Seems like Coinbase Support is a joke

Seems like Coinbase Support is a joke. Quick to take your money, slow to offer help. In mid-March, there was a hiccup where some cryptocurrency was supposed to be transferred to my account, leading to endless hours of conversations with Coinbase Support that led nowhere. Despite everything being apparently resolved from my end, no action has been taken. This whole ordeal really makes one question the efficiency and reliability of Coinbase's entire operation

I tried to deposit money to my account

I tried to deposit money to my account, which failed, for unclarified reasons. I assumed I had to go continue through the identification phase, which completed succesfully, twice, but then didn't, cause the protocol would take me back to the same step : complete verification. When I tried to find support in the means of a human being, my experience went from terrible to one big frustration. Chat: a chatbot keeps spamming unrelated answers and when I indicated it was not useful, the chat session is ended.. The good thing is I never got to deposit money on this exchange..

Avoid Coinbase at all costs

I am utterly disappointed with Coinbase's service. As a victim of Celsius bankruptcy, I desperately need access to my funds, but Coinbase has made it impossible. Despite my repeated attempts to update my account details to reflect my new location in the Isle of Man, I've been met with nothing but obstacles.
Firstly, my account country is still listed as the UK, despite my relocation. I've provided valid proof of address and identification, but Coinbase refuses to update my information.
To make matters worse, my account is restricted, leaving me unable to add funds or make any necessary changes. And when I reach out to customer support for help, I'm promised a resolution that never materializes. It's a never-ending cycle of frustration and disappointment.
I urgently need Coinbase to lift the restrictions on my account and facilitate the completion of the KYC process so I can access my funds. Their lack of effective support and disregard for their customers' needs is appalling. Avoid Coinbase at all costs if you value your financial well-being.

Chat support doesn't even attempt to answer my questions.

Chat support doesn't even attempt to answer my questions. I think they've had so many previous questions that might be somewhat close to what I'm asking. And so, instead of directly answering my questions or making an effort to gain a better understanding of my situation, they just paste previous answers to other chat support sessions. Then, they'll discontinue the chat without any warning. They don't even have sound on their chats. You know, a notification that they've responded. You must check back every few minutes to ensure they're still there. Horrible service.

Was fine until a month or two ago. I could buy and sell crypto, and make withdraws and deposits. Then I made two small buys and my account froze. App is worthless, chat is worthless, and customer service line is worthless. Please do not open an account with this trash company.

I've looked at reviews for Coinbase on this site and others. This company does not care about its customers. I've bought a long put option against Coinbase and I'm going to ride it into the ground. Coinbase' loss will be my gain.

I would leave 0 stars if I could!

I would leave 0 stars if I could, I have used coinbase for over 7 years, ran into my first withdrawal issue now and the support is just ignoring the issue.
they keep being repetitive with useless questions asked in response to mine, they disconnect me every 7 minutes I don't typy in chat while im waiting for a reply from their end. And when I asked to connect me to supervisor or another agent (Ramil) disconnected me and marked the chat as resolved...

This is the worst system and customer…

This is the worst system and customer service.
an example: One of my cash deposit was rejected by the bank. I an I reply the deposit and it went through.
But, coinbase automatically put a hold on to ALL my account. Even though I have more than 10 times the rejected deposit in the account already, I can not trade or withdraw even one dollar. The only thing I could do, was conveniently deposit more money.
After spending an hour on the phone, they keep saying that is automatically done and they cannot do anything.
Their system SUCKS as much as their service.
They cost me late payments to my contractors.

This company has the worst customer…

This company has the worst customer service by far of any company or institution that I have everencountered. So far I have been unable to speak to someone in Coinbase who can explain why I can't get into my account or what software I would need to install fpr my web cam to follow their protocol for renewing the authenticator app on a new phone. Very bad experience!

Absolute garbage customer service

Absolute trash customer service. Try changing my number and I've verified my identity 3 times now and they still send verification texts to my old number that I don't have access to. Absolute worthless company and has terrible customer service. Wish I had read these reviews before ever signing up.

Trying to get a simple answer

Trying to get a simple answer. Took 2 hours and still can’t answer. Why does my limit show 250 then i buy 250 and it says payment failed? Then system says, I’ve exceeded limit.
I had one rep stop responding completely. Another rep just regurgitated a script. I’ve had nothing but problems with my limit, and the ability to purchase crypto.

Coinbase is Uncontactable

Coinbase is uncontactable. That is a definite characteristic of the dishonest. The support email address provided by Coinbase does not work - here it is (please note the extra space which seems to be done on purpose) Support+trust@Coinbase .com
Removing the extra space makes no difference.
The following email address also does not exist.
support.coinbase.com (the first . represents the @ sign.
The advertised contact phone number +1 888-908-7930 is only for customers living in the US. I don't.
The 'Get Support' option is a joke.

I placed an order for BTC on the mobile…

I placed an order for BTC on the mobile app today (first time using app). Went to "trade", entered order, got no option for market or limit, so figured maybe app was market orders only (strange). Order filled like 20 secs later and got an email with a Ref # and a fill price that was ~$400 more than the trading price at the time. Called support, was disconnected 3 times, finally got call back, spent over 20 mins explaining problem. "helper" Gab was unable to explain what had happened. Oh and there's no record of the trade on my desktop account, but the money sure was taken out. Asked for supervisor...was told there were none. Asked for Gab's identity number to reference the conversation in follow-up. Was told no identity number. Asked what next step was and he said "NO NEXT STEP". What's going on? Have sent email but not expecting a response soon if ever. Anyone out there got recs for a good exchange with KYC?

Beware of Coin base crypto custodial duties

As many people have suggested I moved much of my crypto to hard wallets, keeping a small trading amount ( about $1480 worth in QNT, GALA, and a third crypto). With a newly changed complex password and two other layers of security plus a VPN, I felt comfortable and secure. However on 01/11/2023, someone entered my Coin base account and removed all assets except $24. I received no texts or email notifications or alerts from my Coin base security measures that I had in place. Basically after speaking and emailing Coin base support, they have simple said it is my responsibility to set up security measures. I of course did! Is it not true that Coin base bears responsibility, being the Custodian of my assets on Coin base? Now the Coin base support is dancing and dodging my efforts at resolving this. I have basically received no help in investigating anything related to the theft. After speaking with an independent security official, I was told most of this type of hack is an internal or "inside job" issue, which would explain their lack of interest or resolve concerning my loss. More recently I contacted my funding bank and filed a complaint because of not receiving the last few deposits amounting to $320 or so. The bank did reverse those deposits, since I did not receive that money. I am still at a bigger loss with the $1480 stolen. But then I found that Coin base decided to also take my remaining $24 from my account even knowing of my bigger loss! So nice...so warm and friendly of them wouldn't you say? Beware, my friends of possible Coin base insider moves into your Coin base account. I can not say for sure it came from inside Coin base, but how else were my security measures circumvented??? RJS

My account completely drained

My account completely drained. Lost 69k. I have no idea how. I had 2FA enabled. All the malware software on my laptop installed possible. Never shared anything. Extreme complicated password.

It’s been over a month. I’m in agony. CB refuses to do anything constructive. They just say that they “suspect the account was compromised” due to my inability to maintain credentials, devices, etc.

I swear there is no way I leaked anything and this can only be a failure somewhere within the CB ranks.

I have filed FBI report as well as local police.

My next step is to get a good lawyer and fight this tooth and nail and in the meantime I will launch a serious public crusade on this company. They actually have insurance for this stuff and we pay high transaction fees to pay for their insurance premiums and they refuse to use it for honest investors.

PS. My account is still locked, I only get people on the support line with heavy, hard to understand accents, who repeat the same line “it’s with the higher ups”. I have received numerous emails saying my account has been verified, one email in particular saying my account will be disabled because they “suspect fraudulent activity”

Don’t trust this company or anyone that works there.

Mr. Armstrong you have always appeared like an honorable man from what I have seen of you in the public domain. I have been a customer since 2014. You have made some money on me sir.

And now this. Do you ever drill down to the specific things and discover that locking accounts indefinitely, directly PREVENTS your paying customers from protecting themselves? You may as well put handcuffs on your customer’s while hackers rob them blind.
