautiful, clean, safe and amazing snorkelling on the reef.
Once again James and your team you have pulled it out of the bag, always sensitive to our needs. We always set James and the team a challenge to beat the last holiday and they certainly came through this time . Can’t wait for next adventure. Thank you all once again.

The Safari at Kichwa Tempo in the Masai Mara was everything we could have wished for, our guide Anne was excellent and great fun and all the staff looked after us so well.
Our beach stay at Waterlovers at Dinai beach was also wonderful.
The beach was the best we’ve ever been on , clean , safe , clear water and a reef to snorkel on .
The hotel itself was small and intimate and beautifully decorated with wood carvings and furniture etc , we loved it !
Again, the staff were really lovely and couldn’t have been more charming and helpful throughout our stay .
Thank you to James and his team at Sundowner for arranging this wonderful trip and to all the hard working staff at the two resorts who made sure we had such a great time .

We booked our holiday to Costa Rica this Feb with sundowner holidays,Lucy was brilliant she organised everything for us,the itinerary,and the accommodation was excellent,it was just the right mix of tours and beach/pool time for my daughter.we would definitely recommend/use sundowner again when we next go on holiday

Just returned from 16 days Sri Lanka organised by Jo at sundowners. I have normally travelled independently so his was a new experience for me but Jo listened to our requirements and put together an amazing itinerary. I had concerns about having a driver for 2 weeks but Jo reassured me that it was the way to go we had was worth his weight in gold for his insights into local culture and the environment that he had to offer. The trip was everything we hoped for an much more besides. Can't recommend this company highly enough. Thank you for an amazing time :)

We have just come back from a customised trip to Sri Lanka and the Maldives organised by Jo at sundowner and I must say it’s probably the best holiday we have ever been on. Our stay at 5 different locations was fantastic in high quality boutique hotels and a week at Oblu at helengeli in the Maldives was idyllic. We stayed at gal oya national park, Jim’s farm villas, and Ashburnham tea estate. We loved all three with food and hospitality exceptional.

We knew Sri Lanka had such variety to offer. The question was, what would be sensible to pack into our 17 days? The incredible Lucy worked with us to deliver an itinerary and set of hotels that made this the holiday of a lifetime. Her attention to detail and ability to understand what we were looking for in our holiday gave us wow factor experiences wherever we were. She enabled us to enjoy the huge variety that Sri Lanka has to offer, from history, culture, mountains, game reserves and beaches. Sri Lanka is a stunning country, and if you are looking for something truly memorable and prefer to stay in small boutique hotels rather than major chains, you couldn’t find anyone better than Lucy and Sundowner to organise your holiday for you.

Our experience with Sundowner was good. We had lots of hiccups during the booking process which James made easier for us in terms of finding hotels with the available dates etc.
In the end we didn't get to stay in the resort that we wanted in the Maldives and had to go for a 4* hotel which was a bit of a shame.
Flights were changed a few times during booking which meant we had to book another night - again made easier by James, but meant more money was spent that initially thought - we could have used this money for a better resort in the Maldives (or a direct flight home)!
The places that we stayed in Sri Lanka were lovely - however none of them knew it was our honeymoon and were surprised when we told them. It would have been nice to have the the whole 'honeymoon experience' without having to ask for it!
On our return home, there was a big mix up with the airport hotel that we were told to book into in Male - the hotel was clearly being used as a quarantine hotel and was not a nice experience for the last night of our honeymoon.
Our flight was then delayed meaning we had to miss our connecting flight which meant a 12 hour lay over in Colombo airport - again, a direct flight from Male to Heathrow could have been booked to save the airport hotel disaster and the delays at the airport - a negative way to end an all round good honeymoon.

Really great personal advice and service to tailor our holiday - cant wait to go now!

This is the first time I have used Sundowner to book a holiday with and it will not be the last. I have recently booked a Safari with them and was impressed with the knowledge Jo and the team had, I even suddenly had to change the departure date, this was done smoothly with no fuss, all in all a great company to book a holiday with

Sundowner are an Amazing Company and they are the best at arranging fabulous but individual holidays. The attention to details is second to none!! James is always so very helpful and has created some unforgettable experiences for us. Highly recommend.

I cannot recommend Sundowners enough. They have provided us with one great holiday in South Africa & Zimbabwe, so we booked another one with them to Costa Rica. Unfortunately, due to COVID, this holiday had to be cancelled. Sundowners refunded us within 4 days. We have had several short breaks booked with other companies that were cancelled, and non of them provided a refund as quick as Sundowners. If anything, I had to chase.
I will definitely be using Sundowners again.

Jo has been marvelous as we altered our Borneo plans due to family circumstances. She has given us a great service and invested time to make a holiday of our dreams. Thanks Jo and your team. Gary and Mandy Rudd.

We cannot thank Jo at Sundowner enough for arranging our holiday to Costa Rica. Two weeks, five destinations and everything ran like clockwork - all the transfers to and from each location and all the excursions couldn't have been better. Jo listened to what we wanted and found the perfect accommodation - all with gardens and trails of some sort so that we could pack as much into the fortnight as possible and see an abundance of wildlife and sights. Ending the fortnight at La Cusinga in the Osa could not have been a more of a fitting finish to our whirlwind tour - it was heaven! What a country Costa Rica is. The people are terrific and their attitude to eco tourism is certainly first rate. Having travelled there herself, Jo knew exactly where to go, what to see and what excusions to fix up for us. We left everything in Jo's capable hands and she gets an A* all round. Thank you Jo!

Our holiday in Sri Lanka March 2020 was simply brilliant. Lucy at Sundowners organisation was impeccable from start to finish. All our dreams were fulfilled and more. The hotels were lovely and many of them had and extra touches that were unexpected . Our guide/ driver Sameera was kind, professional,understanding and very knowledgeable. He made a wonderful companion for our trip. Nothing was too much for him.
It is difficult to say our highlights but the train journey to Tea Hills , boat trip in Negombo and the safari were each a complete delight. The three days in Mirissa at the end was so relaxing after such a busy holiday.
We knew that we would enjoy Sri Lanka as it was somewhere we had always wanted to go but we completely fell in love with the country and it’s beautiful people. Thank you to all of you for making it possible. A dream come true.

We would just like to say how well organised the holiday was from start to finish. The itinerary was just right. We managed to see tigers on two of our four safaris (such a thrill, amazing!!), and there was just the right mix of wildlife and culture for us. The agent reps, guides and drivers were excellent,in particular our driver Navin, who was very professional but friendly. Thank you to Sundowner Holidays for making this trip possible. It is just unfortunate we have come back to such mayhem and distress in the UK, but at least we are safely back with our family.

Just a quick thank you to all at Sundowner for putting together a spectacular holiday in Zimbabwe and SouthAfrica. All the hotels and lodges were truly excellent and we had fascinating new experiences every day.

We wanted a trip to South Africa to celebrate my 60th birthday and our 35th wedding anniversary. James and Lucy worked really hard with us to understand what we wanted and suggested a variety of properties and itineraries and then spent time with us tuning and refining them until we got exactly what we wanted.

We ended up booking a longer trip to break up the travelling and we went all out on the luxury game lodge. When we actually travelled, all of the properties that Sundowner suggested were excellent, each was unique and very memorable and each in a different way. I was worried after the first property that the others wouldn't live up to it but they all did in different ways and the contrasts and individual experiences only added to the holiday.

If I have to pick a highlight it would be Kichaka game lodge which was truly a once in a lifetime luxury experience. The property, the park and the superb animal viewing game drives were quite unbelievable and the photos we brought back will keep the memory alive for us.

Our whole experience with Sundowner, tailoring and booking the holiday, the places we were recommended and the actual holiday itself were superb. Dealing with experienced professionals really does make a difference and I can't overemphasis how much they contributed to our enjoyment and experience

Really really pleased with our holiday - the experience of a lifetime. Ocean View House in Camps Bay is a gorgeous setting and we were treated very well there. And Mhondoro, wow, the Garden of Eden – if I die and go to heaven and it turns out I’m back at Mhondoro then that will be about right.

We really felt the benefit of Sundowner's experience. Normally I book holidays through Expedia etc, and we enjoy them, but often we come back and think with hindsight we'd do some things differently. Absolutely and honestly not the case at all here - lengths of stays, timings of flights etc, which made perfect sense in context - this I think is your real value-add. Many many thanks.
