Brian is an excellent swimming instructor who has been very patient and friendly with my 9 year-old daughter who has made good progress in the 2 years he has so far taught her 1-2-1. Despite suffering from high ADD and coordination & pro-prioception issues she is now just a very few lessons away from being able to swim unaided 25 m of front crawl and breast stroke with correct breathing technique (back stroke she can already do).
She arrived with only high water confidence and some shallow water dog paddle. She trusts Brian and always has some fun during lessons too.
(the lack of the 5th star is simply due to a couple of late cancellations and then without a replacement instructor).

When I started swimming classes I could just about swim but with lots of encouragement and great advice I was soon able to swim properly within a few lessons.
Steven, my teacher was very patient and made me confident enough to even go swim in the sea!

Before I went to my first class, I was terrified of getting my head under the water but I had to do so in order to get to the closed off section for my training. However since then I am now less afraid of the water and able to swim, albeit short lengths, but after 10 lessons I have overcome my fear of the water (not fully) but a lot more since the beginning.
I was taught by Stephen and not Brian who runs the company. Stephen was great, he swam to national level in Ireland, his teaching styles are very advanced and if I did more lessons I am sure I would have conquered the water like he has. He may take some lessons to warm to as he is a tough love kinda teacher. The pool is in a gym, the pool it seems was rarely cleaned by the staff at the gym which was disappointing but this isn't something Brian and his team could have controlled.
The negatives are that on my first day I was told I got the wrong equipment for swimming, so I had to repurchase new goggles, new shorts etc so it would have been good for an email beforehand but I have been told it is on the website. Still an introduction welcome email would have sufficed.
Also on my first lesson I had no idea what the procedure was, I text Brian after sitting in the changing room as I had no idea where to meet him (I assumed it would be him), I did not know where the pool area was so that could be better.
The teachers all speak very highly of Brian and how great a swimmer he is but the reason I am not giving a 5 star review is the reason that I think Brian could do with working on his admin skills. It was an absolute nightmare trying to book lessons. It would be impossible to get a straight answer to any queries, I was told off for using his mobile number to text my lesson bookings, despite his signature having his phone number. His website is impressive so it seems a shame why there is no option to book online. He also wouldn't provide a calendar of bookings which would have prevented me from sending loads of emails back and forth trying to book lessons.
It is a shame, because I did conquer my fear, but the operations is heavily tainted.

Brian (and Steve) have spent this week coaxing our very nervous boys into the water and teaching them the skills they need to start learning to swim in a week of intensive lessons. The 7 year old in particular has gone from anxious tears on day 1, to diving under to pick up rings, blowing bubbles and floating on his front and even floating on his back (with his ears under!) by lesson 5.
We're still some way off proper swimming, but given that the bigger chain swimming classes we'd tried previously had failed to even get them in the water, this week of lessons has been a huge step forward for both our boys.
Brian and Steve have a relaxed and easy going manner, using fun games and tricks to encourage confidence in the water, I can highly recommend the classes.

My 6 year old son had a history of being pretty scared of being in the water and had got better over the last 6 months. I went for 2 swimming lessons and in this time he learned how to do the basics of front crawl and managed to swim a whole length. The instructor was very good with him, challenging him to develop but also playing fun games. A very good experience and highly recommended.

Great classes - our daughter made more progress in a term here than with all of my previous years of amateurish attempts to teach her.

I took lessons with Steven in preparation for a Sprint distance triathlon, and even though it was only 4 lessons, my technique improved significantly thanks to Steven's coaching. The result for my first ever competitive open water swim (and the 3rd ever open water swim): 750m in 18 mins 12 secs, averaging 2 mins 26 secs per 100m. Nothing to complain about for a first try!
I'd definitely go back for more lessons to work on technique, the only question being how long my next open water swim will be. Strongly recommended!

Brilliant for improving technique and strokes-thanks Steven and Brian!

I signed up for lessons with Swimmingclass as had decided to have a go at a triathlon but rapidly realised that i really couldn't swim.
I've had 6 lessons with Steven at Swimming class and now can genuinely swim front crawl.
Steven is an excellent coach and i am amazed at how far I've progressed in 6 weeks.

I did my class at Farringdon gym. The gym itself is a little grotty, but the class was excellent. I have already improved my times in just one lesson! I'll be back for more!

Stephen is excellent and makes it fun. My technique has improved massively and I am enjoying it

I fully recommend. The team is very responsive also for scheduling at short notice. The lessons are well structured and the pool is easily accessible in central London.

If you're looking for a convenient and flexible option to learning or improving your skills in the water, then this is the right for you. It's hard to find many places in London that offer such a service so reasonably priced.
Brian is friendly and answers any questions you may have and endeavours to tailor your experience to achieve your goals.
Great service and advice.

Having been a 'doggie paddler' for many decades, lessons with Stephen were most enlightening. He is very patient and explains everything clearly. Just a matter of remembering to put it all in practice when he's not there... Time well spent.

Steven is an amazing instructor. I had 4 lessons with him and could see a lot of improvements in my swimming techniques for breathing, front crawl, breaststroke and backstroke. My next goal is to learn butterfly and I'm confident that i have the best teacher for it now ^^... thank you so much Steven and Swimming Class UK. I will definitely recommend you to anyone
