Great meat products
Great meat products. The boned and rolled leg of pork and belly pork were delicious with beautiful crispy crackling. The bones made great stock for gravy. The delivery service was very good and the packaging of all the products bought was excellent and reached me perfectly fresh.

Great butchers let down by DPD
Meat is exceptional, but Swaledale Butchers is let down by its delivery partner (DPD). My order was left on the street an hour before it was marked as delivered. Pure luck it was found by a kind neighbour.

We’ve reviewed the DPD tracking data for your order. The parcel was delivered at 12:40, which was within the one-hour delivery window of 12:25 to 13:25 that DPD communicated to you by email and SMS, and via the app if installed. The driver also uploaded a delivery photo confirming where it was left.
For perishable deliveries, DPD provides a precise one-hour slot and live tracking so customers can ensure someone is available to receive the parcel. If a parcel is left and not collected promptly, various things can unfortunately happen, including neighbours moving it, weather exposure, or theft, which fall outside both DPD’s and our control.

For wild bird game
For wild bird game, some small feathers may remain, and the vacuum backing can sometimes have blood on the outside. But other than that, the meat from this shop is very fresh and the packaging/delivery is great. Would recommend.

You’re absolutely right that with wild game birds, the occasional small feather may remain, and some external residue in the vacuum packaging is possible. These are both natural results of minimally processed, whole carcass butchery.

Great quality meat. I've been using Swaledale for a while. Definitely recommend. Unfortunately I can't buy from them as often as I wish, it's getting to expensive but I guess everything is.

Beef prices across the UK have risen sharply in recent years - according to the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB), retail beef prices are now around 50% higher than they were in early 2021.
